1. SAFETY
This STB has been manufactured to satisfy the international safety standards. Please read the following safety precautions carefully.
MAINS SUPPLY: 100 - 250V AC 50/60Hz OVERLOADING: Do not overload wall outlet, extension cord or adapter as this may
result in fire or electric shock. LIQUIDS: Keep liquids away from the STB. The apparatus shall not be exposed to
dripping or splashing and that no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus.
CLEANING: Disconnect the STB from the wall outlet before cleaning .Use a light damp cloth (no solvents) to dust the STB.
VENTILATION: The slots on top of the STB must be left uncovered to allow proper airflow to the unit. Do not stand the STB on soft furnishings or carpets. Do not expose the STB to direct sunlight or do not place it near a heater. Do not stack electronic equipments on top of the STB.
ATTACHMENTS: Do not use any attachments that are not recommended as these may cause hazard or damage the STB.
CONNECTION TO THE SATELLITE DISH LNB: Disconnect the STB from the mains before connecting or disconnecting the cable from the satellite dish. FAILURE TO DO SO CAN DAMAGE THE LNB.
CONNECTION TO THE TV: Disconnect the STB from the mains before connecting or disconnecting the cable from the satellite dish. FAILURE TO DO SO CAN DAMAGE THE TV.
EARTHING: The LNB cable MUST BE EARTHED to the system earth for the satellite dish.
LOCATION: Place the STB indoor in order not to expose to lightening, rain or sunlight.

Opticum 4000TS, Opticum 4100TS, Opticum 4000TSCR, Opticum 4100TSCR:
AERIAL OUT (optional): This enables the connection of another receiver. AERIAL IN (optional): This port is to connect the coaxial cable from terrestrial antenna.
LOOP OUT: This enables the connection of another receiver. 13/18V 500mA MAX LNB IN: This port is to connect the coaxial cable from LNB of your Dish. VIDEO: This RCA connector is used to connect any external video. 0-12V: This is used to Connect 12V to an external 0V/12V switch. AUDIO R/L: These RCA connectors are used to connect any external audio amp or system. RS 232C SERIAL PORT: This is used to connect your receiver to a computer through

a serial cable.
TV: This is used to connect your TV through SCART cable. SPDIF: Digital Audio interface, connect to AV amplifier SPDIF (optical) input terminal. ANT IN (optional): Connect to Analog TV antenna. TV OUT (optional): This is used to connect your TV through RF cable.
8. Connecting Your System
How to connect your STB to various systems
There are several ways of connecting the STB to your TV, VCR and/or Hi-Fi SYSTEM. Consult your local supplier for assistance in setting-up your system that is best suited to your requirements.
Connect STB to a TV set
Connect your STB to a TV set with SCART, if your TV set is equipped for it. Alternatively you can use A/V, TV out (UHF) or S/Video jacks.
Connect STB to a VCR
Connect the SCART jack from the VCR to the back of your STB. Alternatively you can use A/V, TV out (UHF) or S/Video jacks.
Connect STB to a Hi-Fi System
Connect a RCA stereo cable from the AUDIO L/R jacks, S/PDIF on your STB to the LINE, AUX, SPARE or EXTRA input jacks on your Hi-Fi System.
Connect STB to a Digital Audio System
If you have a DAC with S/PDIF coaxial cable input, you can connect the STB with it to enjoy higher quality sound. Connect S/PDIF coaxial cable to a digital amplifier.
Loop Through
If you have another analogue or digital STB and you wish to use the same LNB then you can connect it via the loop through. Connect one end of the coaxial cable to the Loop Through on the STB and connect the other end to the LNB IN on your second STB.

