Installation Instructions
for your new
RAVWPT8
RAVWPT14
Wall Plenum
Before you begin - Read these instructions completely and carefully.
IMPORTANT – OBSERVE ALL GOVERNING CODES AND ORDINANCES.
Note to Installer – Be sure to leave these instructions with the Consumer.
Note to Consumer – Keep these instructions with your Owner’s Manual for future reference.
YOUR WALL PLENUM WILL ONLY WORK IF INSTALLED CORRECTLY. MAKE SURE
TO INSTALL IT IN THE CORRECT ORIENTATION AS SHOWN IN THE ILLUSTRATIONS.
Select the proper plenum kit based on the wall thickness: RAVWPT8 adjusts for walls 5.5-8.0” thick or
RAVWPT14 adjusts for walls 8-14.0” thick. For ease of installation, Grille Kit RAVAL2 should be installed at time
of Wall Plenum Installation.
Parts Included
There are two parts to a Wall Plenum:
Part A - Outside Plenum
Installed so grille attachment flanges are on the outside of the building and 45°
drip ledge is at the bottom
Part B - Inside Plenum
Installed so the large opening on bottom and the 3/4” flanges are against the
inside wall of the building.

Installation Instructions
STEP 1
Measure, Cut, and Frame out the Outside Wall Plenum Opening
IMPORTANT: The dimension from the top of the sill (bottom framing of rough opening) to the platform surface
changes depending on what model is to be installed. See Table A to determine the proper dimension for a specific
model.
NOTE: A minimum platform height of 8 inches is recommended to
access drain connections.
Measure and mark on the inside of the external closet wall the
plenum cutout dimensions as shown. Cut, frame, and square rough
opening. The wall plenum has a 3/4” flange all the way around to
cover the rough cut opening
9,000, 12,000, and 18,000 BTU/hr - Chassis Height 32”
The plenum cut out dimensions are 24-5/8” wide x 30-7/8” high.
The top of the sill must be 3/4” from the platform surface the unit
will sit on.
18,000 BTU/hr - Chassis Height 47”
The plenum cut out dimensions are 24-5/8” wide x 30-7/8” high.
The top of the sill must be 1-1/2” from the platform surface the unit
will sit on.
IMPORTANT: The wall plenum is not designed to carry
24-5/8”
structural loads. A proper header opening must be built into the
rough opening. The plenum requires flashing, shim, and caulk for a
weather-resistant installation.
It is the responsibility of the contractor to properly install the
30-7/8”
plenum and meet building code requirements.

Install Grille Kit RAVAL2 (not included) on the Outside Plenum
NOTE: The Grille Kit RAVAL2 is best installed
onto the Outside Plenum (Part A) prior to the
wall plenum being installed in the building. Grille
installation is easier at this point, and it will help
keep the wall plenum square during installation.

Plenum Installation
NOTES:
• A properly sized header and rough in framing must conform to all national and local building codes.
• Before caulking and permanent attachment, dry fit the outside plenum into the rough opening and check for fit,
squareness and that the plenum is level.
• When securing the plenum into the opening drive screws into the vertical sides of the plenum only. Water may
penatrate into framing if screws are driven into the bottom of the plenum. See Detail A below.

1. Install Outside Wall Plenum
Prior to the outside plenum being inserted into the rough opening for the final time, flashing should be installed and
the plenum should be caulked along the flange on all four sides to provide a weather-resistant seal. With the plenum
properly caulked, push the outside plenum into the rough opening until the flanges of the plenum are against the
wall. Once installed, the outside plenum should be securely attached to the frame opening. Drive screws through the
vertical sides only to secure the plenum (Detail A).
Caulk may need to be applied to the outside of the building along the plenum frame to insure a water tight seal.
