3.0 Operation
3.1 Turning the Unit ON and OFF
Press and hold (POWER button) for 1 second to turn the FRS unit ON. Press and hold
(POWER button) for 1 second again to turn the FRS unit OFF.
3.2 Adjusting the Speaker Volume Adjusting the Speaker Volume Up

(UP_VOL) button to increase the speaker volume.

3.3 Selecting a Channel
z
3.3.1 Press (UP_CHAN) button, The channel number (1-14) will be changed
ascending in one step.
z 3.3.2 Press (DOWN_CHAN) button , The channel number (1-14) will be changed
descending in one step.
3.4 Talking and Listening
z In order to speak to someone, each of you must be set to the same channel. z Press and hold TALK (push to talk button) to transmit. Transmissions commence and
the Blue LED indicator lights.
z Speak into the microphone with 5 to 7cm away from you mouth. Release TALK button
at the end of transmission. You can now receive incoming calls. While receiving, the RX icon will appear on the LCD screen and Blue LED indicator lights.
3.5 Sending call tone
z Press TALK button twice shortly to send a page to other FRS in the same channel. The
Blue LED indicator lights.
3.6 Automatic Power Save Feature
z After 6 seconds for the last operation, the FRS enters to the power saving mode
automatically. The life of the batteries would be extended. The FRS is still able to receive transmission in this mode.
3.7 Low battery alert
z When the batteries in the unit are low, an alert tone will be heard and blue LED will
flash once every 15 seconds. Replace new batteries immediately.
3.8 LCD backlight
Press any Key, Blue LED is lighted about 3 seconds.
3.9 Using batteries
z The FRS units operate with 3 x 1.5V AAA batteries. z CAUTION: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. For regular
battery, replace only with the AAA equivalent type. Batteries should not be thrown with domestic rubbish. You may hand them in at your nearest collection point.
z Do not leave batteries installed over a long period of time as leakage may occur
and this can destroy the radio.
