@Cooking utensilsmay become hot because of heat
transferred from the heated food. S­This is especiallytrue if plastic wrap has been coveringthe top and handles ofthe utensil.

leavethe probe inside the oven without inserting it infoodor
liquid, and turn on microwave energy,it can create electrical arcing in the ovenand darnage ovenwalls.
~ Plastic utensils—Plastic utensilsdesignedfor microwave cookingare very useful, but shouldbe used carefully.Even
microwaveplasticmay not be as tolerant of overcooking
conditionsas are glassor ceramic materials and may softenor char if subjectedto
short periods of overcooking.In longer exposures to overcooking, the food and utensilscould ignite. For these reasons: 1)Use Microwaveplasticsonly and use
them in strictcompliancewith the utensil manufacturer’s recommendations. 2) Do not subjectempty utensilsto microwaving.3) Do notpermit children to use plastic utensils without complete supervision.

with containerstightlycovered with plasticwrap, removecover­ing carefilly anddirect steam awayfrom handsand face.
