flammable or explosive substances to the tanks. These substances give off vapors that could ignite

Never reach into drawer while the washer is
moving. Wait until the machine has completelg stopped before opening the drawer.
Do not store liquid chlorine bleach in tanks.
Use manual flow-through dispenser on the washing machine for dispensing chlorine bleach.
Do not refill tanks with different brands or
concentrations of liquid HE(High Efficiencg) detergents and concentrated liquid fabric
softeners, as this could cause the fluids to congeal and lead to blockage of
the SmartDispense sgstem.
Remove and wash tanks thoroughlg before using a different brand or concentration of liquid HE(High Efficiencg) detergent
and concentrated liquid fabric softener.
Donot slam the pedestal drawer closed. This
could result in damage to the SmartDispense sgstem.
Never attempt to operate this appliance
if it isdamaged, malfunctioning, partiallg disassembled, or has missing or broken parts,
including a damaged cord or plug. To minimize the possibilitg of electric shock,
unplug this appliance from the power supplg or disconnect the washer at the building's
distribution panel bg removing the fuse or switching off the circuit breaker before
attempting ang maintenance or cleaning. NOTE:Pressing the power button does NOT

SmartDispense" Detergent Dispenser Water Hardness Calibration
Priorto the first use,the washer needs
to be calibrated for water hardness.Please follow directions below to calibrate the washer to the hardnessof your tap water.
Determine the Hardness of Your Tap Water
Inthe bag that contained these instructions,
Uoushould find a water hardnesstest strip package. Readthe instructions on the
package, remove the test strip and follow the instructions to determine the hardness
levelof uour tap water. Youwill use this information to calibrate uour washer to dispensethe optimal amount of detergent.

The Instruction Panel
Pressthe tabs on the sidesof the instruction panel.Slowly rotate the instruction panel
toward gou until it stops. Finally,slide the panel down infront of the tanks into the slot
available. After adding laundrg product, liftthe panel
out of its resting position;then rotate the panel closed until it snaps into its horizontal position.
NOTE:The drawer will not fullg close if the panel is in its open position.
The Detergent Tanks
Toremove either of the two outer tanks, grasp the sensor at the rear of the tank, using
the grip provided,and pullthe sensor straight
up.Loosen the supplg tube bg rotating 1/4 turn the tube and fitting until the tube
can be pulled straight up.
Eachtank can hold 350 ounces of liquid HE(High Efficiencg)laundry detergent-
approximatelg 100washes of regular concentration detergent. The sgstem
requiresthat at least 100 ounces of new detergent must be added to the tank
to recognizethat it has been filled.
Detergentis pumped to the washer at the beginning ofthe wash cgcle.

Donot put any other substance into the tanks besides liquid HE(High Efficiencg)detergent.
Donot fill the tank while it is removed from
the drawer.
TheSmartDispense'" sgstem determines how much detergent to supplg to the
washer,depending on the load size,

The Fabric Softener Tank
Toremove the center tank, grasp the sensor at the rear ofthe tank, using the grip provided,
and pull the sensorstraight up. Loosenthe supplg tube bLtrotating 1/4 turn the tube and
fitting untilthe tube can be pulled straight up.
Removethe tank bg tilting slightlg toward the
washer and pulling straight up.
Eachtank can hold 95 ounces of concentrated liquid fabric softener,enough
for approximatelg 75 loads of concentrated liquid fabric softener.
Do not dilute with water.
If desired,concentrated liquidfabric softener ispumped to the washer at the correct time
in the wash cgcle.
Donot put any other substance into the tank besidesconcentrated liquid fabric softener.
TheSmartDispense'" sgstem determines how much softener to supplg to the washer,
depending on user inputs for the wash CLlcle.
NOTE:Use only concentrated liquid fabric softener.

