If sound levels are uncomfortable, even with ear protection, stop using the tool immediately and check the ear protection is correctly ﬁtted and provides the correct level of sound attenuation for the level of sound produced by your tool.

WARNING: User exposure to tool vibration can result in loss of sense of touch, numbness, tingling and reduced ability to grip. Long term exposure can lead to a chronic condition. If necessary, limit the length of time exposed to vibration and use anti-vibration gloves. Do not operate the tool with hands below a normal comfortable temperature, as vibration will have a greater effect. Use the ﬁgures provided in the speciﬁcation relating to vibration to calculate the duration and frequency of operating the tool.

Sound and vibration levels in the speciﬁcation are determined according to international standards. The ﬁgures represent normal use for the tool in normal working conditions. General Safety

WARNING Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions

may result in electric shock, ﬁre and/or serious injury.

WARNING: This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced, physical or mental capabilities or lack of experience or knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children must be

supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference. The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated

(cordless) power tool.

1) Work area safety

a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of ﬂammable

liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.

c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose

control.

2) Electrical safety

a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter

plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodiﬁed plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.

b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and

refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.

c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk

of electric shock.

d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep

cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.

e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a

cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.

f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD)

protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.

g) When used in Australia or New Zealand, it is recommended that this tool is ALWAYS supplied via

Residual Current Device (RCD) with a rated residual current of 30mA or less.

3 Personal safety a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do

not use a power tool while you are tired or under the inﬂuence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A

moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.

b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust

mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.

c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power

source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your ﬁnger on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.

d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left

attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.

e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the

power tool in unexpected situations.

f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away

from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.

g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these

are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.

4) Power tool use and care

a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool

will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.

b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be

controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.

c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool before

making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.

d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the

power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.

e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and

any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.

f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less

likely to bind and are easier to control.

g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking

into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.

5) Service

a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualiﬁed repair person using only identical replacement parts.

This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

Additional Safety for Auto-Feed Screw Drivers

WARNING: DO NOT allow anyone under the age of 18 years to use this tool, and ensure that operators are qualiﬁed and familiar with the operating and safety instructions.

a) Use auxiliary handle(s), if supplied with the tool. Loss of control can cause personal injury b) Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the screw

may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contacting a ‘live’ wire may result in exposed metal parts of the power tool becoming ‘live’ and could give the operator an electric shock

e) Battery chargers are for indoors use only. Ensure that the power supply and charger are protected

against moisture at all times

f) Extension cable reels used with this tool should be completely unwound. Minimum conductor cross

section: 1.0mm2

g) When using the tool, use safety equipment including safety glasses or shield, ear defenders, and

protective clothing, including safety gloves

h) When using this tool outdoors, connect to a power supply with an RCD device and water-protected

plugs in good working order

i) Use metal and voltage detectors to locate concealed electric, water or gas lines. Avoid touching live

components or conductors

j) Ensure lighting is adequate k) DO NOT exert pressure on to the tool. To do so will shorten its service life l) If interrupted during operation of this tool, complete the process and switch off before turning

attention elsewhere

Intended Use

Mains-powered portable power tool for driving collated screws into plasterboard/drywall and light, low density wood with automatic reloading of screws when used with the auto-feed attachment. Also operates as a powered plasterboard/drywall screwdriver with depth stop when used with the Depth Stop Collar and bit holder plus 25mm length ¼” screwdriver bits.

Unpacking Your Tool

• Carefully unpack and inspect your new sander. Familiarise yourself with all its features and functions

• Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If any parts are missing or damaged, have such parts replaced before attempting to use this tool

Before Use

WARNING: Ensure the tool is disconnected from the power supply before attaching or changing any

accessories, or making any adjustments.

Assembling for auto-feed use

1. Push the Collated Screwdriver Bit (25) ﬁrmly into the Bit Holder of the tool (Image A). It is held in place by captive ball-bearing mechanism and there will be some resistance

2. Carefully ﬁt the Auto-Feed Mechanism (8) over the Collated Screwdriver Bit. The Auto-Feed Mechanism can be ﬁtted at multiple angles, depending on use, although the normal position is the Lower Screw Belt Channel (19) directly in line with the power tool handle. Three captive ball-bearings secure the Auto-Feed Mechanism to the power tool. It clicks into place and is removed by pulling the Auto-Feed Mechanism from the tool. No additional tools are required

3. To set the Auto-Feed Mechanism to the length of the screws, press and hold in the Screw Length Adjustment Button (4) and either push in or pull out to the required length by holding and moving the Stopper Base (21). The screw length is indicated by the Screw Length Scale (5) and can be adjusted from 25 – 50mm in 5mm click increments

