Gefen’s 1:4 DVI Distribution is a distribution hub that sends the same DVI graphics
source to up to four DVI digital displays (fl at panels or projectors). It is a reliable
solution that accommodates four digital video displays at the same time, creating a
multi-viewing environment that maintains the highest resolution video at all times.

How It Works

The 1:4 DVI Distribution Amplifi er is connected with a DVI (male to male) cable from
the DVI graphic source to the 1:4 DVI Distribution Amplifi er input. There are four DVI
outputs. DVI output one is the primary connection and is used for the main display.
DVI outputs two through four follow the main display.

OPERATING THE 1:4 DVI DISTRIBUTION AMPLIFIER

• Display information (EDID) is sent from the display connected to DVI
Output Port 1 to the source connected to the 1:4 DVI Distribution
Amplifi er. (See note on page 4 for additional information)

• The 1:4 DVI Distribution Amplifi er is not HDCP compliant

• The 1:4 DVI Distribution Amplifi er will only output a DVI-D (DVI Digital) signal

• Compatible with all DVI displays

CONNECTING AND OPERATING THE 1:4 DISTRIBUTION AMPLIFIER

Connect the supplied cable from the computer DVI source into the DVI input port
of the 1:4 DVI Distribution Amplifi er .

Connect the user supplied cable(s) from your display(s) into the DVI output
port(s)* of the1:4 DVI Distribution Amplifi er.

Plug the 5V DC power supply into the 1:4 DVI Distribution Amplifi er.

NOTE: *Display information (EDID) is sent from the display connected to HDMI
Output Port 1 to the source connected to the 1:4 DVI Distribution Amplifi er.
The source will output resolutions and timings according the EDID that is being
fed by the 1:4 DVI Distribution Amplifi er. Therefore, all of the connected displays
must be capable of accepting the timings and resolution output by the source. It
is recommended that the display with the lowest native resolution be connected to
DVI output port 1. This is to ensure that a compatible video signal will be able to be
displayed on all connected monitors.

Rack mount ears are provided for installation of this unit into a 1U rack mount
space.

1. Locate the side screws on the unit.

2. Remove the front 2 screws that are located closest to the front of the unit.

3. Using the removed screws, screw the rack mounting bracket into the unit.

4. Repeat the procedure on the opposite side of the unit.

WARRANTY

Gefen warrants the equipment it manufactures to be free from defects in
material and workmanship.

If equipment fails because of such defects and Gefen is notifi ed within two (2)
year from the date of shipment, Gefen will, at its option, repair or replace the
equipment, provided that the equipment has not been subjected to mechanical,
electrical, or other abuse or modifi cations. The two year warranty is only valid
on new products purchased as of January 2007. All products purchased before
this date still retain their 1 year warranty.

Equipment that fails under conditions other than those covered will be repaired
at the current price of parts and labor in effect at the of repair. Such repairs are
warranted for ninety (90) days from the day of reshipment to the Buyer.

This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties expressed or implied, including
without limitation, any implied warranty or merchantability or fi tness for any
particular purpose, all of which are expressly disclaimed.

1. Proof of sale may be required in order to claim warranty.

2. Customers outside the US are responsible for shipping charges to and
from Gefen.

3. Copper cables are limited to a 30 day warranty and cables must be in their
original condition.
