
Series 3000 Needle Valves
User Instructions
Scope:
These user instructions are applicable for Generant Series 3000 Needle Valves sizes 1/8”, 1/4",
3/8” and 1/2 “(Connection Types NPT, SAE, BSPT and BSPP)
Intended Use:
The intended use of these Needle Valves is as a flow metering device for liquids and gases.
Technical Data:
Series 3000 Needle Valves are available in Brass, 303 and 316 Stainless Steel as standard. All
Series 3000 Needle Valves are marked with an arrow indicating direction of flow.
Maximum Pressure Rating
Operating Instructions:
1. Insure that the Needle Valve is piped according to the directional flow arrow provided.
2. Flow through the valve can be adjusted by turning the adjustment knob. Rotating the
knob counter clockwise will inc rease flow th rou gh the valve. To shut off the flow, turn the
knob clockwise until the flow seated. Use caution not to over tighten.
3. The Series 3000 Needle Valves are designed with a PTFE ware compensating
adjustable stem packing. If leakage is observed from between the stem and packing nut,
slightly tighten the packing nut (7/16” wrench).
4. Use caution not to loosen the either the stem packing nut or the bonnet nut when valve is
pressurized.

installation, operation, cleanliness and maintenance are the responsibility of the system designer
and user.
Brass: 3,000 Psi (206 Bar)
303 and 316 Stainless Steel: 5,000 Psi (345 Bar)
