high quality, innovative WheelSystem will continue to perform at the highest level.
IMPORTANT:
This manual contains important safety, performance and service information. Please read it before installing your new wheels or going for your first ride and keep it for future reference.
WARNING
Compliance with the following instructions concerning assembly, handling, maintenance
and care of your Giant wheels is essential to provide proper and safe operation. Disregarding these instructions can lead to accidents resulting in serious injuries or even death.
Giant WheelSystems are designed and intended for use on a bicycle. The wheel or its
components cannot be used for any other applications or as a tool or toy, or in any manner other than that described in this user’s manual. Otherwise, it is at the user’s own risk. If you are not sure about the use condition of your WheelSystem, please consult your local authorized Giant retailer for the intended use of the WheelSystem.
Certain Giant WheelSystems are designed to be compatible with tubeless tire (Tubeless
Ready). We strongly recommend to use Giant Tubeless tire products. If you install a nontubeless tire on tubeless WheelSystems, a rim tape and inner tube must be installed as well to prevent the premature tire abrasion or rapid air leakage. The tires should meet the ETRTO dimension standards to be compatible with Giant Tubeless Ready WheelSystem.
Giant WheelSystems are also compatible with non-tubeless tires. Please make install
tires with tubes and rim tape which are complying with the ETRTO standard.
Giant's WheelSystems are fully tested with Giant's recommended tires. To ensure your
safety and not to affect Giant limited warranty, Giant's WheelSystems must be used with Giant's tires or originally supplied tires by Giant only.
Using brake pads or tires that are not or recommended by Giant may result in damage to
your WheelSystem and void your warranty.
BEFORE RIDING
Ensure that the wheels are compatible with, and properly installed in your bicycle (build in
dimensions of the frame and fork) and compatible with all other parts such as type of brake, skewers, cassette, tire, inner tube, valve and rim tape.
If the wheel is not assembled correctly or is improperly maintained, it is dangerous and
may cause accidents with serious injury. The wheel must be assembled and maintained by a qualified professional bicycle mechanic.

If you encounter difficulties, or are uncertain about anything identified in this user’s manual,
please contact your local authorized Giant retailer.
ASSEMBLY Using Giant Tubeless Ready WheelSystems with tubeless tires:
CAUTION: When assembling Giant Tubeless Ready WheelSystem (including rim tape,
tubeless valve, tubeless sealant, and tubeless tire), please refer to the set up instructions issued by Giant or consult a qualified professional bicycle mechanic.
1. A tubeless tire should only be installed on a rim with “Tubeless Ready” marked on the
appearance of a Giant WheelSystem.
2. When assembling a Giant Tubeless
Ready WheelSystem, please use it in combination with tubeless rim tape, tubeless valve, tubeless sealant and tubeless tire. If your wheels are to be used with rim brakes, we recommend to use Giant heat resistant tubeless rim tape.
3. When installing the rim tape, please
ensure the tape is set in the center of the rim bed, and make sure that the tape overlaps 15cm on both sides of the valve hole (Fig. 1).
4. For the installation of the tubeless
valve, please see figure 2 and figure
3. Please ensure that the provided oring seal is positioned correctly between lock-ring and rim (Fig. 2) Attach the lock-ring to the valve and tighten it finger tight (max. 0.5Nm). Do not use any kind of tools to tighten the valve.
5. For the installation of tubeless tires,
please see page 4.How to install tubeless tires on Giant Tubeless Ready WheelSystem.
6. For filling the sealant, please see page 5 How to fill sea lant into Giant Tubeless
Ready WheelSystem.

