Electrical Requirements
The following power supply must be provided:
Model: 120 Volts, 1248 Watts, 60 Hertz
A certified electrician must furnish sufficient power for proper machine operation and install any supplied receptacle. We recommend this equipment be on a dedicated and protected circuit. Failure to wire properly will void the warranty and may result in damage to the machine. It is Gold Medal Products Co.’s recommendation that this machine be plugged directly into a wall outlet. The use of extension cords is not recommended due to safety concerns, and may cause sacrificed and/or reduced performance. Make sure cord is located to prevent a trip hazard or unit upset.
Before You Plug In Machine
1. Make sure all machine switches are in the OFF position before plugging the equipment
into the receptacle.
2. Make sure the wall outlet can accept the grounded plugs (where applicable) on the
power supply cord.
3. The wall outlet must have the proper polarity. If in doubt, have a competent
electrician inspect the outlet and correct if necessary.
4. DO NOT use a grounded to un-grounded receptacle adapter (where applicable).
5. Install the unit in a level position.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Controls and Their Functions
POWER SWITCH – Turns on the power to the shaver motor.
DOOR SWITCH – A safety precaution which prevents machine operation when door is open.
RESET SWITCH – Protects motor from overheating (locked rotor/mechanical failure to start).
Manual Reset, push red button to reset.
TOP HAND WHEEL – Applies pressure to the block ice loaded into the machine.
PRESSURE LEVER – Pressure applied on this lever determines the fineness or coarseness of the
shaved ice.
Using Your Machine
1. Allow ice to soften before use. Ice, when properly softened, will appear clear and not
frosted.
2. Lower cover door and load ice block. Set pressure plate by turning the top hand wheel
(failure to set pressure plate causes excessive load on driveline). After pressure is set close the door.
NOTE: The machine will not operate if the door is open.
3. Place ice pan directly below ice chute and engage power switch. With left hand on
pressure lever, force ice into shaver head. The amount of pressure applied at this point will determine the fineness or coarseness of the shaved ice.
The last inch or so of the block of ice being shaved will typically break apart.
