Application
These combination starters are used for full voltage starting of
single-speed squirrel-cage induction motors up to 400 horsepower maximum, 600 Volts maximum. Each starter provides
short-circuit protection by means of a fusible disconnect, a
thermal magnetic trip circuit breaker, or circuit interrupter function with a nonfusible disconnect switch.
Features
—Branch circuit protection—is provided by means of a Type
QMR disconnect switch or molded case circuit breaker.
—Mechanism—always controls interrupting switch.
—Easy inspection, maintenance—performed from starter front.
—Optional factory-installed control transformer.

Product Number Selection Instructions
1. Specify starter by complete Product Number. Example:
CR308CT03HB1AAAAA is a Size 1 starter, combination disconnect form with 230-240 Volt, 60-Hertz coil and 60-Ampere
class H fuse clips in Type 1 general-purpose enclosure
2. Order special features or forms not listed by complete
description using a listed Product Number as reference.
Example: Similar to CR308CT03HB1AAAAA except with red
indicating light in cover.
3. 50-Hertz Starters
Pricing of starters for use on 50 Hertz (at standard voltages) is
the same as shown in tables for 60 Hertz. Order by description,
using a listed form as reference. Refer to page 1-4 for threephase horsepower rating at 380-415 Volts, 50 Hertz.
4. Control Transformer
All catalog listed CR307 and CR308 combination starters have
provision for field mounting a standard control circuit transformer. Refer to page 1-137 for transformer kit Product
Numbers and pricing. Also, see page 1-126 for information on
factory-installed standard and extra-capacity transformers.
Specify transformer rating on order.
5. Product Notes
Motor full-load current should not exceed continuous ampere
rating of starter.
Order heaters by complete Product Number from appropriate
heater tables on pages 1-153 to 1-159.
