TosetupandconguretheInSiteExCconnection,thecustomer’sproxyserver information—suchasIPaddress,portnumber,andauthenticationprotocols—is required.
MARSserversandMARSWebserverscanberuninvirtualenvironments.However, MARSclients,MARSWebclients,andstandaloneworkstationscannotberuninvirtual environments;theymustberunonphysicalPCs.

VerifyingAppropriateVoltage

WARNING:
CURRENTLEAKAGE—Electricalshockcouldresultfromcomponentfailureand lackofpowerisolation.
TheMARSsystemisnotintendedforuseinthepatientvicinity.Intheevent thissystemisusedinthepatientvicinity,itmustbeconguredinsuchaway thatitandallofitselectrically-connectedperipheraldevicesareisolatedfrom mainspowertopreventexcessiveleakagecurrenttothepatient.Allnon-medical peripheraldevicesshallcomplywithIECandISOsafetystandardsthatare relevanttothatequipment(i.e.,IEC60950,UL60950).

CICConnectionLimits

GEHealthcareprovidesnetworkservicestorecommendanappropriatenetwork designtoensuretheperformanceoftheIXnetworkandtheCIC.DONOTconnect additionalMARSclientstotheIXnetworkwithoutrstreviewingtheirimpactto networkandCICperformancewithGEHealthcare.
TheCICInterfacelimitsthenumberofconcurrentconnections:nomorethanthree (3)MARSclientscanconnecttoasingleCICunitconcurrently.BeforeaMARSclient caninitiateadownloadfromaCIC,itmustverifythatitwillnotexceedthemaximum numberofconnectionsforthatCIC.

InadditiontolimitingthenumberofconcurrentMARSconnectionstoasingleCIC,the CICInterfacealsocontrolstheowofFDdatatoconnectedMARSclients.
IfmultiplebedsareselectedforacquisitionfromasingleMARSclient,thedatais acquiredsequentially.Thatis,thesecondbedisnotacquireduntiltherstbed completes.Whilenetworkusageislonger,theamountofnetworkbandwidthused isthesameasasinglebedacquisition.
IftwoormoreMARSclientsareacquiringbeddatafromdifferentCICsatthesame time,thedataisacquiredsimultaneously.Thisusesalargeramountofnetwork bandwidththanacquiringfromasingleCIC.
DuetothelargesizeofFDlesbeingtransmitted,ifmorethanoneMARSworkstation isaccessingtheIXnetworkatthesametime,networkswitches,routers,andtrunks mustbesizedcorrectlytohandletheadditionaltrafc.

TheWebUploadOption

TheWebUploadInterfaceisaMARSoptionthatallowsremoteclientstoacquireHolter dataanduploadittoacentralMARSWebServer.WhentheMARSServerdetectsnew HolterdataontheMARSWebServer,itcopiesthedataforanalysis,reporting,and archiving.TheMARSWebUploadInterfaceisintendedtobeusedbyfacilitiesthatdo nothavethepersonnel,resources,orbudgettoconducttheirowndataanalysis.

Aregularpreventativemaintenanceprogramhelpspreventunnecessaryequipment andpowerfailuresandreducespossiblehealthhazards.Becausethecustomer ownstheequipmentonwhichtheMARSAmbulatoryECGsystemresides,thesole responsibilityforestablishingandexecutingsaidmaintenanceprogramrestswiththe individualorinstitutionusingtheequipment.
Whilethecustomershouldrefertothemanualsthataccompaniedtheirequipment fordetails,GEHealthcarerecommendsthatthemaintenanceroutineincludethe following:

ArchivingData

MARSisnotintendedforlongtermstorageandprovidestwomethodsforsavingdata. ItishighlyrecommendedthatMARSusersestablishaformalscheduleorprocessto ensuredataisarchivedorsavedonaregularbasistolimitlossofdataintheevent ofaharddrivefailure.Dataandreportsshouldbearchivedorsavedassoonas possibleaftercompletingtheanalysisandcreatingthereporttolimitanyexposure ofthedatatoasystemfailure.

YoucanusetheSlotFileTooltoperformthefollowingoperations:
•AddaspeciednumberofslotlestotheSlotFilesDirectory,whichMARSPCuses.
•Deleteaspeciednumberofslotles,aselectedle,orallemptyslotlesfrom

UnderstandingSlotFileSize,DiskCapacity,and Performance

Beforeaddingslots,considertheamountofavailablestoragetheslotlesrequireand howthenumberofslotlesmayaffectMARSsystemperformance.
WithMARSV8,slotlesarenolongerxedsizes.Eachslotlestartsoutat16KBand growstotthedataasyouacquireit.Iftheexistingharddrivecapacityislimited, usethefollowingDiskSizingguidelinestoestimatetheamountofmaximumspace thedifferentslotlesuse.Planthetotalnumberofslotlesaccordingly,sothateven ifallslotsareattheirmaximumsize,thereisstill5to10GBoffreedrivespaceleft onthedrive.
Calculatingtheminimumdisksizeconsistsofthefollowingsteps:
1.Determinewhichletypesyouwillinstall
2.Determinethequantityforeachtype
3.Multiplythequantityforeachtypebythetype'smaximumlesize
4.Sumthetotals
5.Add20GBforOS,ancillaryapplications,andoverhead.
NOTE:
Asthenumberofslotlesincrease,itmaytakelongerforthePatientListtodisplay. Thisismorenoticeableforworkstationsoperatingatthelowerrangeofthesystem hardwarerequirements.Ifauser ,orusers,complainofslowperformanceafteradding slotles,considerreducingthenumberofslots.
