tire pressures are getting low and
the tires need to be inflated to the
proper pressure.
The TPMS does not replace normal
monthly tire maintenance. Maintain
the correcttirepressures.
See Tire Pressure Monitor System0 278.
Fuel (Gasoline)
Regular Unleaded Fuel
Use only Regular 87 octane — (R
+M)/2 — or higher unleaded
gasoline in your vehicle. TOP TIER
Detergent Gasoline is
recommended. Do not use gasoline
with an octane rating lower as it will
result in reduced performance and
lower fuel economy. See
Recommended Fuel 0 206.
Fuel (Diesel)
For diesel vehicles, do not use
gasoline. See “Fuel for Diesel
Engines” in the Duramax diesel
supplement.
Certain models are compatible with
E85 fuel. See E85 or FlexFuel0 207.
Engine Oil Life System
The engine oil life system calculates
engine oil life based on vehicle use
and displays the CHANGE ENGINE
OIL SOON message when it is time
to change the engine oil and filter.
The oil life system should be reset
to 100% only following an oil
change.
Resetting the Oil Life System
1. Display the OIL LIFE
REMAINING on the DIC. See
Driver Information Center (DIC)
0 114.
2. Press and hold
while the Oil Life display is
active. The oil life will change
to 100%.
The oil life system can also be reset
as follows:
1. Display the OIL LIFE
REMAINING on the DIC. See
Driver Information Center (DIC)

2. Fully press and release the
accelerator pedal three times
within five seconds. If the
display shows 100%, the
system is reset.
