Step
1
Create a level base using Crusher Run Stone to accommodate the overall footprint
of the replace.
Prepare an area 5'6" wide x 4'6" deep.
Remove sod and vegetation.
Excavate/remove so soil as required to provide level stone surface at a
minimum of 4" deep.
If required, use landscape blocks to retain stone base.
If installing optional hearth/knee wall, extend base as required.
If soil under sod is hard, soil can be leveled out and used as a base material.
Reference diagrams for creating a level base.

Assemble the replace on a level setting base.
Mix supplied thin set according to package directions. Apply a thin
layer uniformly using a small trowel between all pieces and courses.

Center all courses on previous course to build chimney properly.
Aer completing course 8, it is suggested to allow the thin set to cure
overnight before proceeding to course 9.
Because of the overhang of bullnose units on courses 8, 11 and 16,
temporarily support the units in place until thin set cures before setting
subsequent courses.

Tempering Recommendations:
Wait 24 hours before building a re in your replace kit.
Build a few modest res in the replace initially before building a
re at normal temperatures.
During rst few res, some minor smoking may occur as the
block and mortar dry out from the heat; this is normal.
