2. Buttons and Displays
1) Buttons
The pager is constructed of 2 buttons; Menu / Mode and Select / Read button.
2) Menu / Mode () button A. Switch to Function Mode B. Switch to next menu in Function Mode C. Change setting D. Read locked message / Exit E. Switch to Lock and erase mode during Received Message Read F. Switch to reception mode during Time Stamp Read of received / locked message G. Manual power on in power off mode
3) Select / Read (") button A. Selection setting in each menu of the Function Mode B. Switch to next selection in each menu of Function Mode C. Read received or locked message D. Erasing of each individual received / locked message
4) Display window
LCD consists of 12 digit message display and each option and message setting icon display.
Note : the LCD display for each function may differ from the actual LCD.

3. Self Test
1) This function is to display pager setting information to the user.
2) When () button is pressed for more than 1 seconds when inserting battery, pager enters
Self Test mode and “SELF TEST” is displayed on the LCD.
3) Self Test is proceeded in the following order upon each () button press.

4) Each CAP CODE cannot be the same (duplicate) and is displayed as many as the number of
actual entry.
5) Decoder Option Value, PLL Option Value, Setup Time of BS3 and BS1 are displayed.
6) After Self-Test mode sequence is completed, pager automatically enters into normal
reception mode.

4. Pager Operation
1) Switching to Function Mode
A. When () button is pressed for more than 2 seconds in reception mode, pager
switches to Function Mode with a beep.
B. Functions are selected with each () button press in the following order :
TONE? MELODY? VIBRATE? SILENT? ERASE ALL? SET TIME? SET ALARM? SET AUTO? STOP WATCH? POWER OFF? Standby
2) Selecting Tone (TONE?)
There are 5 types of tones and the selection is as follows :
A. Switch to Function Mode from reception mode by pressing () button for 2 seconds. B. Switch to selection mode by pressing (") button while “TONE?” is displayed. C. Pager waits for selection after simple generation of the displayed tone following each
() button press.
D. Desired tone is selected by pressing (") button while desired tone type is displayed
and enters reception mode.
E. When tone 4 is selected, different tone is generated depending on the Call Type
(Function Bit) *(Please refer to 4. Note).

3) Selecting Melody (MELODY?)
There are 5 types of melodies and the selection is as follows :
A. Switch to Function Mode from reception mode by pressing () button for 2 seconds. B. Switch to selection mode by pressing (") button while “MELODY?” is displayed. C. Pager waits for selection after simple generation of the displayed melody following
each () button press.
D. Desired tone is selected by pressing (") button while desired melody type is
displayed and enters reception mode.
4) Selecting Vibrate (VIBRATE?)
The selection is as follows :
A. Switch to Function Mode from reception mode by pressing () button for 2 seconds. B. Switch to selection mode by pressing (") button while “VIBRATE?” is displayed. C. The pager vibrates for 1 second and enters reception mode.
5) Selecting Silent (SILENT?)

The selection is as follows :
A. Switch to Function Mode from reception mode by pressing () button for 2 seconds. B. Pressing (") button make the selection while “SILENT?” is displayed and the pager
enters reception mode.
6) Time / Clock Setting (SET TIME?)
A. Forward to “SET TIME?” menu after entering Function Mode. B. When (") button is pressed at “SET TIME?” menu, time is displayed in “01-01
12:00A” format starting with blinking date (day of the week).
C. Whenever (") button is pressed, the blink moves in date (day of the week), time,
minute order.
D. Desired setting is selected by pressing () button while desired option is being
blinked.
E. The date setting menu (month, day) will be active according to option setting.

7) Alarm Setting (SET ALARM?)
A. Forward to “SET ALARM?” menu after entering Function Mode. B. “AL ON/OFF 12:00A?” is displayed when (") button is pressed in “SET ALARM?”
menu, and the display toggles between ON and OFF with () button press. C. When (") button is pressed in “ON ALARM?” state, the time section blinking. D. Desired alarm time is set as the method in 6). E. When (") button is pressed in “OFF ALARM?” state, alarm is turned off and
switches to reception mode. F. Alarm alerting will be active in the stand by or power off mode.

8) Automatic Power ON/ O FF Fun c ti on (SE T AU T O? )
A. This is the function to turn pager on and off automatically at a preset time. B. Forward to “SET AUTO?” menu by pressing () button in Function Mode. C. “ON/OFF AUTO?” will be displayed when (") button is pressed in “SET AUTO?”
menu, and display toggles between ON and OFF with () button. D. When (") button is pressed in “ON AUTO?” state, this function is enabled and pager
returns to reception state after setting on and off time using the method in 6). E. When (") button is pressed in “OFF AUTO?” state, this function is disabled and
pager returns to reception state.

