Switches extended desktop dual VGA displays, USB 1.1 & audio between
any two computers

Our 2x2 VGA Switcher enables you to connect and access two computers using one workstation
equipped with dual VGA monitors and one USB keyboard/mouse. Analog video, keyboard/mouse
control and audio are "switched" for each computer, providing you with an easy and effective way
to alternate access to greater amounts of data at the touch of a button.

Dual monitors, in this case, refers to the use of two monitors that are running an extended desktop
setup so that the entire digital image is extended over two monitors providing a greater digital
desktop on which to work. The 2x2 switcher will not mirror the same desktop but will provide
support for dual displays.

The 2x2 switcher will NOT switch between four computers and two displays or four computers and
one display.

How It Works

You simply connect both computer's VGA video, USB and audio ports to the 2x2 VGA Switcher's
inputs using the supplied cables. Then you connect both VGA displays, the USB keyboard/mouse
and an optional audio device to the Switcher's outputs. Once powered and connected, you switch
between computers by key switch or remotely using contact closure remote control.

INTRODUCTION

Thank you for purchasing Gefen’ s ex•tend•it 2x2 VGA Switcher series. The 2x2 VGA
Switcher switches VGA, USB and Audio between any combination of two computers.
Now you can switch easily and reliably between any combination of two computers using
two VGA displays, USB keyboard and mouse.

The 2x2 VGA Switcher saves space – there’s no need to work on a desk crowded with
four monitors, keyboards and mouse devices. It saves time – there’s no need to move
from one monitor to another to access different computers. And it saves money – there’s
no need to purchase additional monitors, mouse devices, keyboards etc.

The 2x2 VGA Switcher allows you to choose between any combination of Macintosh or
PC computers and switching two monitors side by side.

HOW TO CONNECT THE 2x2 VGA Switcher

1- Connect the cables from your fi rst computer into the VGA-1 1, VGA-1 2, USB and
Audio connection in the back of the 2x2 VGA Switcher.

2- Connect the cable from your second computer into the VGA-2 1, VGA-2 2, USB and
Audio connection in the back of the 2x2 VGA Switcher.

3- Connect the monitors to the VGA Out (1 and 2) connections.
4- Plug the 12v power supply into the 2x2 VGA Switcher.
5- Plug the 12v wallmount power supply into the wall outlet.
6- Start your computers only after you’ve made all the connections.
7- Press select, to switch between Computer 1 or Computer 2 or switch remotely using

the optional contact closure remote control.

WARRANTY

Gefen Inc. warrants the equipment it manufactures to be free from defects in material
and workmanship.

If equipment fails because of such defects and Gefen Inc. is notifi ed within two (2) year
from the date of shipment, Gefen Inc. will, at its option, repair or replace the equipment,
provided that the equipment has not been subjected to mechanical, electrical, or other
abuse or modifi cations.

Equipment that fails under conditions other than those covered will be repaired at the
current price of parts and labor in effect at the time of repair. Such repairs are warranted
for ninety (90) days from the day of reshipment to the Buyer.

This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties expressed or implied, including without
limitation, any implied warranty or merchantability or fi tness for any particular purpose, all
of which are expressly disclaimed.

1. Proof of sale may be required in order to claim warranty.

2. Customers outside the US are responsible for shipping charges to and from Gefen.

3. Copper cables are limited to a 30 day warranty and cable must be free from any
scratches, markings, and neatly coiled.
