Keyprox Plus
Access Control System
The system is based on a controller th at
support s two readers which ca n be mounted up to
50 meters away from the controlle r with a simple
3-wir e conne c t ion. T he contr o l ler c a n b e
configu red to operat e a single one-entry-an d-exit
door or two i ndependent doo rs.
Th e control ler h as a R S-232 connec tion
allowin g s in gle contr ol ler syste ms a s imple
means o f connecting to a PC p rovided that the
cable run i s less than 30 meters. The controller
also has a RS -485 c onnection that will suppo rt up
to 16 controllers connected i n a RS-485 network
to a PC thus al lowing the contr ol of up to 32 doors.
In this c onfiguration the PC wil l requi re a 311
RS-232/ 485 Inte rface/Repeater to interface w ith
the RS-485 network. Th e Se cure Card readers
are fu lly pot ted an d sui tab le f or mou nti ng
outdoor s. Tamperin g with these rea ders will not
impair th e systems securi ty.
The securi ty is further en hanced by using the
Secure Card technology whic h preven ts third
party from duplicating cards to operate on the
system. The cont roller ha s a 4-way dip switch to
set eac h unit to a uniqu e address in the range 0-
15.
T his address ad ded to the read er identifica tion
(reader A or B) un iquely identi fies each reader for
program ming and transaction reporting. Access
Paramet er se ttings are used t o def ine access
rights at e ach of the r eaders. Programming is
done from a PC using the KeyProx Plus Windows
softwar e.