4. Feed the Screw Belt (20) through the Lower Screw Belt Channel (19) and into the bottom of the Screw Belt Channel (3)

Assembling for Depth Stop Use

1. Pull off the Auto-Feed Mechanism (8) if ﬁtted

2. Remove the Collated Screwdriver Bit (25) if ﬁtted. The Collar Holes (24) of the Depth Stop Collar (22) can be used to grip the Collated Screwdriver Bit if it is difﬁcult to pull free from the Bit Holder of the tool (Image A)

3. Insert the Bit Holder Extension (23) into the bit holder of the tool

4. Fit a PH2 ¼” screwdriver bit to the Bit Holder Extension

5. Fit the Depth Stop Collar to the tool by simply pushing over the bit holder of the power tool (Image A)

Operation

WARNING: ALWAYS wear eye protection, adequate respiratory and hearing protection, as well as suitable

gloves, when working with this tool.

Main Unit

Forward/Reverse

Direction can be changed using the Forward/Reverse Selector (14).

• Do not attempt to move the Forward/Reverse Selector whilst the drill is operating

• Ensure the Forward/Reverse Selector is fully to the left or right so either forward or reverse is cleanly selected

Speed control

• The maximum rotation speed of the tool can be varied using the Speed Limiter Control (16). This governs the maximum speed of the Trigger (15)

• The Speed Limiter Control indicates ‘+’ or ‘-‘ rotation to increase or decrease speed

Trigger

• To start the tool, squeeze the Trigger (15). The further the Trigger is squeezed, the faster the speed

• To stop the tool, release the Trigger

Lock-on button

• The auto-feed screwdriver is equipped with a Lock-On Button (17). This allows the Trigger (15) to be locked into the “on” position for tasks that require extended continuous running

• To use the lock-on function, depress the Lock-On Button whilst squeezing the Trigger. The Trigger can then be released and the drill will continue to operate

• To stop the auto-feed screwdriver, squeeze, then release the Trigger

Pressure Clutch

• The tool is ﬁtted with an internal pressure clutch that engages only when the drive is pushed against the screw head, either when the Auto-Feed Mechanism (8) is used and plunged, or with individual screws.

IMPORTANT: As only light additional pressure operates the drive, be careful in use not to be taken by surprise when the drive engages.

Auto-feed Mechanism

Screw length adjustment

To adjust for different screw sizes, press down the Screw Length Adjustment Button (4) and adjust the length position by pulling or pushing the Stopper Base (21)

Screw depth adjustment

To adjust the screw depth adjustment so the head of the screw is at the correct position in the plasterboard/ drywall, rotate the Depth Adjuster (9). Use scrap material if necessary to test the setting is correct

Auto-feed operation

Setup

1. Ensure the screw is in line with the Screw Centre Indicator (1)

2. Set the depth adjustment to the mid-point

3. Set the Speed Limiter Control (16) to the minimum setting for ﬁrst use

4. Ensure the Forward/Reverse Selector (14) is in the forward position to insert screws into the workpiece as indicated on the tool body

Operating

1. Place the Stopper Base (21) over the location for the ﬁrst screw 90° to the surface

2. Use the Screw Centre Indicator (1) to aid positioning

3. Hold the drill by the Insulated Hand Grip (18) and the recess between the Auto-Feed Mechanism (8) and screwdriver gearbox cowling

DO NOT: Hold the tool close to any exposed mechanical area or the screws of the Auto-Feed Mechanism. DO NOT: Hold the tool by the screwdriver gearbox cowling if there is a risk of contacting electrical cables in

use.

4. Squeeze the Trigger (15) to operate. You can either squeeze the Trigger before each plunge or use the Lock-On Button (17) to lock the drill ‘on’

5. Carefully push the Stopper Base against the material so the Auto-Feed Mechanism is compressed and the screwdriver connects with the screw. As this happens, the inner part of the Auto-Feed Mechanism submerges into the outer case of the Auto-Feed Mechanism and the drive is enabled on the Screwdriver Power Tool (11)

6. Once the screw is inserted to its maximum level, carefully remove the Stopper Base from the work surface so the Auto-Feed Mechanism is fully extended again

7. After you have inserted the ﬁrst screw, adjust the required screw depth as described in ‘Screw Depth Adjustment’ if necessary

8. The Auto-Feed Mechanism has brought the next screw up to the mounting point and operating can be repeated immediately

Notes

• Always ensure that material is secure. If appropriate use a vice or clamp to hold the work

• The technique of connecting to and driving screws can be improved by operating the drill at a lower speed while connecting to the screw by using light pressure on the Trigger and then increasing Trigger pressure when driving the screws into the material. This will reduce wear on the Collated Screwdriver Bit (25)

• Practising with scrap material is recommended in order to familiarise yourself with the tool

CAUTION: The Auto-Feed Mechanism is not designed for hard material. It relies on easy entry for the screw into the material. It is designed for drywall/plasterboard, low density wood and other similar materials. While it may work with some harder materials, especially when used vertically, it can also be problematic in use for such materials. It cannot be used to secure plasterboard/drywall to masonry or metal. This is not a fault with the tool.

