Introduction
Thank you for buying the Gembird® Multimedia keyboard! This manual will help you install
and use it properly. KB-7000 is a Multimedia keyboard with PS/2 or USB interface with the
following main features:
o 22 hot keys for the Multimedia and Internet functions
o F-key function for the Office
o Scrolling wheel
o Specifications:

Keyboard installation
• USB Connection
Please plug the rectangular U SB connector into your computer's rectangular USB
port
• PS/2 Connection
1. Turn off the computer power
2. Attach the purple USB-to-PS/2 ada pter (if necessary) to the USB
connector, and then plug it into the computer's purple PS/2 keyboard
port

Software Installation
Caution: If you have previously installed other keyboard or mouse drivers on your
computer, please uninstall them first.
• Turn the computer on.
• To use all features of your keyboar d, install the software. If the program does not
auto-run, please find the "setup.exe" in the driver folder. And then follow the
instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
• Restart PC when the installation is completed. Make sure the "Office Keyboard
software" is executed and a Key Caps Icon appears in the system tray, in the
right corner of the taskbar.
Keyboard hotkeys
The Multimedia keyboard has 22 hotkeys.
Back : Go back to the previously viewed item in programs that support the "Back"
command, such as the Web browser.
Forward : Go to the next item if it was previously viewed in the same session in
programs that support the "Forward" command, such as the Web browser.
WWW : Start the default Web browser or go to the Home Web page. If the Web
browser is already activated, it opens the Home Web page .
STOP : Stop loading or refreshing a new page, if it takes too long time to display.

E-Mail : Start the default e-mail program. If you are not sure what your default
e-mail program is, press this key to find out.
My Favorites : Open the Internet Explorer Favorites pane. This is where you can store
shortcuts to frequently used files, websites or other items for easy access.
Search : Open the Internet Explorer Search pane.
Refresh : Update the information on an active Web page or the contents of a
particular window.
Word : Open Microsoft Word.
Excel : Open Microsoft Excel.
Power Point : Open Microsoft Power Point.
Calendar : Open the Calendar of Microsoft Outlook.
Play/Pause : Play or Pause music or a movie. Once paused, press this key again to
resume playing.
Stop : Stop the music or movie that is playing.
VolumeUp : Hold down this key to quickly increase the volume.
Volume Down : Hold down this key to quickly decrease the volume.
Mute : Turn the sound off. Press again to turn the sound back on.

PreviousTrack : Switch to the next media track. Pr ess once for each subsequent track.
Next Track : Switch to the previous media track. Press once for each preceding track.
Application Switch : Press and hold this key, it will pop up all previously open
application icons and a "mark frame" jumping between icons. The target application can be
selected and launched (On top) – just mark the target application and release the
"Application Switch key".
Close : Close the active Windows application when the key is pressed.
Cut : Cut out the selected item.
Copy : Copy the selected item.
Paste : Paste the previously cut out or copied item at the cursor position.
Mark : Mark the selected item, and use arrow to mark the text.
Eject : Eject the CD from the CD-Rom drive.
Back : Go back to the previously viewed item in programs that support the "Back"
command, such as the Web browser.
Forward : Go to the next item if it was previously viewed in the same session in
programs that support the "Forward" command, such as the Web browser.
My computer : Open the "My computer" window.

Calculator : Start Microsoft Calculator.
LOG Off : Open the Log Off Windows dialog box.
Sleep : You can put the system into sleep mode, if the PC supports power management.
If power management is not enabled, this key will not work.
Power : Put the system into power-off mode, if the PC supports power manageme nt
and it is enabled. You can switch the computer off by pressing this key. If the power
manageme nt is not enabled, power key will not work.
Note: Most hot keys may be re-configured to start other applications or Web pages. Please
refer to "How To Redefine The Hot Keys" for more detail.
"F" Key Functions
F Lock : Switch the function from the normal function keys (LED off)to the enhanced
function keys (LED on).
Help : Open the Help file in the active application that provides this feature.
New : Create a new document in the active application that provides this feature.
Open : Open a document in the active application that provides this feature.

