Installation Overview
NOTE: THE ACCESSORY DRAIN PAN
(RAVDP18) MUST BE INSTALLED
BEFORE INSTALLING THE UNIT. This
kit is only used on the 18,000 units with a
chassis height of 47 inches.
1. The accessory drain pan has two (2)
provisions (left and right) for connecting
to an external condensate drain.
2. A field supplied condensate drain
system must be connected to one of the
two 3/4” FPT connections.

plugged using the 3/4” plug (provided).
The pipe threads must be sealed with
field supplied Teflon tape or sealant
before securing the drain plug to the
drain pan.
4. Failure to follow these procedures may
result in serious property damage.
5. Kit RAVDP18 is the primary drain pan.
A field supplied secondary condensate

Drain Pan Installation
IMPORTANT: Drain pan installation is for 18,000 BTU/hr, chassis height 47 inches units only.
STEP 1
Cut Opening in Bottom Rubber Seal
Remove an 8-1/4” portion of the rubber weather seal from the bottom left surface of the plenum.
To remove: Cut the bottom seal in the lower left corner of the plenum. Then make a second cut 8-1/4” from the left
corner of the plenum. Remove the 8-1/4” section of the rubber seal. The seal should peel away from the plenum leaving
a clean mounting surface. (See Figure 1.)
Cut gasket at a
45° angle into
the left corner
of the plenum.

IMPORTANT: Drain pan installation is for 18,000 BTU/hr, chassis height 47 inches units only.
STEP 2
Install Drain Plug
The drain pan comes with both left and righthand drain connections locations (Figure 3).
Determine which one of the two connections will
be used to drain the condensate. Then, with
the factory supplied drain plug, plug the unused
opening.
See Step 6 for examples of how the drain line
could be run.
NOTE: Pipe sealant/Teflon tape must be
applied to the connection to prevent leaks.
STEP 3
Seal and Set Drain Pan
Prior to placing the drain pan into the
gap in the bottom seal created in Step
1 run a 1/4” bead of sealant the entire
length of the gap in the bottom seal.

STEP 5
Install Drain Line
Condensate line routing options are shown below. Choose the one that best suits your installation. Never run the
condensate line as shown in Option 4 below, as the drain line will come into contact with the factory-installed isolators
beneath the unit.
IMPORTANT: The drain pan and line must be kept free from debris. Prior to installing the chassis ensure that there are
no blockages in the drain pan or line.
