• The new \_riable speed compressor is designed to rtm fi)r longer
periods of time to oi)timize efliciencv and noise. You may notice the
coml)ressor and/or tim speeds accelerate based upon door ol)enings
and/or increased fl)od loads.
• You may hear the rims spinning at high speeds. This hai_pens when
the reti'igerator is first plugged in, when the doors are opened
frequently or when a large amotmt of fl)od is added to the
reii'igerator or fl'eezer compartments. The rims are helping to
maintain the correct temperatures.
• Door left open or package holding door open.

the COill[)i'essoi" ill otor.
• The rims change speeds in order to provide optimal cooling and

• These NORMAl, sotmds will also be heard fl'om time to time:
• You may hear a whooshing or gm'gling sound when the doo_

• A water dripping noise may occm" dm'ing the defrost cycle as ice
melts fl'om the evaporator and flows into the drain pan.
• The flow of refl'igerant through the fl'eezer cooling coils may
make a gurgling noise like boiling water.

• You may hear cracking or poi)ping sotmds when the refl'igerator is

the refl'igerator cools to the correct temperatm'e.
• Electronic dampers click open and closed to provide optimal
