ProBridge 3 POS Interface
Capture and Link Point of Sale Transaction Data to Recorded Video
Overview
The ProBridge 3 (PB3) is a text translation device that captures Point of
Sale (POS) transaction data and translates it to a format that can be
interpreted by GE Security’s digital video multiplexer recorders
(DVMRes).
The data, which is synchronized with video recorded by the DVMRe,
can be played back locally at the DVMRe or remotely using
WaveReader™ software. Specific events or transactions can be easily
retrieved–using the DVMRe or WaveReader software, operators can
search for transaction data by any combination of time, date, camera,
or transaction text.
Using Probridge 3 POS, multiple POS units can be connected to a
daisy-chained RS485 network of PB3s, with up to 3,000 feet (914.4 m)
between nodes.
Outstanding Features
ProBridge 3 units have built-in data filter capabilities that can be
programmed using Windows HyperTerminal. These built-in filters can
improve the efficiency of stored transaction data.
POS data can be associated to a camera via the PB3’s DIP switches. A
demo mode can transmit simulated transaction messages to the
DVMRe in order to confirm the PB3 is operating properly during
installation. Built-in diagnostics confirm proper cable connectivity.
All set-up and configuration data is stored in nonvolatile memory, so
settings are retained even when power is removed from the unit.
An alarm can be sent to the recorder when a preloaded text string is
seen. Five text strings can be input into the ProBridge 3.
