What is Phone Projection?
You can securely access your smartphone
while driving by using this feature. Various
functions on your smartphone are displayed
on the multimedia system so you can easily
use them (finding directions, making a call,
listening to music etc.).
With Phone Projection supported device
connected, Phone Projection menu
appears on the display. Available functions
and operations may differ depending on the
model.

Precautions
• Android Auto is a registered trademark of
Google Inc.
• Apple CarPlay is a registered trademark
of Apple Inc.
• Phone Projection will be unavailable if
the phone OS is not the latest version or
your phone is unable to be recognized
due to a shutdown caused by a failure or
defect in the device itself.
• Your phone may not be recognized if its
battery is low. Charge your phone then
try again.
• If your phone is shut down due to a
defect in the device itself, reset your
phone and try again.
• If you repeatedly connect and disconnect
the USB cable on the device in a short
period of time, your phone may malfunction. This can also cause a device failure.
• The device recognition time may differ
depending on the device type and firmware/OS version.
• Using the USB cable that came with
the phone is recommended. (Using a
non-genuine product may cause noise or
malfunction.)
• Normal operation is not guaranteed when
you arbitrarily manipulate your phone
while Phone Projection is active.
• Phone Projection may not operate normally due to mobile phone issues.
• Network charges may apply when using
Phone Projection.
• You cannot run Apple CarPlay while
making a call using Bluetooth.
• If the network signal strength is weak,
some Phone Projection features may not
work properly.

• The following problems may occur due to
issues with your phone.
[Android Auto]
- Intermittent black screens appear
when entering Android Auto.
- Unable to differentiate between phones
that support Android Auto and those
do not.
- Black screens appear in some areas of
the screen due to phone or app errors.
[Apple CarPlay]
- Intermittent black screens appear
when entering Apple CarPlay.
- Black screens appear in some areas
of the screen due to app errors when
navigating between screens in Apple
CarPlay.
- Audio volume may not be adjusted
depending on the status of the connected phone.
NOTICE
• If services do not work properly due to
problems similar to the specified above, check
your phone and if necessary, reconnect your
phone after restarting.
Using Phone Projection
Features
1. With Android Auto, connect the USB
cable provided by the mobile manufacturer. With Apple CarPlay, connect the
USB cable provided by Apple.
2. On the Home or All Menus screen,
select the

• Before connecting your mobile phone, check
whether Phone Projection is set to ON in the
Phone Projection Settings menu.
• After connecting the mobile phone, you must
unlock your phone and accept the Disclaimers
on your phone in order for Phone Projection to
launch.

multimedia system are subject to change
depending on the policies of each company.
Android Auto
• Refer to the website below to view the list
of countries that support Android Auto.

• Bluetooth media features will be disabled
when Android Auto is activated. You cannot use Bluetooth Media features such
as Bluetooth Audio. If you want to use
such features, remove the USB cable