CAUTION: Applying excess pressure does not result in faster or more efﬁcient screwdriving. If the pressure applied to the auto-feed screwdriver has a noticeable effect on the speed of the auto-feed screwdriver, then reduce the pressure. Overloading the auto-feed screwdriver will reduce its service life.

Depth stop operation

The tool can be used for individual insertion and removal of screws. The Depth Stop Collar (22) ensures the screw heads are at the correct level for plasterboard/drywall but the same head level is also useful for many other applications.

1. Ensure the correct 25mm length screwdriver bit is ﬁtted to the Bit Holder Extension (23) (PH2 typically for plasterboard/drywall) and the Depth Stop Collar is also ﬁtted to the tool

2. Make sure the Forward/Reverse Selector (14) is correctly set for insertion or removal

3. For most applications, set the Speed Limiter Control (16) to the minimum setting

4. Insert the screwdriver bit tip into the head of the screw to engage

5. Apply light pressure to the Trigger (15) and the screw head to engage the drive of the tool

Note: Use a faster speed setting once you are more familiar with the tool Note: For use as a standard powered screwdriver without the depth stop reducing access to screws, replace

the Bit Holder Extension with a longer length bit holder or use ¼” screwdriver bits longer than 25mm.

Maintenance

<exclamation triangle> WARNING: ALWAYS disconnect from the power supply before carrying out any inspection, maintenance or cleaning.

General inspection

• Regularly check that all the ﬁxing screws are tight

• Inspect the supply cord of the tool, prior to each use, for damage or wear. Repairs should be carried out by an authorised GMC service centre. This advice also applies to extension cords used with this tool

Cleaning

• Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear quickly, and shorten the machine’s service life. Clean the body of your machine with a soft brush, or dry cloth. If available, use clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes

• Clean the tool casing with a soft damp cloth using a mild detergent. Do not use alcohol, petrol or strong cleaning agents

• Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts

Cleaning and lubricating the mechanism

The Auto-Feed Mechanism (8) may require occasional cleaning and the Metal Guides (7) require lubrication to maintain reliable operation.

1. Remove any ﬁtted Screw Belt (20)

2. Press down the Screw Length Adjustment Button (4) and pull the Stopper Base (21) carefully from the Auto-Feed Mechanism (8) housing and remove

3. Allow the main mechanism to drop slightly

4. Clean with compressed air or a small brush especially the channel the Collated Screwdriver Bit (25) ﬁts into

5. Apply light grease to the Metal Guides (7)

6. Check parts are in good working condition

7. Re-position the Auto-Feed Mechanism in-line with the Metal Guides and reﬁt the Stopper Base

8. Do a quick check to make sure the Auto-Feed Mechanism is plunging normally. If not dis-assemble and re-assemble

Brushes

• Over time the carbon brushes inside the motor may become worn

• Excessively worn brushes may cause loss of power, intermittent failure, or visible sparking

1. To replace brushes, remove the four screws that secure the side of the handle indicated in Image B and remove the plastic panel

2. Remove the two carbon brushes held by the brush retainers indicated in Image C and ﬁt new brushes

3. Reﬁt plastic panel

4. Check tool is running normally. The carbon brushes may take a small amount of time to bed in and work optimally

Storage

• Store this tool carefully in a secure, dry place out of the reach of children

Disposal

Always adhere to national regulations when disposing of power tools that are no longer functional and are not viable for repair.

• Do not dispose of power tools, or other waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), with household waste

• Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the correct way to dispose of power tools

WAARSCHUWING: Bij een geluidsintensiteit van 85 dB(A) of hoger is het dragen van gehoorbescherming en het limiteren van de blootstellingstijd vereist. Bij oncomfortabel hoge geluidsniveaus, zelfs met het dragen van gehoorbescherming, stopt u het gebruik van de machine onmiddellijk. Controleer de pasvorm en het geluiddempingsniveau van de bescherming.

WAARSCHUWING: Blootstelling aan trilling resulteert mogelijk in gevoelloosheid, tinteling en een vermindert gripvermogen. Langdurige blootstelling kan leiden tot chronische condities. Limiteer de blootstellingsduur en draag anti-vibratie handschoenen. Vibratie heeft een grotere invloed op handen met een temperatuur lager dan een normale, comfortabele temperatuur. Maak gebruik van de informatie in de speciﬁcaties voor het bereken van de gebruiksduur en frequentie van de machine.

