Congratulations on your purchase of the 1:4 3GSDI Splitter. Your complete

The Gefen 1:4 3GSDI Splitter

The 1:4 3GSDI Splitter allows a single SDI, HD-SDI or 3G-SDI video source to be
distributed to (without loss of signal) four HD SDI/HDSDI/3G-SDI devices at the
same time. Crisp, highly defi ned visuals are generated in NTSC or PAL formats
supporting Standard and High Defi nition resolutions to 1080p Full HD.

How It Works

You simply connect your SDI source to the 1:4 3GSDI Splitter input, then
connect its outputs to your SDI Devices. Once the source, the SDI devices and
the Splitter are powered and connected, your source’s video will be distributed
simultaneously in pristine color and detail.

Note: Gefen’s 1:4 3GSDI Splitter is backward-compatible with all Gefen legacy
SDI equipment and signal types.

OPERATION NOTES

READ THESE NOTES BEFORE INSTALLING OR

OPERATING THE 1:4 3GSDI SPLITTER

• The 1:4 3GSDI Splitter will mirror its input on up to four outputs. There is
no scaling functionality built into this unit. Please ensure that the output
3G-SDI, HD-SDI or SDI device is capable of accepting the same timings and
resolutions of the input source.

• The 1:4 3GSDI Splitter will accept the following formats as input:

SDI/SMPTE 259M (up to 360Mbps)
HD-SDI/SMPTE 292M (1.485, 1.485/1.001 Gbps)
3G-SDI/SMPTE 424M/425M (2.97/3.0 Gbps)

PANEL DESCRIPTIONS

1 LED Active Indicator

This LED will become active once a valid input signal is input and detected.

2 LED Power Indicator

This LED will become active once the included 5V DC power supply is properly
connected between the sender and an open wall power socket.

3 3G-SDI Input

This input will accept a single 3G-SDI, HD-SDI or SDI source device.

4 3G-SDI Outputs 1-4

These output ports can accept (up to four) 3G-SDI, HD-SDI or SDI capable
devices. All output swill mirror the single input source.

5 5V DC Power Receptacle

This receptacle will require power from the included 5V DC power supply for
proper operation. Connect the included power supply between this port and
an open wall power socket. The power tip of the power supply screws into
the locking receptacle for a secure connection that cannot be broken when
accidentally moving the unit or pulling on the power cable in back of the unit.

CONNECTING AND OPERATING THE 1:4 3GSDI SPLITTER

How to Connect the 1:4 3GSDI Splitter

1. Connect a 3G-SDI, HD-SDI or SDI source device to the 1:4 3GSDI Splitter’s

single input using a user supplied cable.

2. Connect up to four 3G-SDI, HD-SDI or SDI capable devices to the 1:4

3GSDI Splitter’s outputs using user supplied cables.

3. Connect the included 5V DC power supply between the 1:4 3GSDI Splitter’s

power receptacle and an open wall power socket.

4. Initialize (power on) the output devices fi rst and the source device second.

NOTE:

How to Operate the 1:4 3GSDI Splitter

There are no further confi gurations necessary to operate the 1:4 3GSDI Splitter.

WARRANTY

Gefen warrants the equipment it manufactures to be free from defects in material
and workmanship.

If equipment fails because of such defects and Gefen is notifi ed within two (2)
years from the date of shipment, Gefen will, at its option, repair or replace the
equipment, provided that the equipment has not been subjected to mechanical,
electrical, or other abuse or modifi cations. Equipment that fails under conditions
other than those covered will be repaired at the current price of parts and labor in
effect at the time of repair. Such repairs are warranted for ninety (90) days from
the day of reshipment to the Buyer.

This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties expressed or implied, including
without limitation, any implied warranty or merchantability or fi tness for any
particular purpose, all of which are expressly disclaimed.

1. Proof of sale may be required in order to claim warranty.

2. Customers outside the US are responsible for shipping charges to and from
Gefen.

3. Copper cables are limited to a 30 day warranty and cables must be in their
original condition.
