Indications
For irrigation and cleansing
during surgical intervention.
For irrigation of wounds and
burns.
For moistening wound tam ponades, cloths and dressings.
For rinsing and cleansing of
bladder catheters.
For irrigation and cleansing in
stoma care.
For rinsing and cleansing of
instruments and equipment.
For intra- and postoperative
irrigation (endoscopic inter ventions without HF current,
after TUR interventions).

midifiers (the use of container
equal or higher than 100 ml is
recommended).
For mechanical irrigation of
the eyes (the use of 30 ml
container is recommended).
For nasal irrigation (the use
of 30 ml container is recom mended).
Dosage
The amount of fluid depends
on the clinical condition.
Overdosage
Overdosage during wound irri gation and intra-operative ap plication can lead to absorp tion of irrigation fluid, that
can lead to hypervolaemia in
the form of hypotonic hyper hydration (hyponatraemia).
Headache, nausea, restless ness and disorienta
symptoms of hyperhydration.
In severe cases coma-like
states can occur.
Countermeasures in cases of
overdosage
Discontinuation of irrigation,
correction of the water and
electrolyte balance depend ing on the particular clinical
situation.
Warnings and precautions
Do not use for infusion.
Only use the solution if the
seal is undamaged and the
solution is clear.
Opened containers must not
be saved, quantities left over
must be discarded. Re-use
of single-use devices creates
a potential risk of patient or
user. It may lead to contami nation and/or impairment of
onal capability. Contam -

ination and/or limited func tionality of the device may

of the patient.
Store out of reach of children.
When there is a risk of absorp tion of larger amounts of the
solution, as may be the case
when using it in large body
cavities or large wound sur faces, it should not be used
in patients in states of hyper hydration. Under those condi tions it should be used with
caution in patients with
– Hypertonic dehydration,
– Hypokalaemia,
– Hypernatraemia,
– Hyperchloraemia,
– Disorders where restriction
of sodium intake is indica ted, such
as cardiac insuf ciency, generalised oedema,
pulmonary oedema, hyper tension, eclampsia, severe
renal insufficiency.
NaCl 0,9% B. Braun must not
be used for intrathecal irriga tion procedures.
Adverse side effects
None are known.
Expiry date
The solution must not be used
after the expiry date given on
the label.