9. GETTING STARTED
Easy Install
Press the POWER button to operate the receiver from “Standby” mode. If you did not install it before, the “Easy Install” Menu will be displayed automatically to guide you to install your box and dish.
*Notice: There are two parts, Box Setting and Install Setting. Please follow the indication in this menu one step by one.
Box Setting Language
Choose Menu Language. Go to next.
Time Setting
Set Current Time. Go to next.
Parental Control
Set Password, Receiver Lock and Censorship Classification. Go to next to enter in Install Setting.
Install Setting
Choo se one from the following items: “Install your dish”, “Automatic install satellite and search channel” and “Manually install satellite and search channel”.
Install your dish
a. Install one satellite, Press RED button to
edit it. In edit menu you can check signal. This function is very useful for installing your dish. It will automatically calculate the elevation and azimuth for certain satellite according to the local longitude and latitude you entered. Set the longitude and latitude by pressing 0~9 and LEFT /RIGHT button, and you get the elevation and azimuth information from the menu. Then go to next.
b. Adjust your dish depend on the intensity
and quality. Press RED button to edit satellite as above, press OK button to select TP. Go to next.
c. Adjust your dish depend on the SNR and
BER. Press RED button to edit satellite as above, press OK button to select TP. Go to next.
d. Choose one from the following items:
“Install another satellite” and “Complete installing dish and search channels”. For “Install another satellite”, you need to install another satellite the above step by step. For “Complete installing dish and search channels”, you need to set the Scan Mode and Network, then press OK button to do scan.

Automatic install satellite and search channel
The receiver will detect your antenna and search available signals and download services for you automatically.
Manually install satellite and search channel
You need to choose your interested satellites and set right parameters for LNB Type, 22KHz Tone, 12V, DiSEqC1.0 or Motorized DiSEqC1.2 or USALS items, then press RED button to do scan to complete install. For more details, please check chapter “Installation” of “Menu Operations”.

Services
Organizing Services
The menu displays as the following:
- Service list, Group information
- Operating frame with Move, Lock, Delete,
Rename, Skip functions
Operations: LEFT/RIGHT button: switch frame from service list to operating frame or verse
RED button: enter “Group” menu to switch service group GREEN button: enter “Options” menu for 4 shortcuts for choosing services:
Select All: select all services under current list Unselect All: unselect all selected services Select Others: select services except those
been selected Select by TP: select services belonging to certain transponder only
TV/RADIO button: switch from TV service list to the Radio service list or verse
FIND button: quickly find service by the name UP/ DOWN, P+/P-, OK button: browse service
list and select some
INFO button: check detail information of current service
Move: select one or more services and press RIGHT button to select MOVE icon. Press UP/DOWN, P+/P-, 0~9 button to move the
selected service to where you want to locate, then all the selected services will be reordered and move to the new location one by one.
Lock: select one or more services and press RIGHT button to select LOCK icon. The symbol LOCK will be displayed at the end of the
service name, which means the service is locked and need to enter password to view. Remove: select one or more services and press RIGHT button to select REMOVE icon. The selected services will be removed from the database forever. Rename: select one or more services and press RIGHT button to select RENAME icon. “Rename” menu will be displayed, you can enter new name through keyboard submenu.
Skip: select one or more services and press RIGHT button to select SKIP icon. The symbol SKIP will be displayed at the end of the service
name, which means the service will be skipped when you browse services without any menu by pressing UP/DOWN button.
Organizing Favourites
You can organize all 8 FAV group services in this menu. The menu displays as the following:
- Service list, Group information
- Operating frame with Move, Lock, Delete,
Rename, Skip functions

- FAV service list, FAV information Operations: LEFT/RIGHT button: switch frame between
service list, operating frame, FAV service list RED button: enter “Group” menu to switch service group GREEN button: enter “Options” menu for 4 shortcuts for choosing services:
-Select All: select all services under current list
-Unselect All: unselect all selected services
-Select Others: select services except those been selected
-Select by TP: select services belonging to certain transponder only

LEFT button to select MOVE icon. Press UP/DOWN, P+/P- button to move the selected
service to where you want to locate, then all the selected services will be reordered and move to the new location in current FAV group service list one by one. MOVE TO FAV GROUP: select one or more services and press RIGHT button to select RIGHT MOVE icon. The selected services will be added to current FAV group. REMOVE FROM FAV GROUP: select one or more FAV services and press LEFT button to select LEFT MOVE icon. The selected services will be removed from current FAV group list, but still remain in database and belong to other FAV groups it was belonging to.
RENAME:
rename FAV group. Go to operating frame and
select RENAME icon. “Rename” menu will be displayed, you can enter new FAV name through keyboard submenu.