7. To achieve the best cycling performance, we strongly recommend to use Giant Tubeless System products (rim tape, tubeless valves, tubeless sealant, and tubeless tires) in combination with your Giant Tubeless Ready WheelSystem. Giant Tubeless System products can be purchased from your Giant bicycle retailer.
WARNING: Use of a non-Tubeless tire without an inner tube may result in premature tire
abrasion or rapid air leakage.
WARNING: Use of a tubeless tire with Giant Tubeless Ready WheelSystem without a rim
tape and tubeless valve will result in inflation failure.
WARNING: We strongly recommend not to use tire levers when mounting the tubeless tire,
to prevent structural damage of tire and rim which may result in inflation failure.
WARNING: Use of a tubeless tire with Giant Tubeless Ready WheelSystem without sealant
may result in poor air tightness and puncture repairing functionality failure.
WARNING: To achieve the best puncture repairing performance, we strongly recommend you to use Giant sealant. Using non-Giant sealant may result in corrosion(tire, rim, and rim tape) or sticky tire and rim, which may lead to abnormal disassembly.
Using Giant WheelSystems with standard tires, inner tubes and rim tapes:
1. Instead of using the tubeless valve, which can be removed from the rim, only an inner tube with
a Presta type valve (small valve, Ø 6.5mm) fits into the valve hole of the Giant rim. Never drill out the valve hole or enlarge it in any other way.
2. Select rim tapes, inner tubes and tires which comply with ETRTO dimensions to be used with
the Giant WheelSystem and install them as instructed by the manufacturer. Do not use latex inner tubes as heat generated by braking may damage them.
3. Air pressure: Do not inflate further than pressure limit indicated on the rim surface (see limits
labeled on it). Do not inflate further than recommended pressure limit indicated on the tire (see recommendation values on the tire).
4. Mount the Shimano® or SRAM® cassette according to the manufacturer‘s recommendations.
CAUTION: Use tire levers carefully if they are needed. Tools with a sharp edge and improper material of it may damage the rim. To prevent rim damage we recommend only using Giant tire levers which are delivered with the Giant WheelSystem.

How to install tubeless tire on Giant Tubeless Ready
Valve
Opposite side of valve
WheelSystem:
Step 1:
Start from the opposite side of the valve, insert one side of the tire bead in the lowest part of the rim bed (at in figure below, center bottom of the whole rim).
Step 2:
Start from the opposite side of valve, insert the other side of the tire bead in the lowest part of the rim bed (at in figure below). Make sure to work toward the valve as shown in figure below. Insert the beads of both side of the tire all around the rim in the lowest parts of the rim bed to finish the installation. Please DO NOT use a tire lever during the installation. Use of tire installation lubricant may reduce the resistance of installation. Giant Tubeless System lubricant can be purchased from your Giant bicycle retailer.)

How to fill sealant into Giant Tubeless Ready WheelSystem:
Step1Remove valve core from valve body by using the provided tool. (Fig. 4) Step2Shake the bottle well to divide particles well in the liquid. (Fig.5) Step3Fill sealant through the open valve body. The suggested volume is
(depending on tire size) 30~60 ml per wheel. (Fig. 6)
Step4Reinstall valve core to valve body by using the provided tool. Ensure the valve core
and lock ring are firmly tightened. (Fig. 7)
Step5Re-inflate the tire to the lowest maximum tire pressure. (Fig. 8) Step6Gently shake and spin the WheelSystem to spread the sealant well inside the inner case
of tire and cover the entire inner surface to achieve the best performance. (Fig. 9)
Step7Assemble the WheelSystem, inflate the tire to recommended riding pressure, close the
valve and go for a ride.

Brakes:
IMPORTANT: Braking with carbon rims at slow speed may cause a shuddering sensation. Only use Giant recommended brake pads for carbon rims. Other pads may not provide sufficient brake performance and could overheat the rim, causing the carbon fibers to delaminate. Failure to follow this may lead to personal injury and void of your warranty. Consult an authorized GIANT dealer for recommended brake pads.
CAUTION: Do not use latex inner tubes on carbon rims for rim brakes, these can get hot
during hard braking, latex tubes do not withstand heat well which can cause a tire to deflate suddenly. Failure to comply with this recommendation can void the warranty and may result in danger. Consult an authorized GIANT dealer for recommended inner tubes.
1. Check the compatibility of the brakes, especially the brake interface of the frame, fork and wheel. Mount the brake set and its components to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
2. When mounting and adjusting rim brake pads, please ensure to position the pads at least 3mm from the rim edge (Fig. 10). Mounting closer to the rim edge may result in overheating during continuous braking or damage to the carbon fiber. Wrong adjustment of brake pads will void the warranty.
3. The installation of 6-bolts type disc brake rotor is shown in Fig. 11. Please follow the disc brake manufacturer’s instruction for rotor installation.
4. The installation of center lock type disc brake rotor is shown in Fig. 12. Please follow the disc brake manufacturer’s instruction for rotor installation.
CAUTION:
Rims for disc brake wheels are designed to be used with disc brakes only. Do not install rim
brake to disc brake wheel.