Geluid- en trillingsniveaus in de speciﬁcatie zijn vastgesteld volgens internationale norm. De waarden gelden voor een normaal gebruik in normale werkomstandigheden. Een slecht onderhouden, onjuist samengestelde of onjuist gebruikte machine produceert mogelijk hogere geluids- en trillingsniveaus. www.osha.europa.eu biedt informatie met betrekking tot geluids- en trillingsniveaus op de werkplek wat mogelijk nuttig is voor regelmatige gebruikers van machines.

Algemene veiligheid voor elektrisch gereedschap

WAARSCHUWING Lees alle bediening- en veiligheidsvoorschriften. Het niet opvolgen van alle

voorschriften die hieronder vermeld staan, kan resulteren in een elektrische schok, brand en/of ernstig letsel. WAARSCHUWING: De machine is niet geschikt voor gebruik door personen met een verminderde mentale

of fysieke gesteldheid of een gebrek aan ervaring, tenzij de persoon wordt begeleid of geïnstrueerd door een persoon verantwoordelijk voor de veiligheid

Bewaar deze voorschriften voor toekomstig gebruik. De term “elektrisch gereedschap” in alle hieronder vermelde waarschuwingen heeft betrekking op uw

elektrische gereedschap dat op de stroom is aangesloten (met een snoer) of met een accu wordt gevoed (snoerloos).

Kinderen mogen niet met de machine spelen

1) Veiligheid in de werkruimte

a) Houd de werkruimte schoon en zorg voor een goede verlichting. Rommelige en donkere ruimtes

leiden vaak tot ongelukken.

b) Werk niet met elektrisch gereedschap in explosieve omgevingen, bijvoorbeeld in de aanwezigheid

van ontvlambare vloeistoffen, gassen of stof. Elektrisch gereedschap brengt vonken teweeg die stof of dampen kunnen doen ontbranden.

c) Houd kinderen en omstanders uit de buurt wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap bedient. Door

aﬂeiding kunt u de controle over het gereedschap verliezen.

2) Elektrische veiligheid a) De stekkers van het elektrische gereedschap moeten passen bij het stopcontact. Pas de stekker

niet aan. Gebruik geen adapterstekkers bij geaard elektrisch gereedschap. Het gebruik van

ongewijzigde stekkers en passende stopcontacten vermindert het risico op een elektrische schok.

b) Vermijd lichamelijk contact met geaarde oppervlakken zoals pijpen, radiatoren, fornuizen en

koelkasten. Het risico op een elektrische schok neemt toe als uw lichaam geaard wordt.

c) Laat elektrisch gereedschap niet nat worden. Wanneer elektrisch gereedschap nat wordt, neemt het

risico op een elektrische schok toe.

d) Beschadig het snoer niet. Gebruik het snoer nooit om het elektrisch gereedschap te dragen, te

trekken of om de stekker uit het stopcontact te trekken. Houd het snoer uit de buurt van hitte, olie, scherpe randen of bewegende delen. Een beschadigde of in de knoop geraakte snoer verhoogt het risico op een elektrische schok toe.

e) Wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap buiten gebruikt, maak dan gebruik van een verlengsnoer

dat geschikt is voor gebruik buitenshuis. Gebruik een verlengsnoer dat geschikt is voor gebruik buitenshuis om het risico op een elektrische schok te verminderen.

f) Indien het onvermijdelijk is elektrisch gereedschap te gebruiken in een vochtige omgeving,

gebruik dan een energiebron met een aardlekschakelaar (Residual Currency Device). Het gebruik van een RCD vermindert het risico op een elektrische schok.

3) Persoonlijke veiligheid

a) Blijf alert en gebruik uw gezonde verstand wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap bedient. Gebruik

het elektrisch gereedschap niet wanneer u vermoeid bent of onder invloed bent van drugs, alcohol of medicijnen. Onoplettendheid tijdens het bedienen van elektrisch gereedschap kan leiden tot ernstig letsel.

b) Maak gebruik van persoonlijke bescherming. Draag altijd een veiligheidsbril. Passende

bescherming voor de omstandigheden, zoals een stofmasker, niet-slippende veiligheidsschoenen een helm of gehoorbescherming, vermindert het risico op persoonlijk letsel.

c) Zorg ervoor dat het apparaat niet per ongeluk wordt gestart. Controleer of de schakelaar in de ‘uit’

stand staat voordat u de stekker in het stopcontact steekt. Het dragen van elektrisch gereedschap met uw vinger op de schakelaar of het aansluiten op de stroom van elektrisch gereedschap met de schakelaar ingeschakeld kan tot ongelukken leiden.

d) Verwijder alle stel- of moersleutels voordat u het elektrische gereedschap inschakelt. Een moer- of

stelsleutel die zich op een draaiend onderdeel van het elektrische gereedschap bevindt, kan leiden tot letsel.

e) Reik niet te ver. Blijf altijd stevig en in balans staan. Zo houdt u meer controle over het elektrische

gereedschap in onverwachte situaties.

f) Draag geschikte kleding. Draag geen loshangende kleding of sieraden. Houd haren, kleding en

handschoenen uit de buurt van bewegende delen. Loshangende kleding, sieraden en los hangende haren kunnen vast komen te zitten in bewegende delen.

g) Als er onderdelen voor stofafvoer- en stofverzameling worden meegeleverd, sluit deze dan aan en

gebruik deze op de juiste wijze. Het gebruik van deze onderdelen kan het risico op stof gerelateerde ongelukken verminderen.

