ANTI-TIP DEVICE
To reduce the risk of tipping the range, the range must be secured
by a properly installed anti-tip bracket. See installation instructions
shipped with the oven for complete details before attempting to install.
Two methods of securing the range are provided. Follow the instructions below, to check if the
range is properly secured. If the range is pulled away from the wall
for any reason, always repeat this procedure to verify the range is
properly secured.
A child or adult can tip the range and be killed. Verify the anti-tip bracket has been properly installed
and engaged. Ensure the anti-tip bracket is re-engaged when the range
is moved. Do not operate the range without the anti-tip bracket in
place and engaged. Failure to follow these instructions can result in death or
serious burns to children or adults.
Ijp-Over Hazard
Method 1 Raise the lift-up cooktop and support it with the
cooktop support rod. Confirm that there are 4 screws (2 on each side) that secure the range to the contertop. See picture below.
Method 2 Slide the range forward, confirm the anti-tip bracket
is securely attached to the rear of the range. Slide the range back so that the anti-tip bracket slides just
under the wood block attached to the rear wall below.
JA WARNING IIIvlPORTANT SAFETYNOTICE
The California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act requires the Govemor of California to publish a list of substances known to the state to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm, and requires businesses to wam customers of potential exposure to such substances.
The fiberglass insulation in self-clean ovens gives off a very small amount of carbon monoxide during the cleaning cycle. Exposure can be minimized by venting with an open window or using a ventilation fan or hood.

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING.
iA WARNING i COOKTOPSAFETYINSTRUCTIONS
i Never leave the surface units unattended at medium or i
high heat settings. Boilovers cause smoking and greasy spillovers that may catch on fire.
Never leave oil unattended while frying. If allowed to heat beyond its smoking point, oil may ignite, resulting
in fire that may spread to surrounding cabinets. Use a deep fat thermometer whenever possible to monitor oil
temperature.
i To avoid oil spillover and fire, use a minimum amount of
oil when shallow pan-frying and avoid cooking frozen foods with excessive amounts of ice.
Use proper pan size--select cookware having flat bottoms large enough to cover the surface heating
element. The use of undersized cookware will expose a portion of the surface unit to direct contact and may
result in ignition of clothing. Proper relationship of cookware to surface unit will also improve efficiency.
Only certain types of glass,glass/ceramic, earthenware or other glazed containers are suitablefor cooktop
service;others may breakbecauseof the sudden change in temperature.
To minimize the possibility of burns, ignition of flammable materials and spillage, the handle of a
container should be turned toward the center of the
range without extending over nearby surface units.
When preparing flaming foods under a hood, turn the fan on.
If power is lost to an electric cooktop while a surface unit is ON, the surface unit will turn back ON as soon
as power is restored. Inthe event of power loss, failure to turn all surface unit knobs to the OFF position may
result in ignition of items on or near the cooktop leading
to serious injury or death.
[A WARNING JRADIANT COOKTOPSAFETYINSTRUCTIONS
(some models)
i Use care when touching the cooktop. The glass surface
of the cooktop will retain heat after the controls have been turned off.
Do not cook on a broken cooktop. If glass cooktop should break, cleaning solutions and spillovers
may penetrate the broken cooktop and create a risk of electric shock. Contact a qualified technician
immediately.
i Avoid scratching the glass cooktop. The cooktop can be
scratched with items such as knives, sharp instruments, rings or other jewelry and rivets on clothing.
Do not place or store items that can melt or catch fire on the glass cooktop, even when it is not being used. If
the cooktop is inadvertently turned on, they may ignite. Heat from the cooktop or oven vent after it is turned off
may cause them to ignite also.
UseCERAMABRYTE® ceramic Cooktop Cleanerand CERAHABRYTE® Cleaning Padto clean the cooktop.
Wait until the cooktop cools and the indicator light goes out before cleaning.A wet sponge or cloth on a
hot surface can causesteam burns.Somecleaners can produce noxiousfumes if applied to a hot surface.
NOTE:Sugarspillsare an exception. They should be scraped off while still hot using anoven mitt and a
scraper.Seethe Cleaningthe glasscooktop section for detailed instructions.
Read and follow all instructions and warnings on the cleaning cream label.
[A WARNING ! COIL COOKTOP SAFETYINSTRUCTIONS
(some models)
i Do not immerse or soak the removable surface units.
Do not put them in a dishwasher. Do not self-clean the
surface units in an oven. Doing so may cause them to fail, presenting a burn or fire hazard.
To avoid the possibility of a burn or electric shock, always
be certain that the controls for all surface units are at the
OFF position and all coils are cool before attempting to lift
4 or remove a coil surface unit.
i Be sure the drip pans are not covered and are in place.
Their absence during cooking could damage range
parts and wiring.
i Do not use aluminum foil to line drip pans. Foil can trap
heat or melt, resulting in damage to the product and a
shock or fire hazard.
[A WARNING [OVEN SAFETYINSTRUCTIONS
GEAppliances.com
Stand away from the range when opening the oven door. Hot air or steam which escapes can cause burns
to hands, face and/or eyes.
Keep the oven vent unobstructed. Keep the oven free from grease buildup. Grease in the
oven may ignite.
Placeoven racks in desired location while oven iscool. If rack must be movedwhile oven is hot,do not let pot
holder contact hot heating element in oven.
When using cooking or roasting bags in the oven, follow the manufacturer's directions.
[,&WARNING
(Some models)
The self-cleaning feature operates the oven at temperatures high enough to burn away food soils in the oven.
Follow these instructions for safe operation.
Before operating the self-clean cycle, remove pans, shiny metal oven racks and other utensils from the
oven. Only gray porcelain-coated oven racks may be left in the oven. Do not use self-clean to clean other
parts, such as drip pans or bowls.
] SELF-CLEANING OVEN SAFETYINSTRUCTIONS
Beforeoperating the self-clean cycle, wipe grease and
Pull the oven rack to the stop-lock position when loading and unloading food from the oven. This helps
prevent burns from touching hot surfaces of the door and oven walls.
Do not leave items such as paper, cooking utensils or food in the oven when not in use. Items stored in an
oven can ignite. Do not use aluminum foil to line the oven bottom. Foil
may trap or reflect heat, leading to a shock or fire hazard.
Do not clean the door gasket. The door gasket is essential for a good seal. Care should be taken not to
rub, damage or move the gasket. Do not use oven cleaners. No commercial oven cleaner
or oven liner protective coating of any kind should be used in or around any part of the oven.