Satellite Installation
Manual Installation
“Manual Installation” menu is organized in the way for user to install & scan satellites /transponders easily. In all menus of “Manual Installation”, real-time signal level and quality (BER) is displayed all the time for more friendly setting. There are three main submenus:
Main window
The
menu displays as the following:
- Satellite list
- Indication frame with Antenna, 12V, 22KHz,
DiSEqC, Motor information for current satellite
- A map for the location of satellite We supply the following functions:
A. Scan
1. Use OK button to select one or more satellites at one time, then press RED button, an “Scan” menu will be displayed for you to select Scan Mode (ALL, FTAL, FTA_TV, ALL_TV) and Network (NIT OFF, NIT ON) options by LEFT/RIGHT button.
2. Press OK button to start scan.
3. During scanning, you can use RED button to stop scan, use YELLOW button to pause scan and GREEN button to resume scanning.
4. When scanning finished, a message box will be displayed asking you whether to save the modification before exit. Press YES button to save and NO button to abort.
B. Auto DiSEqC
This function is very useful to easy installing your system without knowledge of what kind

of signal or LNB your receiver is connected to. Press BLUE button, it will automatically detect DiSEqC connecting and set the right configuration of LNB as well. In less than 1 minute, it will show you the connecting status, you just need to press OK button to scan the connected satellites if any.
C. Edit
Press GREEN button to enter next main part: “Edit Satellite” menu.
D. TP
Press YELLOW button to enter next main part: “Transponder” menu.
Edit Satellite
The menu displays as the following:
- Satellite setup menu
- Indication picture for the connecting of
antenna and DiSEqC switcher, Motorized system.
We supply the following functions:
1. Press RED button to scan certain satellite
2. Press GREEN button to enter keyboard menu to rename certain satellite
3. Press BLUE button to enter “Auto DiSEqC” menu to check your dish connecting
4. Setup satellite’s parameters as the following:
- Satellite: Remand certain satellite by using
GREEN button;
- Longitude: The angle of satellite’s
longitude is can not be changed;
- TP: Select the TP of certain satellite. Press
OK button to select one from the list or
press LEFT/RIGHT button to switch one by one
- LNB: Select the LNB (value & type) on
antenna. Press OK button to select one from the list or press LEFT/RIGHT button to switch one by one
Notice: When you select Uni. (9750 /10600), both 9750 and 10600MHz are supported at the same time, the 22KHz Tone setting is unnecessary(disabled), because high or low band is selected by 22KHz automatically
- 22KHz: Press OK or LEFT/RIGHT to turn 22KHz Tone switcher on or off.
Notice: When you use a dual LNB or two antennas connected to a 22KHz Tone switch box, make 22KHz Tone switch on or off to select LNB or antenna.
- 12V: Press OK or LEFT/RIGHT to turn 12V switcher on or off
- DiSEqC 1.0/1.1: According to the option and position of DiSEqC switcher, select OFF(disabled), DiSEqC A to D by OK or LEFT/RIGHT button, it supports up to 16 antennas connected to the receiver at the same time.
- Motor: Press OK or LEFT/RIGHT to set motor on or off; press YELLOW button to enter “Motor” menu
Motor Menu:
a) Motor Type
Press LEFT/RIGHT button, you can select DiSEqC1.2 or USALS (DiSEqC1.3), according to the motorized DiSEqC system you are using.
b) Satellite
Select a satellite name that can be used to identify a motor position by pressing OK or LEFT/RIGHT button. The longitude of current satellite will be shown too.
c) TP
Press OK or LEFT/RIGHT button, you can select one transponder from current transponder list to locate the signal.
d) Setup Motor

