NOTE:

Beforeapplyingasoftwareupdate,dothefollowing:

•Conrmtheupdateiscompatiblewiththemainboardinyourdevice.

•UpdateswithbootcodeversionB4orhighercannotbeappliedtodevices withthe–007mainboard(P/N801212-007).

•Updateswithsoftwareversion10A,9C,orearliercannotbeappliedto deviceswiththe–008mainboard(P/N801212-008).

•ConnectthedevicetoACpower. KeepthedeviceconnectedtoACpoweranddonotpoweroffthedeviceduring theupdate.

Usethismethodtoinstallthesoftwareapplicationondevicesonwhichtheuser interfaceisnotavailable.Thiswilltypicallybeincaseswheretheapplicationsoftware cannotbefoundonthedevice.

Ondevicebootup,thebootloaderprogrambuiltintotheATMELAT91RM9200 processorfetchestheprimarybootcodefromtheSPIdataash.Theprimaryboot codecontainsasmallapplicationthatupdatesthemainsoftwareapplicationinthe device'sNANDFLASHmemory.

IftheprimarybootcodecannotndavalidsoftwareapplicationintheNANDFLASH, orevenifitcan,itlooksforaspecialSDcardwithadummylenamedupdate.com inthecard'srootdirectory.IfitdetectstheSDcard,itdownloadsthesoftware applicationcodefromtheSDcardtotheNANDFLASHandshutsdownthedevice.If theprimarybootcodecannotdetectavalidcodewithin2minutesand6seconds, thedeviceshutsdown.

Becausethedevice’sdisplayisnotavailablewhenthesoftwareapplicationcannotbe found,theonboardLEDs,DS1(Red)andDS2(Green),ashstatuscodestoindicate progress.ToensuretheLEDsarevisible,thedevice'stopcovermustberemoved beforeyoubegintheinstallation.