About the SmartDispense TM pedestal features.
Concentration Level
SmartDispense" can use any liquid
HE(High Efficiency)detergent, regardless of its concentration level.
Hany liquid HE(HighEfficiency)detergents can be found in a concentrated form, meaning
that it has more active ingredients in each drop,taking up lessspaceas it uses less
fluid per wash.
Dispense Level
SmartDispense" can dispensea little more
or lessliquid HE(High Efficiency)detergent or concentrated liquid fabric softener,depending
on your preferred washing habits.
Theconcentration levelcan usually be found on the label or cap ofthe liquid
HE(High Efficiency)detergent bottle.
Youcan selectthe concentration of your detergent every time you change
the settings for the SmartDispense feature.
Ifthe concentration is not explicitly
identified on the bottle, select"Regular" asthe concentration levelwhen setting
the SmartDispense'" options.
A dispenselevelof "IV]ore'' will add 50% more liquid HE(High Efficiency)detergent or 100%
more concentrated liquidfabric softener than a standard dose.
Youcan adjust the dosage level every time you change the settings
for the SmartDispense feature in order to
customize itto the way you normally wash your clothes.
A dispenselevelof "Norm" corresponds
to a standard dose,as recommended by the liquid HE(High Efficiency)detergent
and concentrated liquid fabric softener manufacturers.
A dispenselevelof "Less"will use 25% less liquid HE(High Efficiency)detergent or 25%
lessconcentrated liquid fabric softener than a standard dose.

TheSmartDispense TM Pedestalautomaticallg dispenses liquid HE(High Efficiencg)detergent and/or concentrated liquid fabric softener into each cgcle based on loadsize,soil level
and water hardness. Toutilizethe SmartDispense Detergent Dispenser,it must
first be filled.Although ang liquid HE(High Efficiencg)laundrg detergent and concentrated liquid fabric softener can be used in the SmartDispensesgstem, allliquid HE(HighEfficiencg) detergents and concentrated liquid fabric softeners are not
the same.
Do not mix any liquid HE(High EfficiencyJdetergents of unlike brands, concentrations or scents within the detergent tanks, as this couldcausethe detergents to congealand lead to blockage of theSmartDispense system. Do not mix any concentrated liquidfabric softeners of unlike brands or scents within the fabric softener tank. Do not mix any liquid HE(High Efficiency) detergents with concentrated liquid fabric softeners in any of the tanks. Removeand wash tanksthoroughly before using a different brand,
concentrationor scent ofliquids.
To
Fill Your Detergent Tank:
1.
Selectwhich ofthe two outer tanks gou wish to fill. Openthe tank for filling bg turning the cap counterclockwise until the cap isloose. Liftthe cap off.
NOTE:Do not fillthe tank while it is removed from the drawer. Fluidmag

Toopen the SmartDispense" Pedestalfor filling, slide
open the pedestal drawer to the maximum possibledistance. Openthe instruction panel bg pressing the tabs at the sides ofthe panel,rotate the panel toward gou and slide it down
in the slot available. NOTE:Thefirst time gour washer recognizesthat
the SmartDispense sgstem has beenactivated, itwill
automaticallg fillthe supplg lineswith detergent and/or
fabric softenerfor all active tanks.This processwill
last approximatelg two minutes and will onlgoccur at the beginning of the first cgcle that uses
the SmartDispense sgstem.

Cleaning the SmartDispense T" Detergent and Fabric Softener
Tanks:
Detergent and fabric softener may build up in the bottom ofthe $martDispense tanks
or on the fluid sensors.Residueshould be
removed beforerefilling tanks.

Loosenthe supplgtube bg rotating
the fitting 90° until the tube can be pulled
straight up.

Wipe the surface of the tube and place it
on the back surface of the drawer or an adjacent tank.
12.Open the tank cap and refillwith the desired detergent or fabric softener.
13.Closethe information panel and the pedestal drawer.
14.Adjust the setting in the SmartDispense menu if ang changes were made to the concentration of the detergent
selected or to the location of the tank that isbeing used.

Removethe tank bg tilting it slightlg toward
the washer and pulling straight up.

Rinsethe insideof the tank, usinghot
water onlg to removethe residue.

Oncethe tank has been rinsed thoroughlg, replacethe tank inthe drawer before refillingthe tank.
10.Reattach the supplg tube bg inserting it into the tank and tightening the fitting bg rotating toward the back.
11.Replacethe sensor bg inserting it into the tank in its original position.