4) Gebruik en verzorging van elektrisch gereedschap

a) Forceer elektrisch gereedschap niet. Gebruik elektrisch gereedschap dat geschikt is voor het werk

dat u wilt uitvoeren. Geschikt elektrisch gereedschap werkt beter en veiliger op een passende snelheid.

b) Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap niet als de schakelaar van het apparaat niet in- en

uitschakelt. Elektrisch gereedschap dat niet bediend kan worden met de schakelaar is gevaarlijk en

moet gerepareerd worden.

c) Haal de stekker uit het stopcontact voordat u instellingen aanpast, toebehoren verwisselt of het

elektrische gereedschap opbergt. Dergelijke voorzorgsmaatregelen verminderen het risico op het per ongeluk starten van het elektrische gereedschap.

d) Berg elektrisch gereedschap dat niet in gebruik is op buiten bereik van kinderen en laat mensen

die niet bekend zijn met het elektrische gereedschap of met deze instructies het elektrische gereedschap niet bedienen. Elektrisch gereedschap is gevaarlijk in de handen van onervaren

gebruikers.

e) Onderhoud uw elektrisch gereedschap. Controleer op foutieve uitlijning of het vastslaan van

bewegende delen, gebroken onderdelen en elke andere afwijking die de werking van het elektrische gereedschap zou kunnen beïnvloeden. Indien het elektrische gereedschap beschadigd is,

moet u het laten repareren voordat u het weer gebruikt. Veel ongelukken worden veroorzaakt door slecht onderhouden elektrisch gereedschap.

f) Houd snijwerktuigen scherp en schoon. Goed onderhouden snijwerktuigen met scherpe messen slaan

minder snel vast en zijn gemakkelijker te bedienen.

g) Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap, de accessoires en onderdelen, etc. volgens deze instructies

en volgens bestemming voor het speciﬁeke type elektrisch gereedschap, en houd daarbij rekening met de werkomstandigheden en het uit te voeren werk. Gebruik van elektrisch gereedschap voor

werkzaamheden die verschillen van die waarvoor het apparaat bestemd is, kan leiden tot gevaarlijke situaties.

5) Accu machine gebruik en onderhoud

a) Laad de accu enkel met de door de fabrikant gespeciﬁceerde accu op. Het gebruik van een accu,

geschikt voor één accusoort, voor een andere accusoort resulteert mogelijk in brand

b) Gebruik accu machines enkel met speciﬁek bedoelde accu’s. Het gebruik van andere accu’s

resulteert mogelijk in persoonlijk letsel en brand

c) Wanneer een accu niet gebruik is, houdt u deze uit de buurt van metalen voorwerpen als

paperclips, munten, spijkers, schroeven, etc. Het kortsluiten van een accu resulteert mogelijk in brand Wanneer accuvloeistoffen in uw ogen terecht komt, zoekt u onmiddellijk medische hulp. Accuvloeistoffen veroorzaken mogelijk irritatie en brandend gevoel

d) Misbruik van de accu resulteert mogelijk in vloeistof uitstoot. Voorkom contact. Spoel, wanneer

contact plaatsgevonden heeft, onmiddellijk met water. Wanneer de vloeistof in uw ogen terecht komt zoekt u onmiddellijk medische hulp. Accuvloeistoffen veroorzaken mogelijk irritatie en brandend gevoel

6) Onderhoud

a) Laat uw elektrische gereedschap onderhouden door een gekwaliﬁceerde vakman en gebruik

alleen identieke vervangstukken. Zo bent u er zeker van dat de veiligheid van het elektrische

gereedschap gewaarborgd blijft.

