INSTRUCTION FOR USE

PRODUCT NAME: TYPE 5 EO INTEGRATING INDICATOR (IE3501)
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: PMS Steritest Type 5 EO Integrating Indicator Strips are designed for use in

Ethylene Oxide sterilizers with operating conditions as 60 % (±10 %) Humidity, 37 °C (±0,5 °C) and 90
minutes or 54 °C (±0,5 °C) 30 minutes at 600 ±30 mg/L EO concentration.
After exposure to EO sterilization, the chemical indicator will provide an accurate visual confirmation by color

changing, indicating that sterilization conditions were met.
PMS Steritest Type-5 EO Integrating indicators are classified as Type-5 according to EN ISO 11140-1
Standard.
During exposure to Ethylene Oxide sterilization at specified condition, the indicator color will change from

White to Mustard Yellow.

INSTRUCTION FOR USE

 Place PMS Steritest Chemical Indicator Strip in each pack, peel pouch or tray to be sterilized by

Ethylene Oxide. The strip should be placed at a location in the package that is considered to be most
difficult area for Ethylene Oxide to reach.

 Process the package as usual in a EO sterilizer..
 At the completion of the sterilization cycle, verify that the indicator has changed color and turned to

mustard yellow.

 If the color change is not visible or non-uniform, the sterilization conditions may be inadequate and

the items must be reprocessed with new/unprocessed indicator strips. .

 Products stored at recommended conditions have a shelf life of three (3) years from the date of

manufacture.

 Manufacture, expiry date and Lot number are printed on the product box.
 Do not re-use the used Chemical Indicator Strips.

STORAGE CONDITIONS

 Store at maximum 35 °C and maximum 70 %RH humidity.

 Chemical Indicator Strips must be kept away from direct heat, sun light and excess moisture.
