Safety Tips
This manual contains a number of precautions to follow in order to help promote safe use of this equipment.
Warnings affecting your personal safety are indicated by:

T o ensure proper and safe operation, the general safety tips below must be followed.
Always operate the scale on a level surface.
Do not allow any liquids to come into contact with the scale.
Do not drop or apply a strong shock to the scale.
Do not use your scale in abnormal conditions. If smoke, an odor, or any other abnormality is detected from the scale, immediately disconnect the power supply cable plug from the outlet and contact the Globe factory for repair. Continued use of scale under such abnormal conditions may cause a fire or electric shock. For your personal safety , never repair the scale by yourself.
Do not leave any items on the weighing platter . This can damage the measuring equipment.
Do not peel off the seal affixed to the scale body .
Risk of Electrical Shock
Do not disassemble the scale.
Do not insert or remove the plug in or out of the outlet with wet fingers.
Do not make repairs to the electrical plug or power cable. Replace damaged power cable immediately .
Do not pull or break power cable.

Installation
Avoid locating the scale in the following places:
1. A place of low temperature, high temperature or high humidity .
2. A place frequently exposed to vibration (e.g., on an unstable floor or table).
The following describes the procedure for preparing the scale before operation.
1. Power to the Unit a. Install Batteries – Open the lid on the bottom of the scale and install two D-batteries
(NOTE: Batteries are not included with the scale.)
b. Or connect the AC Adaptor to the recept acle located on the bottom front of the scale and plug into
an electrical outlet.
2. Stainless S teel Weighing Platter - Place the st ainless steel weighing platter over the top portion of the scale.
3. Level the Scale – Adjust the feet until the air bubble (located on the back of the scale) inside the level
remains at the center of the circle (looking down on it).
Operating Instructions
1. Turning the unit on. a. With nothing placed on the weighing platter, press the red ON/OFF key. b. NOTE: Make sure the display shows all “0”s. If no arrow is illuminated above ZERO on the
display screen, press the blue ZERO key.
2. The scale weighs in either pound (lb) or ounce (oz) mode. a. To switch between weighing modes, press the blue lb oz key. b. An arrow illuminated above either lb or oz on the display screen indicates the unit of measure
selected.
c. NOTE: The unit of measure cannot be changed while weighing product. To change the unit of
measure, remove the product from the weighing platter and press the blue T ARE key and then the blue ZERO key . Then select the preferred weighing mode by pressing the blue lb oz key.
3. The scale can weigh in Gross or Net modes. a. If Net weighing is needed, place the empty container (or tare weight) on the weighing platter and
press the blue TARE key. b. The display will show zeros and an arrow will be illuminated above NET. c. When the empty container is removed from the weighing platter, the tare weight is shown as a
negative amount and is indicated by a minus sign on the far left of the display . d. NOTE: When no tare weight is used, you are in the Gross weighing mode and there will be no arrow
above NET.
4. Weighing Product a. Place the product (including container if tare weight is being used) on the stainless steel weighing
platter. b. When the ST ABLE arrow is illuminated and stops flashing, the actual total weight is displayed. c. Remove the first product and continuing weighing the next item. d. If the tare weight needs to be changed for a new product, then press the blue TARE key again to set
it to zero and repeat the steps above for Net weighing.
5. Turning the scale off. a. Press the red ON/OFF key for a couple of seconds b. NOTE: The scale will automatically shut-off after 5 minutes of no activity whether it is operating on

battery or AC power .

Cleaning Instructions
NEVER place scale in sink or dishwasher.
DO NOT hose down or pressure wash any part of the scale.
Excess moisture will damage scale and void warranty.
1. If the scale is running on AC power , unplug the scale.
2. Remove the stainless steel platter and wash with warm soapy water .
3. Soak a clean cloth in a mild detergent and warm water solution. Ring out excess water from cloth. Clean and wipe down the entire scale. Use a mild, non-bleach, non-chlorine sanitizer if required. Dilute sanitizer
per supplier’s instruction!
Limited Scale W arranty
Globe Food Equipment Company (“GFE”) warrants to the original purchaser of new equipment that said equipment, when installed in accordance with our instructions within the United S tates and subject to normal use, is free from defects in material or workmanship for a period of one year (excludes wear/expendable parts) from purchase date. Contact factory for warranty procedures if scale failure occurs.
THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. GFE EXPRESSL Y DISCLAIMS ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANT ABILITY OR EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A P ARTICULAR PURPOSE.
GFE’S OBLIGA TION AND LIABILITY UNDER THIS W ARRANTY IS EXPRESSL Y LIMITED T O REP AIRING OR REPLACING EQUIPMENT WHICH PROVES TO BE DEFECTIVE IN MA TERIAL OR WORKMANSHIP WITHIN THE APPLICABLE WARRANTY PERIOD. All repairs pursuant to this W arranty will be performed by an Authorized Designated GFE Service Location during normal working hours. IN NO EVENT SHALL GFE BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENT AL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES T O BUYER OR A NY THIRD P ARTY , INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMIT A TION, LOSS OF PROPERTY, PERSONAL INJURY , LOSS OF BUSINESS OR PROFITS OR OTHER ECONOMIC LOSSES, OR STATUTOR Y OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, WHETHER IN NEGLIGENCE, W ARRANTY , STRICT LIABILITY , OR OTHER WISE.
This warranty is given only to the first purchaser from a retail dealer . No warranty is given to subsequent transferees. Periodic maintenance of equipment including but not limited to weight checks or recalibration, damage to load cell,
lost parts, misuse and abuse, adjustments, water damage, improper installation, and normal wear are not covered under this warranty .
This warranty is not in force until such time as a properly completed and signed installation/warranty registration has been received by GFE within 30 days from the date of installation.
THE FOREGOING WARRANTY PROVISIONS ARE A COMPLETE AND EXCLUSIVE ST A TEMENT BETWEEN THE BUYER AND SELLER. GFE NEITHER ASSUMES NOR AUTHORIZES AN Y PERSONS TO ASSUME FOR IT ANY OTHER OBLIGA TION OR LIABILITY IN CONNECTION WITH SAID EQUIPMENT .
