Thank youfor having chosen aGemini alarm. This manual hasbeen written for you so that you can acquaint yourself with and get the best operation results with yourmotorbike alarm. We recommend you to read this manual both carefully and entirely here you will find some importantinformation, advices, and warningsthat will assist you in operatingand makingthe most ofyour device. Gemini's alarms, model 7854WS, are specifically designed for two-wheel vehicle protection. Thanks to a safety and comfort functionality, you can program the device according toyour actualneeds. Indeed, although equipped with a number of available functions, the device is programmed and delivered to the final customer in the so-called “basic” configuration. For thisreason too,we also suggestto keepthis manual safelyfor futureuse. In order to better understand the importance of the topics discussed in this manual, someicons willbe included. These are listed below, along with a brief description of their meaning and importance level.

DESCRIPTION OF ALARM CONTROL DEVICES
Remote control
In orderto use the alarm, it needs toreceive commands by the user; this canbe done bymeans ofremote controls andelectronic keys. A further possibility to deactivatethe alarm, when needed,is given by thePIN­CODE. Such procedure can be activated by means of the ignition key of the vehicle itself andis detailedin the relevantchapter.
The remote control is the main user “interface”; therefore, werecommend you to acquaintyourself withit. The remote control buttons activate several functions that differ according to the operationalcondition andthe alarm program. Please also note that buttons have been made different in form, in order to be better recognizedand identified. The alarm activation/deactivation button is dotted, while the siren button is plain. Toprevent problemswith the remote control, it has been providedwith adevice that willsignal thecharge condition ofthe batteriesinside. During normal use of the remote control, when you press a command button the greentransmission LEDwill light upwith asteady light. If the battery charge drops below the level needed to assure correct operation of the remote control, when you press a command button the green transmission LEDwill blink,advising you thatit istime to replacethe batteries.

Electronic key
The electronickey can beconsidered a kind of “simplified remote control.” As a matter of fact, in emergency situations (e.g. a failure in the remote control), itcan activate and deactivatethe alarm, or activateand deactivate the anti-hijacking function(if previouslyprogrammed). To use the electronic key, simply put it on the receptacle, and join the metallic contacts. The receptacle also incorporates the alarm state led.

ALARM OPERATION WITH BASIC CONFIGURATION
Pressing the(dotted) button #1 on theremote control or inserting the electronic key intothe receptaclewill activate thealarm. This action is indicated by one long flashing of the turn signals, two short acoustic signalsand thepermanent turning onof theLED

During alarm activation, should the seat or the trunk be opened, the alarm will signal the failure by means of a low-tone beep (BOOP) after the alarm arming signalling. In any case the alarm will be activated and, at the end of the "neutral time", an alarm conditionwill begenerated.
When the activation signals are finished,the alarm goes in standby orneutral­time condition,which issignalled with asteady-light LED. This timeduration isabout 20 seconds. The engine immobilization function and the connectors for optional modules are alreadyactive.

The passiveengine immobiliser is actived from the system40” after the turn-off of thevehicle. Lifting upthe seat or opening the trunk(if the supplementary button is installed) during the 40” of the immobiliser pre-arming, the time count will be cancelled and restartswhen theseat or thetrunk areclosed. During the first 4” of neutral time, it is possible to exclude the alarm built-in sensor (lifting); to do this, you must just put the electronic key into the specific receptacle, afterthe alarmsystem has beenactivated. At the end of the neutral time, after about 20 seconds, the alarm goes in the armed conditionand signalsthis with ablinking led. From now on, the alarm is ready to signal possible attempts to force the vehicle.
If, during the alert state,should occur anytheft attempt against the vehicle,the alarm will signal this by activating the high-volumesiren, lighting upthe red led with a steady light and causing the direction indicators to flash repeatedly for about 30seconds. The alarm may be activated by different causes, which also depend on the activated functionsdescribed below

When thealarm conditionsare over,the system willrevert tothe alert state. During the alarm condition it is still possible to deactivate the siren by pushing button #2(smooth) onthe remote control(without disarmingthe alarm).
Alarm conditions caused by shock, shifting/hitting, seat or trunk opening, will be signalledby theactivation of thesiren for8 times. From the sixth alarm condition on, the siren will cease to be active. This deactivationof thesiren is performedbecause ofthese simple reasons:

Power saving,to maximizethe vehicle battery. It is no use keeping the alarm on if, after 8 acoustic signals, nobody is
coming tocheck thevehicle.

