The software is required for all programming
of the system, downloading transactions and
printing reports.
Statement
The system is based on a controller th at
supports two readers which ca n be mounted up to
50 meters away from the controlle r with a simple
3-wir e conne c t ion. T he contr o l ler c a n b e
configured to operate a single one-entry-an d-exit
door or two independent doors.
Th e control ler has a RS-232 connectio n
allowin g s ingle contr ol ler syste ms a s imple
means of connecting to a PC provi ded that the
cable run is less th an 30 meters. The controller
also has a RS-485 connection that will suppo rt up
to 16 controllers connected in a RS-485 network
to a PC thus allowing the control of up to 32 doors.
In this c onfiguration the PC wil l require a 311
RS-232/485 Interface/Repeater to interface w ith
the RS-485 network. The Se cure Card rea ders
are fully pot ted and suitab le f or mounti ng
outdoors. Tampering wi th these read ers will not
impair the systems security.
The securi ty is further en hanced by using the
Secure Card technology whic h preven ts third
party from duplicating cards to operate on the
system. The controller ha s a 4-way dip switch to
set eac h unit to a uniqu e address in the range 0-
15.

(reader A or B) uniquely identifies each reade r for
programming and transaction reporting. Access
Parameter settings are used t o def ine access
rights at e ach of the readers. Programming is
done from a PC using the KeyProx Plus Windows
software.
