Yeti2011 manual in addition to the Bolero4 manual
Thank you for buying the Yeti and flying with Gin Gliders We hope that you will enjoy climbing and flying with this lightweight equipment. The Yeti is the light weight version of the Bolero4: it is our ultra-light mountain glider model.
This user information is provided in addition to the Bolero4 manual, which must also be read carefully before flying the Yeti. The Yeti has very similar flying characteristics to the Bolero4. Gin Gliders have achieved great savings in the weight of the Yeti in comparison with the Bolero4
.
Warning
This glider and its light bag (plus the light harness and the light rescue, delivered as an option) is made from special materials in order to reduce the weight of the glider.
These special light materials (fabric, lines, risers, webbing etc) are more susceptible to ageing than regular materials, even though their strength is more than sufficient. The Yeti has passed the same 8G load test as all regular gliders.
For this reason, we ask that you:
- Have your Yeti fully inspected by an authorized GIN agent every 2 years or 100 hours of flight, whichever is sooner.
- Do not practice aerobatics, towing, paramotoring, or extreme manoeuvres to lose altitude, such as very deep spirals. For big ears, please practice them with caution. Only use “altitude-losing manoeuvres” when absolutely necessary. They will cause the material of your Yeti to age more rapidly.
- Take special care of this wing not only during its use, but also in its packing and storage. Be careful during ground handling at the take-off site, do not pack it too tightly when you are not climbing with it, and let it dry in the shad e after each flight before final packing (the material of Yeti hates moisture and humidity). With appropriate care, the Yeti will have a long lifetime.
To facilitate take off from steep slopes or snow, attachment points have been added to the top surface to fix the glider to the ground. You can find these attachment points on the top surface along the leading edge, 10mm webbing.