Do not use aluminum foil to line the drip pans. Foil can
trap heat or melt resulting in damage to the product
and a shock or fire hazard. Be sure the drip pans and the vent duct are not covered
and are in place. Their absence during cooking could damage range parts and wiring.
Onlycertain types of glass,glass/ceramic, earthenware orother glazed containers are suitable for cooktop
service;others may breakbecause ofthe sudden change intemperature.
To minimize the possibility of burns, ignition of flammable materials and spillage, the handle of a
container should be turned toward the center of the range without extending over nearby surface units.
Always turn the surface units off before removing
cookware. Do not immerse or soak the removable surface units.
Do not put them in a dishwasher. Do not self-clean the surface units in the oven.
Always heat fat slowly, and watch as it heats.
Do not flame foods on the cooktop. If you do flame
foods under the hood, turn the fan on.
To avoid the possibility of a burn or electric shock,
always be certain that the controls for all surface units are at the OFF position and all coils are cool before
attempting to lift or remove a unit. Clean the cooktop with caution. If a wet sponge is used
to wipe spills on a hot cooktop, be careful to avoid
steam burns. Keep an eye on foods being fried at high or medium
high heat settings. Foods for frying should be as dry as possible. Frost on
frozen foods or moisture on fresh foods can cause hot fat to bubble up and over the sides of the pan.
Use little fat for effective shallow or deep fat frying. Filling the pan too full of fat can cause spillovers when
food is added.
If a combination of oils or fats will be used in frying, stir
together before heating, or as fats melt slowly.
Use a deep fat thermometer whenever possible to prevent overheating fat beyond the smoking point.
Carefully watch for spillovers or overheating of foods when frying at high or medium high temperatures.
Never try to move a pan of hot fat, especially a deep fat
fryer. Wait until the fat is cool.
Do not allow water, other liquids or grease to remain on
the cooktop or the control panel.

Not OVer i".
Use only fiat-bottomed woks.
Use medium- or heavy-weight cookware.
Aluminum cookware conducts heat faster than other metals. Cast-iron and coated cast-
iron cookware are slow to absorb heat, but generally cook evenly at low to medium heat settings. Steel pans may cook unevenly if not
combined with other metals.
Wok Cooking
We recommend that you use only a fiat-
bottomed wok. Theyare available atyour local retailstore.
Do not usewoks that have support rings. Use ofthese types of woks, with or without the ring
in place, can be dangerous.
Deep Fat Frying
Do not overfill cookware with fat that may spill overwhen adding food. Frostyfoods bubble
vigorously.
Forbest cooking results, pans should be flat on
the bottom. Hatch the sizeof the saucepan to the sizeof the surface unit. Thepan should not
extend over the edge of the surface unit more than 1".
Placingthe ring overthe surface unit will
cause a build-up of heat that will damage the
porcelain cooktop. Donot try to use such woks
without the ring. You could be seriouslyburned
ifthe wok tipped over.
Watch food frying at high temperatures. Keep
range and hood clean from grease.
