CHANGING THE BATTERY
Change the battery when the LCD grows dim or fails to
display a reading.
The battery is located in a holder in the thermometer head. To
gain access to the battery:
1. Use your fingernails or a small flat-head screwdriver (or
both) to carefully separate the head into two sections.
2. The battery holder is the silver structure on the circuit
board. Remove the old battery by using the tip of a small
screwdriver or a paper clip to push the battery down
through the lower opening of the holder.
3. Install a fresh LR44 battery by using the same tool to push
the new battery up through the lower opening of the holder.
4. Complete the procedure by lining up the two sections
of the head and squeezing them together until you feel and
hear a snap.
If the thermometer fails to turn on following a battery
replacement, you may have dislodged the circuit board.
Re-open the head to check that the board remains properly
mounted.