DiSEqC1.2
a. Move Continuously
Press LEFT/RIGHT button on this item, you can continuously drive the motor to West (LEFT) or East (RIGHT). It will stop under three circumstances: it found signal strong enough, it meets the limitation you set (see “Set Limit” for more details), or you release the LEFT/RIGHT button. If it found signal and stop, you can adjust the position by drive the motor step by step (see “Move Step” for more details) to get best signal and then store the best position (see “Store Position” for more details).
b. Move Step
Press LEFT/RIGHT button on this item, you can drive the motor to West (LEFT) or East (RIGHT) step by step ( the step is set to 1 by default ).
c. Store Position
Press OK button on this item to store the current position of the motor for the selected satellite.
d. Set Limit
Press LEFT/RIGHT button to change function to “West”(set west limitation), “East”(set east limitation) or “Disable”(remove all limitations). Press OK button to execute the setting.
e. Goto Reference
Press OK button to drive the motor going to reference position.
After you install your motorized DiSEqC system well and got signal strong enough, press RED button to scan it.
USALS
USALS is very convenient motorized DiSEqC system that supports DiSEqC1.3 command and also can get the satellite position automatically if you know your geographical location. Basically, the listed satellites have its Longitude and therefore the angle of the satellite can be calculated without problem. If you have USALS motorized system, then you can use the USALS as followings.
a. My Longitude
It means the longitude of your location. You can set the angle “East” or “West” will be selected by LEFT/RIGHT button.
b. My Latitude
It means the latitude of your location. You can set the angle by 0-9 buttons, “South” or “North” will be selected by LEFT/RIGHT button.
c. Goto Reference
Press OK button to go to the reference position.
d. Move
Press OK button to drive the motor to the exact position corresponding to the satellite position you are entered.
e. Store
Press OK button to store current position of the motor for the selected satellite
- Power: Press OK or LEFT/RIGHT button to set LNB power as OFF, 13, 18, 13/18, 14, 19, 14/19.
Transponder

The menu displays as the following:
- Transponder list
- Indication frame for the information of
current satellite
We supply the following functions:
A. Scan
1. You can use UP/DOWN, P+/P- buttons to browse the transponder list and press OK button to select one or more transponders at one time, then press RED button. An “Scan Option” menu will be displayed for you to select Scan Mode (FTA, ALL, FTA_TV, ALL_TV) and Network (NIT OFF, NIT ON) options by LEFT/RIGHT button. Be noticed that if you select only one transponder, you are able to scan certain service only by putting certain VidPID, AudPID and PcrPID by manual.
2. Press OK button to scan selected transponder(s).
B. Add / Edit
Press GREEN or YELLOW button, you can edit the parameters.

FEC: Use LEFT/RIGHT button to select the Forward Error Correction (1/2, 2/3, 3/4, 5/6 or 7/8) if you are sure about the value, otherwise please select AUTO, software will automatically detect it for you.
C. Delete
Select one or more transponders you don’t need any more by pressing OK button. Then press BLUE button to delete them. Be noticed that all services belonging to the deleted transponder will be deleted too.
D. Services
Press INFO button, you can check services (TV and Radio) belonging to current transponder if any.
Auto Installation
“Auto Installation” is a very new and convenient function. It will automatically detect

all dishes connecting to this machine and scan the available services belonging to the satellite matched according to satellites and transponders data in current database. You don’t have to input any parameter of your antenna settings. Just press OK button to enter this “Auto Installation” menu then it starts scanning and shows you the result at the end of scanning. And it is very fast.
Auto Update
“Auto Update” is also a very new and fantastic function. It will automatically download new services, transponders belonging to the matched satellites connecting to this machine. You just press OK button to enter this “Auto Update” menu then it starts scanning and shows you the result at the end of scanning. But it will take longer time than “Auto Installation”.
Guidence of installing a dish
This is the same as the “Install your dish” part in “Easy Install”.
Terrestrial Installation (OPTIONAL)
Select installation under the Main Menu with Left and Right key, then press OK to confirm.
Auto Scan
In this menu, the receiver will scan the all transponders installed automatically.
Manual Scan
In this menu, you can use UP/DOWN key to switch transponder.
Press YELLOW key to edit, add or delete once a transponder in the list.
Press RED key to scan all selected transponders in the list.
Ant Config

In this menu, you can press LEFT/RIGHT key to select the Region and set the “Antenna Power” on or off.
CA Settings (OPTIONAL)
Receiver has build in smart card module with CONAX system. By using cards in this system provided by operators, it is possible to watch many scrambled channels coded in this system. This menu shows detailed information about card inserted into card reader module. It allows to check all available information about card inserted according to help messages visible on the bottom of the screen.
NOTE: All information showed in this menu and submenu are coming from inserted card. In case if anything is wrong, it could be card problem. After inserting the card correctly at any time, a message-box will show on the screen with message about detecting the card, in “Card Info” menu all available information will be displayed.
Factory Default
Factory default
Press OK button to load default data to current database. Press MENU/EXIT button to abort the operation.
Factory reset
Press OK button to do factory reset, which will recover all database to the same as factory default settings, then it will automatically go to “Easy Install” menu to re-install your system. Press MENU/EXIT button to abort the operation.

