GLOBAL ASSISTIVE DEVICES DB10L User Manual

Model DB10L
Installation of 9-volt Alkaline Battery:
Your "Door Beacon" is powered by a 9 volt Battery (purchased separately). Use only Alkaline Battery. The battery compartment is located in the bottom of the unit. To remove the cover, push in the direction of the arrow. Connect 9-volt battery to the terminals. Position battery into the recessed compartment and replace the cover.
To mount unit on the door:
Insert Hanging Bracket from bottom as shown.
Your "Door Beacon" can also be hung in place on the door by installing a screw where you want the unit positioned. (Position high onto door at eye level) Hang the "Door Beacon" onto the screw by using the hole on the molded bracket at the back of the unit.
To attach the "Door Beacon" to the door with the supplied Velcro, separate the two Velcro pieces by pulling apart. Attach the thick, plush piece of the Velcro to the inside of the door after removing the paper backing. Press the adhesive side firmly against the door. Secure the other section of Velcro to the back of the "Door Beacon" unit, first removing the paper backing and then pressing the adhesive to the unit. The "Door Beacon" can then be secured by pressing the Velcro on the unit against the Velcro on the door.
Attach Velcro on back as shown
To use the Hi/Lo/Off Sensitivity Switch:
The switch on the side of the unit marked H, L, and O allows for user adjustment. In the H (High) position, the sensitivity to the vibration of a knock is greater. This would be used on a thick, heavy door as an example. A thinner, lighter door might best have the switch in the L (Low) position because of lower sensitivity. Adjust the switch to suit your personal requirements to achieve maximum results.
It is suggested that the unit be turned to the O (OFF) position when not in use. When unit is in the OFF position, the light will not flash.
Before sending for Service:
If your "Door Beacon" ceases to operate, check & replace the battery if required.
