Aluminum:Medium-weight cookwareisrecommendedbecause itheatsquicklyandevenly.Most foodsbrownevenlyinanaluminum skillet.Mineralsinfoodandwater willstainbutwillnotharm aluminum.A quickscourwitha soap-filledwoolpadafiereachuse keepsaluminumcookwarelooking
shinynew.Usesaucepanswith tight-fittinglidsforcookingwith minimumamountsofwater.

Donotuseabrasivecleansers, strongliquidcleanersor oven cleanersonthe controlpanel.
BurnerGmtes
Gratesshouldbe washedregularly and,ofcourse,afterspillovers. Gratesliftoutandshouldbe washedwithdetergentandhot water.Useafinesteelwoolpador scouringpowdertoremoveburned­onfoodparticles.Drythegrates withacloth—don’tputthemback onthecooktopwet.Whenreplacing thegrates,curvedsidesgotogether sothatstraightsidesareatfront andrearas shownbelow.Besure thegratesarelockedintoposition overtheburners.
Althoughthey’redurable,the grateswillgraduallylose their
shine,regardlessofthecareyou takeofthem.Thisis duetotheir exposuretohightemperatures.
Topreservetheporcelainfinish aslongaspossible,haveapan onthegratebeforeyouturnonthe burner,andlowertheflamewhen foodreachesthedesiredtemperature.
Lift-upTop
Cleantheareaunderthe cooktop often.Built-upsoil,especially grease,maycatchfire.
Tomakecleaningunderthetop easier,thetopmaybelifiedup.
Besureallburnersareturnedoff andunitiscool.Then removethe
grates,graspthefrontsidesofthe topandliftallthewayup.
Aftercleaningunderthetopwith hot,mild,soapywaterandaclean cloth,lowerthe topbackinplace. Becarefilnottopinchyourfingers.

Theholesin theburnersofyour cooktopmustbekeptcleanatall timesforproperignitionandan even,unhamperedflame.
Cleantheburnersroutinelyand especiallyafterbadspillovers. Burnerslifirightoutforcleaning.
Note:A screwholdseachofthe burnersinplaceduringshipment. Removetheshippingscrew,grasp theburnerattheburnerheadand liftupwardwitha slightmovement _ awayfromtheburner controls. Thisdisengagesitfromthegas valvesatthefront ofthecooltop, anditlifi outeasily.
Toremoveburned-onfood,rub theburnerswitha dishclothor
nonabrasivepad,thensoakthemin awarmwaterandmildliquid
dishwashingdetergentsolution.If
stainsremain,soaktheburnersina solutionofhotwaterandaproduct usedforcleaningtheinsideof coffeemakers.After20 minutes, removetheburners,coolslightly andrinsethoroughlywithcold water.Besureallofthesolution iscompletelyrinsedoffboththe insideandoutsideoftheburners. If necessary,usea straightpinto cleantheholesinthe burnerhead. Donotuseatoothpickorother objectsthatmightenlargetheholes or breakoffandclogahole.
Beforeputtingtheburnerback,dry itthoroughlybysettingit in awarm ovenfor30 minutes.