Save : Save the document currently open and in focus. The target application should
provide this feature.
Replace : Search for, replace and go to the specified text in the active application.
Spell : Start the spell-checking program in the active application that provides this
feature.
Undo : Undo es the last action you carried out in the application you are working in. You
can press this key several times to undo multiple actions.
Redo : Reverses the action of the Undo command. If you have used undo several times,
you can press this key several times to reverse all of the undo actions.
Reply : Creates a Reply to an e-mail you have received. The reply is created to either
the e-mail currently open and in focus, or the e-mail highlighted in your Inbox; this function
might not work if it is used with other software than MS Outlook and Outlook Express.
Reply All : Creates a "Reply All" to an e-mail you have received. The "reply all" is
created to either the e-mail currently open and in focus, or the e-mail highlighted in your
Inbox; this function might not work if it is used with other software than MS Outlook and
Outlook Express.
Forward : Forwards an e-mail you have received. The e-mail forwarded is either that

currently open and in focus, or the e-mail highlighted in your Inbox; this function might not
work if it is used with other software than MS Outlook and Outlook Express.
Send : Sends an e-mail you have written. The e-mail sent is that currently open and in
focus; this function might not work if it is used with other software than MS Outlook and
Outlook Express.
Function of Navigation Wheel
When you press the "Navigation Wheel", a Menu will pop up on the screen.
The Menu will provide a quick access to the frequently used texts, shortcut to the
applications (documents) or target web site…, etc. You can immediately edit or insert the
sentence, name, address, password or text with a simple press of a key, as if using a mouse

to scroll and click. You can also create shortcuts for any frequently used tasks. Before using
the Menu, please configure it. Use Configure option of the popup menu to enter the text,
select the favorite application (document) or web site address (Short1-Short4) . It will open
a dialog box for entering the settings. Type the sentence, name, address, text and shortcut
to the application or web site (shortcut1-shortcut4). Click "OK" after the setting is
completed, see the picture below:
Now scroll and get the quick access to the actions from the Menu. If you select (click) "My
Text", you will see other items for further choices. See below:

Insert or paste the frequently used sentence, name, address or text into any Windows
application that is running in the background (Word, Excel…). If you select "Back" it will
return to the previously selected items. If you select "Exit" or "Esc key", the Menu will close
and disappear. See below:
Caution: If your mouse (mouse driver) is also equipped with a similar pop-up function, the

pop up functions of the keyboard and mouse might conflict. In this case, please disable this
feature in the mouse driver by setting the mouse wheel button to the standard mouse third
button or auto scroll - the keyboard pop-up function shoul d then work smoothly. To retain
the mouse function but disable the keyboard pop- up function, set the option shown below:
Re-Define the H ot K ey Functions
After installation, the Office Keyboard Software works in the background and controls the
functions of special hot keys.
When this software is active a "
" Icon appears in the system tray.

• Select "Office Keyboard"
Right-click the " " icon, the popup menu will appear. Select "Office
Keyboard" and you will see a new popup menu.
• Select "Configure Button" from this menu
You will see the keyboard 3D image as shown below. Use the mouse to choose
each hotkey to modify the default function.
• How to customize the hot keys
Click the "screen hotkey" to modify the function. The dialog box will appear.
There are 2 ways to define a new function.

(1). Select "Functions" (reference below dialog b ox) and choose the pre-defined functions
or applications. Choose one and confirm with "OK". The hot key on your keyboard will be
customized to the chosen function.
(2). Select "Launch Application or Website" (reference below dialog box) to launch any
other application not in the list. Click "Browse" to search for the application path/the file
name or Website URL address, then confirm with "OK". The hot key will be customized to
launch the chosen application/website.
