The S-PG-303M Mini 3G/HD/SD-SDI Pattern Generator with Serial Control has been tested for conformance
to safety regulations and requirements, and has been certified for international use. However, like all electronic
equipments, the S-PG-303M should be used with care. Please read and follow the safety instructions to protect
yourself from possible injury and to minimize the risk of damage to the unit.
Follow all instructions and warnings marked on this unit.
Do not attempt to service this unit yourself, except where explained in this manual.
Provide proper ventilation and air circulation and do not use near water.
Keep away the objects that might damage the device and assure that the placement of this unit is on a stable
surface.
Use only the power adapter, power cords and connection cables designed for this unit.
Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners to clean this unit. Always unplug the power to the device before
cleaning.

The S-PG-303M Mini HDcctv Pattern Generator with Serial Control (up to 3G) is an advanced SDI pattern
generator with multi-format (3G/HD/SD) and multi-pattern support. S-PG-303M offers the most common patterns,
SMPTE colorbars and checkfield, for SDI testing thru front panel buttons. Besides still test patterns, other features
such as audio (SMPTE-291M) are also provided. S-PG-303M can support up to 8 channel AES compliant audio
with 48KHz sample rate. With portable size, S-PG-303M is equipped three buttons and LED indications to ease the
control. This device provides a cost effective way to calibrate and test SDI enable video devices and displays.
In order to create the accessibility for SDI system integrators, S-PG-303M is equipped the serial port thru
RS-232 connector and the complete serial command sets are also provided for reference!

The measurement results are from Tektronix WFM-7120 with SDI through 1m (3.3ft) long Belden 1694A.

Front Panel Operation
Button Resolution
Normally, Button Resolution is used to select different resolution for SDI outputs, and the LEDs from PAL to
1080p will indicate the selected video resolution. When all 4 lights out, the output resolution is NTSC
When pushing Button Resolution and holding for 2 seconds, LED 3+4 will blink once to indicate the current
resolution is saved into the embedded flash!
Button Video Frame
Normally, Button Video Frame is used to select different frame rates for SDI outputs, and the LEDs from
24Hz to60Hz will indicate the selected video frame rat. When all 7 lights out, the output rate is 23.98Hz
When pushing Button Video Frame and holding for 2 seconds, LED 3+4 will blink once to indicate the
SMPTE color bar pattern is chosen and saved into the embedded flash!

Button Audio Group
Normally, Button Audio Group is used to setup SDI audio output, and the LEDs 1+2, and 3+4 indicate the
selected audio group.
When pushing Button Audio Group and holding for 2 seconds, LED 3+4 will blink once to indicate the Check
Field pattern is chosen and saved into the embedded flash!
Notice that, S-PG-303M actually can support tens of video pattern and other features such as moving picture or
audio level control etc! Users must be able to access those plus functions by RS-232 serial connection.

1. SDI OUTPUT A: Connect to a SDI device for SDI, HD-SDI, or 3G-SDI signal output either from the chosen
pattern or the converted HDMI source signal.

1. Due to the high frequency bandwidth and low jitter requirement of 3G-SDI signals, it is strongly
recommended to use just one SDI OUTPUT with one 75 ohm.
2. The features including new timings and patterns may increase without notice after the firmware is updated!
This may affect the menu items, but will keep the same framework for users!

The SELLER warrants the S-PG-303M Mini 3G/HD/SD-SDI Pattern Generator with Serial Control to be free
from defects in the material and workmanship for 1 year from the date of purchase from the SELLER or an
authorized dealer. Should this product fail to be in good working order within 1 year warranty period, The SELLER,
at its option, repair or replace the unit, provided that the unit has not been subjected to accident, disaster, abuse
or any unauthorized modifications including static discharge and power surges.
Unit that fails under conditions other than those covered will be repaired at the current price of parts and
labor in effect at the time of repair. Such repairs are warranted for 90 days from the day of reshipment to the
BUYER. If the unit is delivered by mail, customers agree to insure the unit or assume the risk of loss or damage in
transit. Under no circumstances will a unit be accepted without a return authorization number.
The warranty is in lieu of all other warranties expressed or implied, including without limitations, any other
implied warranty or fitness or merchantability for any particular purpose, all of which are expressly disclaimed.
Proof of sale may be required in order to claim warranty. Customers outside Taiwan are responsible for
shipping charges to and from the SELLER. Cables are limited to a 30 day warranty and cable must be free from
any markings, scratches, and neatly coiled.