INSTALLATION PREPARATION
Remove the packaging.
The Installation Kit is taped at the top of the shipping carton. Remove the kit and set aside for final installation.
Flatten the product carton to use as a pad to lag the washer down on its side. Continue using the carton to protect the finished floor in front of the installation
location.

REMOVE THE LEVELING LEGS

Carefullg lag the washer on its side to occess the leveling legs on the bottom of the appliance.

IMPORTANT: Do not lay the washer on its back. Do not remove the shipping bolts on
the back side of the washer. The bolts must
remain in place until the washer is returned
to an upright position.
Use an open-end wrench to remove
the washer leveling legs.

r_l PREPARE THE PEDESTAL
[] Pull the
drawer out as far as it
will go.
[] Remove
the screws from the
drawer slides. Detach the wiring connector and the
hose connector at the back of the drawer. Slide the drawer out of the base and set aside.
I_ Remove the screws from the service panels at
the rear of the pedestal and place the panels within the pedestal.

[] LEVEL THE WASHER
Stand the washer upright. Move it close to its final location.
Make sure that the washer is level bg placing o spirit level on top. Check side to side and front to back.
Use on open-ended

wrench to adjust the legs in and out. Tighten the Iocknut against the bottom of the pedestal.
NOTES:
To minimize vibration, the locking nuts must be tight.
To reduce vibration, ensure that all four rubber leveling legs are firmly touching
the floor. Push and pull on the back right
and then back left of your washer.
[] INSTALL THE PEDESTAL
TO THE WASHER
Place the pedestal against the bottom of the unit. Check to be sure the drawer front
is at the front of the unit.
Align the holes in the pedestal with the holes
in the bottom of the unit. Use a Phillips screwdriver to install the/4 screws through
the front of the pedestal and through the rear
panels and into the unit-do not tighten.
I_1 Slide the pedestal toward the unit, until it is
aligned front to back. Use an 8 mm socket
wrench to securelg tighten the screws.
rsi REINSTALL THE DRAWER
Check to be sure the slides
ore closed. Slide the
drawer into the opening.
Align the drawer
supports to the slides on each side.

Open the drawer fullg. Reottoch the hose connector and wiring connector at the rear
of the drawer. Make sure both connections ore secure.

Reinstall the original screws into each drawer slide. Tighten both screws. The drawer should slide smoothlg when gou push it closed.
I_1 REMOVE SHIPPING SCREWS
Remove the 4 shipping screws, plastic support
tubes and rubber grommets on the back side
of the washer.
Replace the service panels on the back and tighten the screws.

Remove 4 protective caps from the rear of the washer and SmortDispense'" Pedestal.
Attach the electric connector to the rear
of the washer and the rear of the pedestal. Press the cord into the protective holders along the back of the washer.
Attach the hose connector to the rear

of the washer and the rear of the pedestal. Press all three tubes into the three protective holders along the back of the washer.
Connect the Quick Connect
Hose to the back of the washer

PREFERRED CONFIRMATION OF INSTALLATION
Fill your detergent tank with liquid HE (High Efficiency) laundry detergent and softener
tank with concentrated liquid fabric softener.

of the Owner's Manual).
Run a Speed Wash. This will fill your

SmartDispense supply lines with detergent and/or fabric softener for all active tanks
selected in Step B.
NOTE: If the machine could not run a Speed
Wash, check the following:
1. Screw the hose and electrical connectors in tightly on the back of the washer and pedestal.
2. Make sure all 3 sensors ore plugged into the connector on the back of the drawer
inside the pedestal.

Thefirst time your washer recognizesthat the
SmartDispensesystem has been activated, itwill automatically fill the supply lineswith detergent and/or
fabric softener for all activetanks. Thisprocess will last approximately two minutes and will only occur at the
beginning of the first cycle that usesthe SmartDispense system.
Thewasher will spinfor a short time at the beginning
of every cycle when SmartDispense has been selected.
Bysensing the sizeof the load in the basket,the washer
will be ableto determine how much liquid HE(High
Efficiency)detergent/concentrated liquid fabric softener
to dispense.
