LDAPAuthentication
ThissectiondescribesLDAPauthenticationaswellashowtoenableanddisableit.
Description
LightweightDirectoryAccessProtocol(LDAP)authenticationallowsforamore
centralizedadministrationofMUSEsystemusersandrolesbyconguringtheMUSE
systemtobeabletocommunicatewiththeLDAPserver.Microsoft’sActiveDirectory
ServermakesuseofLDAPversions2and3.
Withthismethod,whentheuserlaunchestheMUSEapplicationafterloggingonto
Windows,theMUSEapplicationlogonscreenopens,wheretheuserneedstoprovide
theirLDAP/ActiveDirectory(AD)usernameandpassword,andthesiteinthesystem
thattheywanttologonto,ifitisotherthantheirdefaultsite.
Thismethodcanbeidealonsharedcomputers,wheretheusersdonotwanttolog
outoftheoperatingsystemtoallowsomeoneelsetologontotheMUSEapplication
withLDAP/ADcredentials.
ThissetuprequiresLDAPbeappropriatelyconguredwiththeMUSEapplication.
BeforeenablingtheLDAPfeature,talkwithyoureldrepresentativeortechnical
supportspecialist.
SeeAppendixCfordetailedinformationonconguringtheMUSEsystemforLDAP

LDAPauthenticationisdisabledbydefaultintheMUSEsystem.LDAPauthentication
