properly.

Driver installation under Windows 98
Put the Disk Drive into the CD-ROM, open the COMBO driver, double-click the installation icon, the below picture
will appear
When you see the following picture, please press "Next"

If you use a new HDD
Please use "FDisk" to partition your HDD, note that this will destroy all the data in the HDD
Format your HDD by standard procedures
Driver installation under Windows 2000/ME/XP
Under Windows 2000/ME/XP the driver will be installed automatically.
FAQ
Q1: I can see the icon in the system tray, but I still can’t f ind
my external HDD
A1:
Please make sure your HDD has been installed correctly
Please make sure your HDD has been set in “Master” mode
Please make sure you have installed correct driver for this
enclosure

Please make sure your HDD has been formatted. If no, please format your hard disk f irst
If you are sure you have installed correctly all the hardware and software, please follow the steps below to
f ind your HDD
Enter “Control Panel” and choose “System” icon
Choose “Device Manager” from the “Hardware” tab
Find a “Disk” category. There should be 3 drivers, double
click “Generic STORAGE DEVICE USB Device”
Find the “Settings” button and choose the option “Removable Drive”
Your computer will automatically assign a new letter to this portable HDD after restarting your computer
Q2: Why I can’t f ind my enclosure at all? A2: Such trouble might happen with some notebook models.
That’s because the notebook manufacturers remove the power from the USB port to reduce the heat in the notebook. It is also

possible that so me old computer models don’t supply suff icient power for USB. To solve this problem please, use the provided
power supply to provide enough power to the enclosure.
CAUTIONS
When using USB 2.0 interface external power is needed when HDD consumes power over 550mA
If you are not sure what OS you are using, please contact your PC dealer
Please don’t place this external enclosure in a humid or high-temperature environment
If by any reason your software installation is failed, please uninstall the wrong devices f irst. To do it please, open
“Control Panel > System > Device Manager” and remove all “PCI to USB Open Host Controllers” with “?” or “!” marks.