Schroefautomaat veiligheid

WAARSCHUWING: Laat personen jonger dan 18 jaar de boorhamer niet gebruiken. Tevens horen alle gebruikers met de gebruik- en veiligheidsinstructies bekend te zijn

a) Gebruik wanneer mogelijk de hulphandvaten. Het verliezen van de controle over de machine resulteert

mogelijk in persoonlijk letsel

b) Houdt de machine bij de geïsoleerde grip vast, wanneer de machine tijdens gebruik in contact kan

komen met stroomdraad. Aanraking met stroomdraad kan resulteren in elektrische schok c) Houd de machine met beide handen vast d) Ontkoppel de machine van de stroombron voordat u schroefriemen vervangt e) Opladers zijn enkel geschikt voor binnen gebruik. Zorg ervoor dat de stroombron en oplader te allen

tijde beschermt zijn tegen vocht f) Verlengkabels die in combinatie met de machine gebruikt worden horen volledig uitgepakt te

worden. Minimale aderdikte: 1,0 mm2 g) Bij het gebruik van de machine is de geschikte beschermende uitrusting, waaronder een

veiligheidsbril, gehoorbescherming, handschoenen aanbevolen. Wanneer het boren stof produceert

draagt u een stofmasker h) Wanneer de machine buiten gebruikt wordt, sluit u deze aan op een stroombron met een

aardlekschakelaar en gebruikt u verlengkabel met een minimale aderdikte van 1,5 mm met

waterdichte beschermende stekkers i) Gebruik metaal- en spanningszoekers voor het vinden van verborgen water- , gas- en/of

elektrische leidingen. Vermijdt het contact met componenten die onder spanning staan j) Zorg voor voldoende verlichting k) Oefen geen overmatige druk op de machine uit. Het uitvoeren van een overmatige druk verkort de

levensduur l) Wanneer u tijdens het gebruik van de machine gestoord wordt, maakt u het werk af en schakelt u

de machine uit voordat u opkijkt m) Controleer bouten, moeren en andere bevestigingsmiddelen regelmatig en draai deze wanneer

nodig vast n) Ontkoppel de machine van de stroombron wanneer het werk voltooid is

Gebruiksdoel

Met het gebruik van de schroefautomaat is de elektrische boormachine geschikt voor het indraaien van schroeven in gipsplaat en licht hout met een lage dichtheid. Met het gebruik van de diepte stopkraag, bithouder en 25 mm lang ¼” schroef bit, is de machine tevens te gebruiken als elektrische schroevendraaier.

Het uitpakken van uw gereedschap

• Pak uw toestel / gereedschap uit. Inspecteer het en zorg dat u met alle kenmerken en functies vertrouwd raakt

• Controleer of alle onderdelen aanwezig zijn en in goede staat verkeren. Als er onderdelen ontbreken of beschadigd zijn, zorg dan dat deze vervangen worden voor u dit toestel / gereedschap gebruik

Voorafgaand aan het gebruik

WAARSCHUWING: Zorg ervoor dat de machine ontkoppeld is van de stroombron voordat u accessoires

verwisselt of enig onderhoud uitvoert

Samenstelling voor schroefautomaat gebruik

1. Druk het schroef bit (25) stevig in de bithouder van de machine (Afb. A). Het bit wordt in plaats gehouden door het bal lager mechanisme

2. Plaats het schroefautomaat mechanisme (8) voorzichtig over het schroef bit. Het schroefautomaat mechanisme kan in verschillende hoeken bevestigd worden, afhankelijk van het uit te voeren werk. In de normale positie valt het onderste schroefriem kanaal (19) in lijn met het handvat van de machine. Drie ballagers vergrendelen het schroefautomaat mechanisme op de machine. Het mechanisme klikt simpelweg in plaats en is van de machine af te trekken

3. Om het schroefautomaat mechanisme op de gewenste schroeﬂengte in te stellen, houdt u de schroeﬂengte stelknop (4) ingedrukt en schuift u deze naar voren of achteren in de gewenste positie, terwijl u de stopper basis (21) vast houd. De schroeﬂengte wordt aangeduid op de schaalverdeling (5) en kan versteld worden van 25 tot 50 mm, in 5 mm stappen

4. Voed de schroefriem (20) door het onderste riemkanaal (19) en in de onderzijde van het schroefriem kanaal (3).

Samenstelling voor dieptestop gebruik

1. Trek het schroefautomaat mechanisme (8) van de boormachine

2. Verwijder het schroevendraaier bit (25). De kraaggaten (24) van de dieptestop kraag (22) zijn te gebruiken voor het grijpen van het schroevendraaier bit wanneer deze moeilijk uit de bithouder van de machine te trekken is (Afb. A)

3. Plaats het bithouder verlengstuk (23) in de bithouder van de machine

4. Plaats een ¼” PH2 schroevendraaier bit in het verlengstuk

5. Bevestig de dieptestop door deze simpelweg over de bithouder van de machine te plaatsen (Afb. A)

Gebruik

WAARSCHUWING: Bij het gebruik van de machine is het dragen van de geschikte beschermende uitrusting,

waaronder een stofmasker, gehoorbescherming en beschermende handschoenen aanbevolen

Hoofd eenheid

Rotatierichting

De rotatierichting is aan te passen met behulp van de rotatierichting schakelaar (14)

• Verplaats de schakelaar niet wanneer de machine in gebruik is

• Zorg ervoor dat de schakelaar volledig naar links of rechts geschakeld is

Snelheidscontrole

• De maximale rotatiesnelheid van de machine is aan te passen met behulp van het snelheidslimiet controlewiel (16). De machine snelheid wordt geregeld met de trekker schakelaar (15)

