units. Do not put them in a dishwasher. Do not
self clean the surfi/ce units in tile oven.

} When preparing flaming foods under the hood,

turn the rim on.
To axoid the possibility of a burn or electric

shock, always be certain that the controls for all
surfilce units are at the OFFposition and all coils
are cool befbre attempting to lift or remove

a unit.

} Clean the cooktop with caution. If a wet sponge

is used to wipe spills on a hot cooktop, be
carefld to avoid steam burns.

Foods fbr flying should be as dU as possible.
Frost on flozen fbods or moisture on flesh

foods can cruise hot lilt to bubble up and over

Always heat lilt slowly, and watch as it heats.

Use a deep lilt them_ometer whenever possible
to prevent overheating lilt beyond the smoking

When using cooking or roasdng bags in the

oven, fbllow the manufilcturer's directions.

Do not use the oven to dU newspapers.
If overheated, they can catch on fire.

Do not use the oven for a storage area. Items
stored in an oven can ignite.

Do not leave paper products, cooking utensils

or fbod in the oven when not in use.

} Do not use aluminum foil to line oven bottoms,

except as suggested in this manual, hnproper

SELF-CLEANINGOVEN

Donot useoven cleaners.No commercialovencleaneror ovenlinerprotective coatingof anykindshouldbe

usedin or aroundanypart of the oven.Residuefromovencleanerswill damagethe insideof theoven whenthe

self-cleancycleis used.

Do not clean the door gasket. The door gasket
is essential fbr a good seal. Care should be
token not to rub, damage or move tile gasket.

Befbre self cleaning tile oven, remove the
broiler pan, grid and other cookwam.

Be sine to wipe up excess spillage befbre

starting tile self cleaning ope_,'ation.
If the selfcleaning mode malflmctions, turn the

oven off and disconnect the power suppl}: Have

Surface Cookware Tips

Use medium- or hea\y-weight cookware.

_kdtllllilltllll cookware conducts heat tipster

than other metals. Cast-iron and coamd

cast-iron cookware are slow to _lbsorb

heat but generall_ cook exenl_ at low to
medium heat settings. Steel pans may

cook unevenly if not combined with
other metals.

For best cooking results, pans should be
fiat on the bottom. Match the size of the

saucei)an to the size of the stu]i_ce unit.
The pan should not extend over the

edge ot the stu_hce unit more than 1".

Use only flat-bottomed woks.

Wok Cooking