Once the alarm cycle is over, the device will ignore any other alarm cause for eight seconds,while keepingthe led steadilyon. After thisinterval, theLED will startblinking again.

Pressing the(dotted) button #1 on theremote control or inserting the electronic key inthe receptaclewill deactivate thealarm. The alarm system will signal this change of status with the led switched off, three beepsand threeflashes of thedirection indicatorsat the sametime.
If during the armed period attempts have been made to force the vehicle, during the deactivation stagethe alarm will signal the event with two flashes of the directionindicators and,simultaneously, withtwo low-tone beeps. The last cause of alarm will be signalled with one or more flashes of the turn signals anda correspondingnumber of beeps,according tothe type of event.

The hazard signalling is useful when you want to park the vehicle, being the engine off andthe turn signals on. Toactivate/deactivate thisfunction, proceed asfollows:
Switch off theengine, by turning the ignition keyto “OFF”. Turn the ignition key to “ON”; the LED willbe illuminatedfor about 1”. During thisperiod, pushthe button nr2 ofthe radio control. Turn the ignition key to “OFF”; the turn signalswill startflashing.
Todeactivate the function,you must just turn againthe ignition keyto “ON” (and eventually to “OFF”), or arm and disarm the system by a remote (or electronic key).

In the different usage conditions, the alarm signalsthe currentoperation or thealarm memory. This is done using the direction indicators for the optical signals and using the sirenfor theacoustic signals, whichcan bedisabled.
during the stages of activation, deactivation, alarm memory, function programming, and recognition of new remote controls, the alarm will produce specific acoustic signals in order to show which function is being run. The acousticsignals canbe high-tone orlow-tone.
It allows to generatean alarm condition by pressingbutton #2on the remotecontrol. The panic signals can be as many as desired, but a minimum 5-second interval mustoccur betweentwo consecutive signals.
Pressing button #2 on the remote control will activate the loud­sound sirenand thedirection indicators forabout 30seconds. To deactivate the panic alarm, just press again button #2 on the remote control. This alarmsignalling can beactivated indifferently ofthe status ofthe alarm (activated/deactivated).

When the vehicle is not used, it is possible to switch completely off the alarm (sleep mode)in orderto reduce thebattery chargeconsumption. Toactivate thisfunction, proceed asfollows:
Turn the ignition key to “ON” position; the led will light for about one
second.
Put theelectronic keyinto the receptable,within 4seconds. An acousticsignal willindicate that thealarm isturned off. Turn the ignition key to “OFF” position. Tore-activate thealarm, turn theignition keyto “ON” and“OFF”.

USE AND MAINTENANCE
Please note that the alarm system is still an electronic device, so must be handled carefully. The following are simple hints which are useful if you want to prevent device damage because of an improper use.
Do notclean thealarm with water. Do notexpose thealarm to heatsources. Do not use power supply voltages which are different than those specified
by thefactory label.
If the motorbike is cleaned with a washing machine, be careful not to
directly exposethe alarmto the waterjets.
Use adamp clothto clean thealarm.

This apparatusis guaranteed against all defects of fabricationfor a period of 24 months from the installation date shownon thewarranty coupon below, taking into considerationthe 1999/44/CE. WARNING:
Use onlytype CR1616batteries. Using batteries different fromthose advised can seriouslydamage theremote control unit. Do notdiscard used batteries in the environment;they should be disposed of in appropriate containers.
REPLACING REMOTE CONTROL BATTERIES
The remotecontrol operatesusing alkaline batteries. Under normal use conditions of the remote control these will gradually lose their charge. The more you use the remote control, the sooner the batteries will become discharged. Toprevent problemswith the remote control, it has been provided witha device that willsignal thecharge condition ofthe batteriesinside. During normal use of the remote control, when you press a command button the greentransmission LEDwill light upwith asteady light. If the battery charge drops below the level needed to assure correct operation of the remote control, when you press a command button the green transmission LEDwill blink,advising you thatit istime to replacethe batteries. For batteryreplacement followthe indications reportedbelow. Separate the plastic shells of the remote control paying attention to not damage theinternal circuit.
Remove thedischarged batteries. Insert the new batteries in their housing, being careful to not invert the
polarity.
Close theplastic shellsof the remote. Verifythe efficiency of the remote control.
