CAUTlON: Attaching adapter ground terminal to wall receptacle
cover screw does not ground the appliance unless cover screw is metal, and not insulated, and wall receptacle is grounded through house wiring. Youshould have
the circuit checked bya qualified electrician to make sure the receptacle is properly grounded.
When disconnectingthe power cordfromthe adapter, always hold the adapter with one hand. If this

Temperature control
Whenyou turn the TEMPERATURE control to the desired setting, the thermostat will automatically control the temperature of the indoor air.
The higher the number selected, the cooler the indoor air will be.
The Save Energy Rangeis a visual reminder that you can conserve
energy by selecting a higher room temperature but still keep the room cool and less hurrlid than outside.
ventilationcontrol
When the VENTll_ATlON control
is set at “closed” the vent door is
closed and only the air inside the
‘roomcan be circulated and condi-
tioned. When it’s in the “open” pOSition, the vent door is open and indoor air can be exhausted from
the room.

The ENERGY SAVER switch controls the fan operation. When it’s in the “norm” position, the fan wili circulate room air continuously. When it’s in tIIe “save” position, the fan will automatically cycle on and off with the
compressor. Icorfan only operation, ENERGY S/4VERs witcl~must be in “norm” position.

*LO FAN permits continuous low fan

*ULTRA LO FAN permits continuous
ultra low fan speed operation without cooling.
*For fan only opera~ion,ENERGY

HI COOL permits cooling with con-
tinuous high fan speed operation, LO COOL permits cooling with
continuous lowfan speed operation. ULTRALO COOL permits cooling
with continuous ultra low fan speed operation.

For norn%alcooling
1. Set SELECTORswitch at
HI
COOL.
2. Set TEMPERATUREcontrol at desired number (usuallythe midpoint is a good starting position).
/f room temperature is not satisfactory after a reasonabletime, set the thermostat control at a higher number for a cooler room or at a lower number for awarmer room.
3. Slide ENERGY SAVEI?switch to the desired position–’’save” or “norm.”
4. Set VENTILATION control at “closed” position.
For maximum cooling
1. Set SELECTORswitch at
HI COOL.
2. Set TEMPERATUREcontrol at10.
3. Slide ENERGY SAVER switch to “norm” position.
4. Set VENTILATION control at “closed” position.
For Qtlieteroperation
1. Set SELECTORswitch at ULTRALO COOL.
2. Set THERMOSTAT control at desired number.
3. Set VENTILATION control at “closed” position.
4. Slide ENERGY SAVER switch to desired position.
Note: When ENERGY SAVER switch is at “save;’ changes in sound level maybe more apparent asthe fan-cycles on and off with the compressor.
For nighttime operation
During the cooler evening hours,
it is recommended that you set the SELECTOR switch at ULTRA LO COOLfor very quiet operation and
the TEMPERATURE control at midrange (4).
For extreme temperatures
For greatest economy and best
performance, we suggest you alwaysset the SELECTOR switch at HI COOL in extrernely hot weather.
Wipe front grille with a clean cloth lightly dampened with mild liquid dishwashing detergent. Washcab!net with mild soap or detergent and lukewarm water.
For
ventilation
Whethercontrols aresetfor cooling orfan operation only, setting the VENTILATIONcontrol at“open” lets roomair be exhausted to the outside. This ishelpful in removing stale air, smokeor odorsfrom the room.
However, cooling effectiveness is reduced when this control is set at “open” so we suggest you don’t
keep it there long–especially in
hot, humid weather.
SIDE-TO-SIDE AIR DIRECTION
To adjustairdirection
Position the horizontal louvers with your fingertips to direct air discharge up or down. Use the tabs to position the hidden vertical
louvers to direct air discharge to the left, right or any position in
between.
condenser coils
These coils on the weather side of the unit should be checked period-
ically and cleaned if clogged with dirt or soot from the atmosphere. If extremely soiled, they may need to be steam cleaned, a service avail-