• Het snelheidslimiet controlewiel geeft ‘+’ of ‘-‘ weer om de snelheid te verhogen of verlagen

Trekker schakelaar

• Om de machine te starten, knijpt u de trekker schakelaar (15) in. Knijp de schakelaar verder in voor een hogere rotatiesnelheid

• Om de machine te stoppen laat u de trekker schakelaar los

Aan-stand vergrendelknop

• Het schroefautomaat mechanisme is voorzien van een aan-stand vergrendelknop (17). Hiermee kunt u de trekker schakelaar (15) in de aan-stand vergrendelen. Dit is erg handig voor toepassingen waarbij een lange inschakeling vereist is

• Houdt de trekker schakelaar ingeknepen en druk op de vergrendelknop. De trekker schakelaar is nu in de aan-stand vergrendeld

• Om de schakelaar te ontgrendelen knijpt u de trekker schakelaar in en laat u deze gelijk weer los

Druk koppeling

• Het mechanisme is voorzien van een interne drukkoppeling. Deze wordt ingeschakeld wanneer de aandrijving tegen de schroefkop wordt aangedrukt, met gebruik van het schroefautomaat mechanisme (8) of individuele schroeven

BELANGRIJK: De drukkoppeling wordt ingeschakeld bij het uitvoeren van een erg lichte druk. Ben voorzichtig tijdens gebruik

Schroefautomaat mechanisme

Schroeﬂengte verstelling

Voor het verstellen van de schroeﬂengte, drukt u de lengte stelknop (4) in en verstelt u de lengte positie door de stopper basis (21) de duwen of te trekken.

Schroefdiepte verstelling Voor het verstellen van de schroefdiepte, zodat de schroef kop in de juiste positie in het gipsplaat/hout valt,

draait u aan het diepte stelwiel (9). Gebruik wanneer nodig afvalmateriaal om te controleren of de instelling juist is

Schroefautomaat werking

Opzet

1. Zorg ervoor dat de schroef in lijn valt met de schroef middelpunt indicator (1)

2. Stel de diepteverstelling in de middenpositie.

3. Stel het snelheidslimiet controlewiel (16) in de maximale positie voor het eerste gebruik

4. Plaats de rotatierichting schakelaar (14) in de voorwaartse positie om de schroeven in het werkstuk te draaien

Het gebruik van het schroefautomaat mechanisme

1. Plaats de stopper basis (21) recht op de eerste schroefpositie

2. Gebruik de schroef middelpunt indicator (1) voor een nauwkeurige positionering

3. Houdt de machine bij het geïsoleerde handvat (18) en de uitsparing tussen het schroefautomaat mechanisme (8) en machine versnellingsbak vast

Houd de machine NIET dichtbij enig blootgesteld mechanisch gebied of de schroeven van het schroefautomaat mechanisme

Houd de machine NIET bij de machine versnellingsbak vast wanneer het contact met elektrische kabels tijdens gebruik mogelijk is

4. Knijp de trekker schakelaar (15) in om de machine te starten. Knijp de trekker schakelaar voor elke schroeﬁngang in, of vergrendel de machine in de aan-stand met gebruik van de aan-stand vergrendelknop (17)

5. Druk de stopper basis voorzichtig tegen het materiaal zodat het mechanisme wordt ingedrukt en het schroefbit in de schroef koppelt. Het binnenste deel van het mechanisme wordt ondergedompeld in het buitenste deel van het mechanisme en de aandrijving op de boormachine(11) wordt vrijgegeven

6. Wanneer de schroef compleet in het werkstuk gedraaid is neemt u de stopper basis voorzichtig van het materiaal zodat het mechanisme volledig verlengd is

7. Nadat de eerste schroef ingedraaid is, versteld u de schroefdiepte. Verstel de schroeﬂengte wanneer vereist

8. Het schroefautomaat systeem zorgt ervoor dat de volgende schroef direct in het werkstuk gedraaid kan worden

Opmerkingen

• Zorg ervoor dat materiaal stevig staat. Klem het materiaal wanneer nodig met behulp van een bankschroef of klem vast

• De schroeftechniek kan verbeterd worden door het gebruik van de machine op lagere snelheid tijdens het koppelen van de schroef. Verhoog de druk op de trekker schakelaar wanneer de schroef in het materiaal gedraaid wordt. Dit minimaliseert de slijtage van het schroef bit (12)

• Het is aanbevolen op afvalmateriaal te oefenen om bekent te raken met de gebruikswijze van de machine

