Congratulations on your purchase of the 60 Second Reliable Veterinary Digital Thermometer. This veterinary thermometer measures Rectal temperature in companion animals. When used properly, it will give you years of accurate and depen­dable measurements.
Please read the instructions carefully to ensure accurate temperature measurement and safe operation.
PRECAUTIONS
• Do not bend the Thermometer Tip
• Do not store thermometer in direct sunlight or at high temperature.
• Keep out of the reach of children.
• Do not drop the thermometer or expose to heavy shock.
• Do not attempt to disassemble the thermometer except to replace the battery.
This digital thermometer measures body temperature in Rectal use.

Probe Tip Display LCD ON/OFF Button
1. Remove the thermometer from the Storage Case. Press the On/Off Button to turn on the thermometer. All symbols will appear on the Display Window, indicating that the thermometer is functioning properly.
2. The thermometer will display the last measured temperature automatically indicating it is functioning proper. It is ready to measure body temperature when the display begins ashing Lo°C (Lo°F). The thermometer is pre-set to display results in °C or °F and cannot be adjusted.
3. Place the thermometer in the area to be measured following the descriptions below.
Rectal Measurement (rectum):
• Place Probe Cover over Thermometer Tip or lubricate Thermometer Tip with a water-soluble lubricant.
• Gently place the Thermometer Tip about 2-3 cm (-1”) into rectum.
• Read the temperature measurement when a continuous beep sounds or the °C (°F) symbol stops ashing. This indicates that the peak temperature has been reached. Measurement time should be about 60 seconds.
Note:
• If any resistance is detected when inserting tip into rectum, STOP and do not force.
• Average normal temperature: 38.5°C (99.6°F)
Note:
• If display shows “Lo”, the measured temperature is below 32.0°C (89.6°F).
• If display shows “Hi”, the measured temperature is above 42.9°C (109.2°F).
4. Press the On/Off Button to turn off the thermometer. The measurement taken will automatically be stored in memory. The thermometer will automatically shut off after 8 minutes if the thermometer is not turned off.
STORAGE
• Keep the thermometer in the Storage Case when not in use.
• Do not leave the thermometer in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
Battery cover
REPLACING THE BATTERY
With normal use, the battery will last for approximately 1000 uses or 2 years. When the battery needs to be replaced, a battery symbol will be displayed. To replace the battery:
• Push the symbol down on the back side of the thermometer, and pull off the Battery Cover exposing the battery. (Use Screwdriver to unscrew the cover screw)
• Use the suitable tool to push out the old battery.
• Insert the new battery into the battery holder, making sure the positive (+) side is facing upward.
Note:
• Do not swallow or eat the battery.
• Follow proper precautions and all local regulations when disposing of the thermometer and used batteries.
• Keep battery out of the reach of children.

CLEANING
Clean Thermometer Tip area only with a damp cloth before and after each use using Isopropyl Alcohol. Be sure to dry thermometer thoroughly after cleaning and prior to use. Note: only the Thermometer Tip area is water-resistant.
