To activate the unit:
1. Open the battery compartment (marked OPEN) on the
right side of the back of the unit by sliding its cover down, in the direction of the arrow stenciled on it.
2. Remove the black activation tab under the LR44
button battery. Discard the tab.
3. Install the battery in the well so its rounded side faces
down and its flat side (marked “LR44”) faces up. The battery does not snap into place, so do not apply downward pressure.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it
up, in the direction opposite the arrow on it. The pressure of the cover is what holds the battery in place.
MOUNT THE UNIT
To leave the unit free to move on a horizontal surface, lift the foldaway stand on the back of the unit
by placing your fingertip in the recess on the bottom edge of the unit.
To attach the unit to a wall or vertical surface, obtain a pair of Velcro strips and—without separating them— trim them to a size of 1-3/4 in. by 3/8 in., or slightly smaller than the recessed rectangular mounting area on the top rear of the unit. Remove the paper backing from one strip and press its exposed sticky side into the recess. Remove the paper backing from the other strip and press the unit against the wall or surface at the desired position.
To detach the unit in order to change the battery, grab it and pull until the two Velcro strips separate.
