Reasons for the GTS V2.2.0 Yr 2000 Enhancement:
The purpose for this enhancement is to provide both GTS and the SCO Xenix operating system support for the year 2000 and beyond.
The year 2000 f ix in GTS V 2.2.0 Patch 5 did not inc lude the SCO Xenix year 2000 fixes and was therefore not a complete year 2000 update. You must load this enhancement to have full GTS and SCO Xenix support.
Prob lems add ressed in t hi s enhan cemen t :
Disk 1 of 2 of the GTS V2.2.0 Yr 2000 Enhancement is actually an SCO Xenix support supplement disk XNX427C. This support supplement contains updated Xenix binary files.
Disk 2 of 2 of the GTS V2.2.0 Yr 2000 Enhancement contains files needed to correct problems found in the GTS software with handling of the year 2000 and general problems experienced while setting the date.
Both disk 1 and 2 address the following problems:
The "year 2000" problem Setting any date from January 1, 2000 on actually sets the year to 1970 instead.
The "leap year" problem Setting the time on the TMS controller to February 29, 2000 will actually set the date to
March 1, 2000 instead.
System Errors while setting the date When changing the date backward while logged into an off-line network, system errors
occur . When these errors appear, you are then denied access to all net wo r ks.

Caveats
1. Before you load the GTS V2.2.0 Yr 2000 Enhancement, please load all of the needed, previously released GTS V2.2.0 patches.
2. Any subseque nt release from this enhancement will have year 2000 support already built in.
3. If you load this enhancement and then load a previously released patch, the contents of that patch will NOT have year 2000 support and will cause the patched application to have inconsistent date and time functionality.
4. If you DO load a patch released be fore the GTS V2.2.0 Yr 2000 Enhancement after you have loaded this enhancement, you MUST perform the following:
a) Shutdown the controller and disable auto-login. b) Reboot the controller. c) When the Login: prompt appears, press ALT-F2 d) Log in as gts e) T ype cd exe f) Type fix2000 -p * (This will take about five minutes to complete.)

5. Due to the way UNIX represents the date inte rnally, dates after the yea r 2037 are not supported.
Note Since this is a Xenix "tar" disk, rather than a release disk, this enhancement is not
loaded via the "Load a Software Release" function in the "Controller Maintenance" screen. Neither disk will be identified using the "Identify a Floppy Disk" poke point in the "Controller Maintenance" screen.