warranty.
A rim will wear out with normal use. Regularly check the degree of wear and have the rim
replaced as soon as it exhibits any signs that it is worn out or damaged.
Always brake with both brakes at the same time. Avoid continuous hard braking, this can
overheat the rim and may lead to tire or inner tube failure.
Braking power is also reduced if the rim is wet or if you have new wheels or new brake pads.
Please adjust your manner of riding accordingly.
MAINTENANCE & CARE
1. Load limit of your product (the weight of rider + bike + luggage)
WheelSystems for road bike: 285 lbs. / 129kg WheelSystems for mountain bike: 300lbs / 136kg WheelSystems for E-bike: Consult an authorized GIANT dealer
2. Storing your WheelSystems Carbon WheelSystems may be damaged by improper storing.
Do not hang the bike on the wheel while displaying or storage.(Fig. 13)
The carbon section of hybrid carbon-aluminum WheelSystems is not its main structure,
please do not apply external forces on this part as it may get damaged.
CAUTION: Tying the bike with the wheels to a car rack may
cause damage to the wheel because of unpredictable high forces.
3. Contact a qualified professional bicycle mechanic or your Giant Retailer for all wheel tuning needs. Have the spoke tension and the wheel trueness checked regularly. Spoke tension that is too high or too low can cause high operating loads of the wheel components and could lead to a premature failure caused by material fatigue.
4. Check the wheels regularly for any damage. Do not ride the wheels under any circumstances if there is any damage to the rim or other components of the wheels, e.g. cracks in the rim, broken spokes, and looseness or play in the bearings. If this is the case, contact your Giant Retailer or a qualified professional bicycle mechanic to resolve the problem.
5. Get your bike checked by Giant dealer or qualified bike technician after every accident that may result in damage to your WheelSystems.
6. CLEANING: A. Wheels must be cleaned frequently with a soft sponge and a suitable cleaner. Do not use solvents (e.g. acetone, mineral spirits, etc.). B. Hub: The front and rear hub must be maintained at least once a year. If used regularly under extreme conditions (e.g. strong rain, mud, transport in rain, etc.) the driver body and star ratchet should be maintained more frequently. Frequent maintenance of the hubs guarantees
7
a longer life span and optimal performance over time. Use of high-pressure water or strong cleaner may inject external contaminants into the hub and should be avoided. Do not use strong solvents. (e.g. acetone, mineral spirits, etc.). C. Sealant: to retain proper air tightness and puncture repair functionality, please follow below mentioned maintenance frequency:
Every 2 months: check and refill sealant  Once per year: Remove old or dry sealant and clean the inside of the tire.
Improper maintenance may result in failure of sealant functionalities.
CAUTION: Before riding your bicycle, please check the tire pressure and clean all contaminants and brake pad residue (grit, dirt, oil, etc.) from the tires, brake pad and braking surface (particularly any traces of oil or grease) and check the wear of the brake pads, brake surface of the rim before every ride. Replace worn out brake pads with new ones to maintain optimum braking effect.
CAUTION: If you use Giant Tubeless Ready WheelSystems with tubeless tires, please check
your tire after riding your bicycle. If big punctures occurred on the tire, please replace your tire.
WARNING: To avoid damage to your carbon products, please do not store or transport the product in a manner that the product is exposed to constant high temperatures. Excessive heat can damage the resin that joins the carbon fibers. Giant suggests to ensure that the product is kept a minimum of 45cm away from any constant source of heat, for example car exhaust, heaters, open fire, etc. Do not exceed 150°F (65°C) exposure to your carbon products.
