Safety
Please Read Carefully - Always maintain safety when working with any appliance.
Check that your mains voltage corresponds with the rating of the appliance before operating.
Do not touch hot surfaces-Use handles or knobs.
To protect against electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plug or the appliance in water or any other liquid.
Do not leave this appliance unattended while it is operating.
This appliance should not be used by children. Persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge can use the product, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
Children should not play with the appliance under any circumstances.
Cleaning and user maintenance should not be carried out by children without supervision.
Unplug from the mains outlet when not in use or before cleaning. Allow to fully cool before cleaning.
Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance has been damaged in any manner. If the supply cord or appliance is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or it’s service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
The use of accessory attachments is not recommended and may cause injuries.
This appliance is for indoor use only.
Do not use outdoors
Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter or let it come into contact with any hot surfaces.
To disconnect, remove the plug from the MAINS outlet. Do not pull plug out by the cord.
Do not use this product for anything other than its intended use. The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system. This appliance is for household use only.
No liability can be accepted for any damage caused, by noncompliance with these instructions or any other improper use or mishandling.

How to Use
Before using your Hot Plate for the first time,turn the Hot Plate on the highest setting for 3 to 5 minutes to condition the protective coating. This should be the only time the Hot Plate is turned on without a cooking utensil on it.
For the most efficient operation of your Hot Plate the cooking utensils used should have a solid base and be as even as possible, and a diameter of approx 15 to 17cm and a maximum capac­ity of 1L(1000W hot plate). The base diameter of cooking utensils smaller than the diameter of the Hot Plate should not be used.
Cooking utensils,regardless of their size,should not project beyond the Hot Plate or intrude into the area of close proximity of the controls.
Utensils with convex, concave or uneven bottoms should not be used.
Operation of Control
Turn the control to the recommended position marked to achieve the desired temperature.
IMPORTANT: When not in use always turn the control to the minimum " " position and disconnect from the power outlet.
Note: The red indicator lamp will go off when the Hot Plate reaches the selected temperature, and will cycle on and off to maintain the temperature.

For your Safety
When using your Hot Plate, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
Never immerse the Hot Plate in water or any other liquid.
Oil and fat being heated are not to be left unattended without adult supervision.
Do not touch the appliance surfaces or the Hot Plate when in operation, as they get hot.
The Hot Plate is designed only for the heating and cooking of food, and must only be used with cooking utensils placed on it.
The Hot Plate must be turned to minimum ( ) position and disconnected from mains Power when not in use.
Cooking utensils,regardless of their size, should not project beyond the Hot Plate or intrude into the area of close proximity of the controls.
It is dangerous to operate any electrical product with a damaged cord or plug,or after the product malfunctions or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return the complete product to the place of purchase for inspection and repair.
How to Care for your Hot Plate
Disconnect the hot plate from the mains power outlet.
Do no immerse the hot plate in any liquid.
Do not allow the cord to touch any hot surfaces of the hot plate.
Clean the painted surface with a damp soft cloth and mild household cleaning powder.
Baked on marks on the circular hot plate can be removed with a household cleaning powder, turn the unit on for a moment to dry after cleaning.
Commercially available hot plate cleaners are recommended to preserve the natural finish of the hot plate.

Fitting a new Plug
Always ensure that the cord grip is fastened correctly. The plug must be fitted with a fuse of same rating as already fitted and conforming to BS 1362 and must be BSI or ASTA approved.

IMPORTANT: the wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug , proceed as follows: The wire which is coloured green & yellow must be connected to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter ‘E’ or the earth symbol ‘ ’ or coloured green or green & yellow. The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter ‘N’ or coloured black. The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter ‘L’ or coloured red.
Disposal Information
Separate collection. This symbol means the product must not be discarded with the general household waste. There is a separate collection system for these products
Should you want to dispose of this item please do not put it with the household waste.Used electrical and electronic equipment and batteries must be made available for separate collec­tion.
Private households may return their used electrical and electronic equipment to designated collection facilities free of charge. Identify where your local collection points are and return the product there. (Facilities are usually available at the municipal waste site, your electrical retailer, or your local authority may provide separate collection from the household.)
By disposing of this product correctly you will be providing positive help to the environment.