12. Preference
The “Preference” menu supports the receiver internal settings according to the connection of the receiver and external units. This menu includes “Language”, “Parental Control”, “Time Setting”, “A/V Control”, “UHF Setting” and “Miscellaneous Settings”.
Language
There are different kinds of languages, for menu, for audio, for EPG, for Teletext or Subtitle. You can use UP/DOWN button to select one of them and then press OK button to enter submenu. Use LEFT/RIGHT button to switch language one by one or press OK button to select one from the language list. The details are as the following:

Time Setting
You can set system time, sleeping time and wakeup time in this menu. Furthermore, you can set first view service in wakeup time mode. When a VCR is connected, recording can be automatically validated/invalidated according to wakeup/sleeping time setting. Please use UP/DOWN button to select one of the following items and press LEFT/RIGHT or OK button to set certain value.

Automatic Update
Set “Automatic Update” option to “ON” means system time is based on TDT (Time and Data Table) from the stream of the current service, and runs with system clock. Set “Automatic Update” option to “OFF” means system time is set by manual and runs with system clock.
Current Date &Time
Only when you set “Automatic Update” option to “OFF”, “Current Date &Time” is active for you to enter local date & time by LEFT/RIGHT or 0~9 buttons.
GMT Offset
GMT is referred to the standard time of Greenwich. Please set the Offset according to

your country’s time zone. The step is half an hour.
Daylight Time
Set “Daylight Time” option to “ON” means the summer time is on thus local time is one hour late than normal.
Wake Up
If you set “Wake Up” option to “Enable”, you activate a wakeup timer. The service list will be displayed for you to set first view service using
UP/DOWN button. Wake Up Time
Only if you set “Wake Up” option to “Enable”, “Wake Up Time” is active for you to set wakeup time using UP/DOWN button.
Sleep
If you set “Sleep” option to “Enable”, you activate a sleeping timer.
Sleep Time
Only if you set “Sleep” option to “Enable”, “Sleep Time” is active for you to set sleeping time using UP/DOWN button.
A/V Control
You can set SCART, screen ratio and TV format, Video picture parameters in this menu according to the TV set connected to the receiver. Please use UP/DOWN button to select one of the following items and press LEFT/RIGHT or OK button to set certain value. Details are as the following:
TV-SCART
Set the video output mode for the TV SCART (RGB, CVBS).
VCR-SCART
Set the video output mode for the VCR SCART (CVBS only).
Screen Ratio
Set the screen aspect ratio of the TV set connected to this receiver (Auto, 16:9 Full, 4:3 Full, 16:9 Letter Box or 4:3 Letter Box).
TV Standard
Set the format of the TV set connected to this receiver (AUTO, PAL, NTSC, or SECAM). In AUTO mode, the receiver set the format to the one same as service viewed before enter this menu, and automatically follows current service’s format whenever current service’s stream format changes.
Video Brightness
Set the video brightness for receiver output. It ranges from 1 to 8, and is independent of the TV set connected to the receiver.
Video Contrast
Set the video contrast for receiver output. It ranges from 1 to 8, and is independent of the TV set connected to the receiver.
Video Saturation
Set the video saturation for receiver output. It ranges from 1 to 8, and is independent of the TV set connected to the receiver.
UHF Setting
You can set UHF parameters in this menu according to the TV set connected to the receiver. Please use UP/DOWN button to select one of the following items and press LEFT/RIGHT or OK button to set certain value.

System Information
We provide you production information about the receiver, such as “Model ID”, “Software Version”, “Hardware Version”, “Loader Version”, “Latest Update” and “Manufacture” information as well.
Upgrade RS232
We provide you two solutions to upgrade the receiver via RS232 port. A. Upgrade through this menu.
1. Connect your receiver (as slaver) to PC or another receiver (as master) via cross RS232 cable. (The PC should have installed Upgrade.exe together with current software or data file (*.dld).) Turn on the master.
2. Enter this menu, and select one of the following options, you can download new software, data or all (software and data together) from the master to your receiver. B. Upgrade automatically once turn it on

14. Trouble Shooting
If you suspect there is a fault with your receiver, please check the following trouble shooting guide before calling authorized service agent.
