GE’s UltraView KTC-XP3 is the next generation in wide dynamic range
cameras. Like the rst generation KTC-XP1, the UltraView XP3 uses the latest XPosure™ image analysis technology to provide worldleading performance in challenging lighting conditions combined with dramatically improved low-light performance.
KTC-XP3 UltraView camera
XPosure technology optimizes the exposure for each pixel on the sensor, showing details in shadows and highlights. This performance allows every detail to be captured accurately even in the most dicult lighting conditions such as lobbies, loading docks, retail applications and ATMs with bright backlight.
Unlike traditional CCD cameras, which can only read the light hitting the sensor once, XPosure™ can read the sensor several dozen times per second and optimize each pixel’s exposure level. In eect, each pixel gets its own analogto-digital (ADC) converter. The result is a dynamic range 100 times better than standard CCD cameras–over 95 db in normal operations compared to 48 to 60 db on other cameras. Signal-to-noise ratios are also dramatically better with the UltraView XP3. And unlike CCD WDR solutions, XPosure performs without dropping frames or frame averaging.
But the biggest advance in the UltraView XP3 is its low-light performance. The XP3 provides image analysis that can be specically tuned for each application. Features such as tunable gain stepping and individual color saturation sliders allow ne-tuning of the KTC-XP3 to t
specic needs. Several pre-made proles allow a user to set the camera up for the majority of situations, while intuitive and easy-to-use tuning features the XP3 to t a range of requirements.
Another revolutionary feature of the UltraView XP3 is dual-temperature calibration. All cameras get hot, and when they do, they perform dierently than when they are rst set up. The KTC-XP3 is dual-temperature calibrated at the factory, so the camera knows how to adjust gain, white balance and other settings based on its environment. The camera is then able to get the best possible images in any situation and at any temperature.
The XP3 is 520 TVL, so images will appear in high resolution and with the crispest possible detail. For low-light images, the XP3 can be ne-tuned for gain control, and can be set to switch to low-light friendly black-and-white mode. Sensitivity on the XP3 is an amazing 0.5 lux at the sensor (50 IRE).
Like the KTC-XP1, the KTC-XP3 features dual analog BNC output, universal 12 VDC / 24 VAC power input, Digital OSD and the ability to switch from NTSC to PAL on the y.
