FIRST AID MEDICAL DEVICE FOR THE TREATMENT OF
SNAKES, INSECTS, AND FISHES’ POISONOUS BITES

WHAT ECOSAVE IS AND HOW IT WORKS

Ecosave is a pocket-size light electronic device that produces ­through two electrodes - high-voltage and low-amperage
discharges lasting ten microseconds at one second regular
intervals.
It is an innovative and modern first aid tool – to be used while
waiting for the intervention of a doctor or medical centre – and it acts
with effectiveness against snakes bites, hymenoptera (bees,
wasps, bumble-bees, etc.), anthropoids (scorpions, spiders etc.)
and sea animals (fishes, jellyfishes, stinging coral) poisonous bites.

Ecosave can be part of the first-aid kit of any hiker, naturalist, forest
ranger or environmental operator, farmer, bee-keeper, gardener and
any other person in charge of hunting and ichthyic supervising.
Hunters may use Ecosave also on their dogs in case of a viper’s bite,
which often leads to the death of the affected animal.

HOW TO USE ECOSAVE

The device releases an impulse, whose effect – similar to the
effect of an electric shock – depends on individual sensitiveness.

Snakes

Typically, snakebites leave on the skin two distinct small holes - at a
distance of about 10 mm from each other - caused by the venomous
teeth. Place the two electrodes directly on the two holes, push the
button and give a first impulse. Then keep one electrode on one of
the holes and pivot around it with the other electrode while applying
from 3 to 7 impulses or more, according to necessity, by moving the
device clockwise. Then, do the same operation pivoting around the
second hole. You will experience relief in few minutes. If necessary,
repeat the procedure after a few minutes.
Do not apply any other method of first aid, such as cutting, sucking,
etc.: these methods are currently considered useless and even
dangerous. It is recommended to treat the limb as if it is broken and
block it while waiting for the intervention of a doctor.

ATTENTION

Ecosave can be used against viper’s bites, whose poison acts locally
through the blood as an hemocytotoxic agent. Ecosave is NOT

effective against neurotoxic venom, like the cobra’s one, which
spreads through nerve fibres.

Bumble-bees, bees, wasps, arachnids, fishes and jellyfishes

Hymenopteral’s and other animals’ stings can be very dangerous and
don’t have to be underestimated. Before using Ecosave please
examine the affected area and remove the sting in case it is stuck into
the skin, or possible remaining parts (thorns, tentacles or quills). Put
the device's electrodes on the sting, and apply from 3 to 7 impulses
or more, according to necessity, by moving the device clockwise. If
necessary, repeat the procedure after a few minutes.
The affected area should be dried up before using Ecosave (for
example in case of jellyfishes’ and/or venomous fishes’ stings).
Please do not handle Ecosave with wet hands.

If the person is assisted quickly, in a few minutes the electric
stimulation can reduce local symptoms – such as pain, soreness,
reddening, swelling - as well as the venom’s effects under the skin.

Ecosave is a first aid tool. In more severe cases (allergic
subjects or snake bites) after treating the area with Ecosave,
please seek for doctor/hospital assistance.

The effectiveness of the electrical stimulation technique has been
and continues to be object of many studies and experimentations.

WARNINGS

•

(from 6 years old).

• Do not use on hearth patients, on people wearing a pacemaker
and/or on epileptics, pregnant women and children under 6 years.

• Do not use around the eyes, mouth or any sensitive area of the
body.

• Do not use with wet hands, on wet areas.

• Do not use after the application of/ in proximity to any flammable
substance such as insects repellents.

• A strictly personal use of the product is highly recommended, in
order to avoid the transmission of infections. Please proceed with
an accurate disinfection of the product before use, especially on
bleeding areas, and if the use on different subjects is required.

• The use of Ecosave in absence of a bite and/or sting is not
recommended. Its effects may be perceived as stronger than
usual.

• Keep out of reach of children and people with reduced motor or
sensory capabilities.

• Ecosave is a medical device: do not use it as a toy or a personal
defence and/or offence tool.

• ATTENTION: the electric shock principle is effective ONLY
against the hemocytotoxic poison while it is NOT effective against
the neurotoxic poison (some kinds of snakes, like cobra, and
some tropical animals - jellyfishes, fishes and other sea animals,
insects and anthropoids -).

• Please keep these instructions.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

• Repeated shock of 10 microseconds (with one second breaks);

• Operating temperature: from 0 to 80°C (40/176°F);

• Supply: 1,5V AAA battery;

• ABS shock-proof container; measures mm 150 x 36 x 74;
weight (battery included): approx. 140 gr;

• Battery’ s life (if alkaline): about 10.000 shocks.
It’s hardly recommended to remove the battery if you foreseen not to
use the device for a long period. Please verify that the device battery
works properly before any excursion or in case of fall, by pushing the
button and producing a trial discharge in the air.

WARRANTY

TECNIMED Srl guarantees Ecosave against defects due to faulty
materials or manufacture for a 2 years period, starting from the date
of purchase. In case of breakdown, please send the device to the
manufacturer, together with a copy of the receipt (or any other proof
of the date of purchase). Warranty does not cover possible damage
caused by faulty/discharged batteries, carelessness, improper use or
break of the device.