LET OP: Het voedmechanisme is niet ontworpen voor harde materialen. De eenheid is geschikt voor het gebruik op gipsplaat en zachtere materialen met een lage dichtheid. De machine werkt mogelijk op hardere materialen, vooral wanneer verticaal gebruikt, maar is mogelijk problematisch bij zulke materialen. De machine is niet geschikt voor het monteren van gipsplaat en hout op beton en metaal. Dit is geen machinefout

LET OP: Overmatige druk op de machine resulteert niet in sneller en efﬁciënter schroeven. Wanneer de uitgeoefende druk een merkbare invloed heeft op de snelheid van de machine, verlaagd u de druk. Overbelasting verminderd de levensduur van de eenheid

Dieptestop gebruik

De machine is te gebruiken voor het individueel in- en uitdraaien van schroeven. De dieptestop kraag (23) zorgt ervoor dat de schroeven tot de juiste diepte ingedraaid worden

1. Zorg ervoor dat het juiste 25 mm lange schroef bit in het bithouder verlengstuk (26) geplaatst is en dat de dieptestop kraag op de machine bevestigd is

2. Stel de rotatierichting schakelaar (14) in de juiste positie

3. Bij de meeste werkzaamheden stelt u het snelheidslimiet controlewiel (16) in de maximale stand

4. Plaats de punt van het schroef bit in de schroefkop

5. Oefen een lichte druk op de trekker schakelaar (15) en op de schroefkop uit om de aandrijving vrij te geven

Let op: Wanneer u gewend raakt aan de machine kunt u een snellere rotatiesnelheid gebruiken Let op: Voor het gebruik als een normale elektrische schroevendraaier zonder dieptestop, vervangt u het

bithouder verlengstuk voor een langere bithouder of gebruikt u ¼” bits, langer dan 25 mm

Onderhoud

WAARSCHUWING: Ontkoppel de machine van de stroombron voordat u de machine schoonmaakt of enig

onderhoud uitvoert

Algemene inspectie

• Controleer regelmatig of alle bevestigingsmiddelen nog goed vast zitten. Door vibratie kunnen ze na enige tijd los gaan zitten

• Inspecteer het stroomsnoer voor elk gebruik op slijtage en beschadiging. Reparaties dienen uitgevoerd worden bij een geautoriseerd GMC service center. Dit geld tevens voor verlengsnoeren, gebruikt met de machine

Schoonmaak

• Houd uw machine te allen tijde schoon. Vuil en stof doen de interne onderdelen snel slijten, wat de levensduur aanzienlijk vermindert. Maak de machine met een zachte borstel of droge doek schoon. Gebruik wanneer mogelijk zuivere, droge perslucht om door de luchtgaten te blazen

• Maak de behuizing met een vochtige doek en een licht schoonmaakmiddel schoon. Gebruik geen alcohol, benzine of hardnekkig schoonmaakmiddel

• Gebruik geen bijtende stoffen voor het schoonmaken van plastic onderdelen

Het schoonmaken en smeren van het mechanisme

Het schroefautomaat mechanisme (8) vereist mogelijk regelmatige schoonmaak en de metalen geleiders (7) vereisen regelmatige smering

1. Verwijder de schroefriem (20)

2. Druk de schroeﬂengte stelknop (4) omlaag en trek de stopper basis (21) voorzichtig van de schroefautomaat mechanisme (8) behuizing en verwijder

3. Laat het hoofdmechanisme licht zakken

4. Maak met perslucht of een kleine borstel schoon, vooral het kanaal waar het schroef bit (25) ingedrukt

wordt

5. Breng vet op de metalen geleiders (7) aan

6. Controleer of de onderdelen in goede staat verkeren

7. Herpositioneer het schroefautomaat mechanisme in lijn met de metalen geleiders en bevestig de stopper basis

8. Controleer of het schroefautomaat mechanisme normaal vrij in te drukken is. Wanneer het systeem niet vrij in te drukken is, haalt u het systeem opnieuw uit elkaar en stelt u het opnieuw samen

Koolstofborstels

• Na verloop van tijd zullen de koolborstels in de motor verslijten.

• Bij overmatige slijtage van de borstels verliest de motor mogelijk vermogen, start het niet meer, en/ of produceert het overmatig vonken

1. Om de borstels te vervangen verwijdert u de vier schroeven aan de zijkant van het handvat, als afgebeeld op afbeelding B. Neem het plastic paneel van de machine

2. Verwijder de twee koolstofborstels als afgebeeld op afbeelding C en plaats de nieuwe koolstofborstels in de machine

3. Plaats het plastic paneel terug op de machine en draai de vier schroeven vast

4. Controleer of de machine juist functioneert. Het duurt mogelijk even voordat de borstels ingewerkt zijn en optimaal functioneren

Opberging

• Berg de machine op een droge en veilige plek, buiten het bereik van kinderen op

Bij de verwijdering van elektrische machines neemt u de nationale voorschriften in acht.