9) Message Reception and Duplicate Message Detection
A. When message is received, the user is notified with the appropriate alert that has been
selected. B. Alert is stopped when a key is pressed during message receive alert. C. If a duplicate message is received ‘Duplicate Icon’ will be displayed.
10) Reading Received Message
A. Whenever (") button is pressed to read received messages, message number, time
stamp, and message will be displayed starting in newest message to oldest order. B. If there are unread messages, it will be read according to numbered order with unread
flag, and then return to stand by mode. C. For messages longer than 12 digits, ‘" icon’ will be displayed, and the continued
message will be displayed when (") button is pressed. D. When there are not any messages received, “NO PAGE” will be displayed.

11) Received Message Lock
A. When () button is pressed while reading received messages (message is being
displayed, not time stamp), “LOCK?” will be displayed. Pressing (") button will lock
the message and “LOCKED” will be displayed. ‘Lock icon’ will be displayed also. B. Maximum of 15 messages can be locked. C. When all 15 messages have been locked, “LOCKED FULL” will be displayed. D. “TONE ONLY” message cannot be locked. E. Lock will not function after “LOCKED FULL” until one or more of the locked
messages are erased.

12) Erasing All Received or Locked Message
A. Forward to “ERASE ALL?” menu by pressing () button in Function Mode. B. “GENERAL?” will be displayed when (") button is pressed while “ERASE ALL?” is
being displayed. In this state, pressing () button will display “LOCKED?”. C. When (") button is pressed during “GENERAL?” display, “REALLY?” will be
displayed. In this state, pressing (") button again will erase all unlocked messages
and “ALL ERASED” will be displayed. D. When (") button is pressed during “LOCKED?” display, “REALLY?” will be
displayed. In this state, pressing (") button again will erase all locked messages and
“ALL ERASED” will be displayed. E. If there are not any messages to be erased, pager will switch directly to reception
mode.

13) Reading Locked Message
A. In order to read locked messages, there should be no unread messages. B. Pressing () button in reception mode displays number of locked messages and enters
locked message read mode. C. Pressing () button again exits locked message read mode. D. Pressing (") button in locked message read mode displays message number, time
stamp, and message will be displayed starting in newest message to oldest order. E. For messages longer than 12 digits, ‘" icon’ will be displayed, and the continued
message will be displayed when (") button is pressed. F. When there are not any locked messages, locked message read mode cannot be entered
at all.
14) Erasing Individual Received and Locked Message
A. When () button is pressed while reading received/locked messages (message is
being displayed, not time stamp), “ERASE?” will be displayed. Pressing (") button
will erase the message being read and “ERASED” will be displayed. B. There is not any function for unlocking locked messages.

15) Power Off (POWER OFF?)
Pager switches to Power Off mode when (") button is pressed after forward ing to “POWER OFF?” menu from reception mode. A. No message can be received and the antenna icon disappears. B. Alarm is the only active function in this mode.
16) Memory Capacity
A. The maximum number of messages that can be received is 18 (20 characters each). B. If more than the maximum number of message is received, the new message is stored
by erasing the oldest message first.

17) Battery Replacement Display
A. If Low Battery signal is detected for more than 1 minute ‘Low Battery icon’ will be
displayed and alerted once for first 4 seconds.
B. This is displayed until the batter is replaced. (This may differ upon the option setting) C. All EEPROM write is prohibited during Low Battery.
18) Night Light Function
A. When any button is pressed in reception mode, lamp will switch on and switch off 8
seconds later when no key is pressed. B. Lamp will be switched off automatically when returned to reception mode
19) Unread Message Alert
If you do not read a message when it is received, the pager will sound a single long beep or vibrate for 1 second, (depending on the alert setting) once every 3 minutes to remind you of the message.

This function will be disabled in the power off mode and during other alert generation
such as alarm.
20) Reception Area Display
A. If located within reception area or pager receives a message, ‘Antenna icon’ is
displayed or removed depending on the antenna option. B. Antenna option is as follows :
- Option 1 ----- Sync Code Detect Display ‘Antenna icon’
- Option 2 ----- Out of Range Display ‘Antenna icon’
21) Date, Day and Time Display
Various types of timer display mode are supported according to option.
