cups, pottery or china dimlerware which does not have metallic t_im or glaze with a metallic sheen
can be used. Some cookware is labeled "suitable
fi)r micr()waving."
If you are not sm'e if a dish is microwave-safe, use this test: Place in tile oven both tile dish
you are testing and a glass measuring cup filled with 1 cup of water--set tile measuring cup
either in or next to tile dish. Microwave 30-45 seconds at high. If tile dish heats,
it should not be used fi)r microwaving.
If tile dish remains cool and only tile water in tile cup heats, then tile dish is microwave-sate.
If you use a meat themlometer while cooking,
make sm'e it is sati _ fi)r use in microwave ovens.
Do not use recycled paper products. Recycled
paper towels, napkins and waxed paper can
contain metal flecks which may cause arcing or ignite. Paper products containing nylon or
m'lon filaments should be avoided, as they
may also ignite.
Some sQ,rofi)am tra_:s (like those that meat
is packaged on) have a thin strip of metal
embedded in tile bottom. When microwaved, the metal can bm'n the floor of the oven or
ignite a paper towel.

Paper towels, waxed paper and plastic wrap can be used to cover dishes in order to retain
moistm'e and prevent spattering. Be sm'e to vent plastic wrap so smam can escape.
())okware may become hot because of heat transferred fl'om tile heated food. Pot holde_
may be needed to handle tile cookware.
"Boilable" cooking pouches and fighdy closed plastic bags should be slit, pierced or vented as
directed by package. If they are not, plastic could bmst dining or immediately alter cooking,

GROUNDINGINSTRUCTIONS
WARNING-Improperuseethegroundingplugcanresultinariskofelectricshock.
This appliance must be grounded. In the event of an electrical short circuit, grotmding reduces the
risk of electric shock by providing an escape wire
for the electric current.
This appliance is equii)ped with a power cord
having a grounding wire with a grotmding i)lug.
The i_lug must be i_lugged into an outlet that is propedy installed and grounded.
Consult a qualified electiician or se_Mce technician
if tile gro/mding instructions are not completely
undeistood, or if doubt exists as to whether tile
appliance is properly grounded.
If the outlet is a standard 2-prong wall outlet, it is your personal responsibility and obligation
to have it replaced with a propedy grounded 3-prong wall outlet.

_,¥€' do not i'eCOllllllend using }111 extension cord
with this appliance. If the power cord is too
short, have a qualNed electiician or service technician install an outlet near the appliance,
(See EXTENSION CORDS section,)
For best operation, plug this appliance into its own electrical outlet to prevent flickering of lights,
blowing of fllse or tripping of circuit breaker:
ADAPTERPLUGS
Usage situations where appfiance's power cord will be disconnected infrequently.
Because ot potential safety hazards under certain conditions,
we strongly recommend against the use of an adapter plug.
Howe\'e_; if you still elect to use an adapter, where local codes
pemfit, a TEMPORARYCONNECTION mav be made to a im_perlv grounded 2-prong wall receptacle by tile use of a LrI, listed adapter
which is available at most local hardware stores.
Tile linger slot in tile adapter must be aligned with tile linger slot in
the wall receptacle to provide proper polarity in the connection of the power cord.

TEMPORARY andfirmconnection METHOD beforeuse.
CAUTION."Attaching the adapter ground terminal to the wall receptacle cover screw does not ground the appliance unless the cover screw is metal, and not insulated, and the wall receptacle is grounded through the house wiring.
_4m should have tile circuit checked by a qualified electrician to make sure tile receptacle is properly grounded.
'_&l/en disconnecting tile power cord flxm_ tile adapte_; alwa):s hold tile adapter with one hand. If this
is not done, the adapter gro/md temfinal is very likely to break with repeated use. Should this hai_pen,
DO NOYUSEthe appliance until a proper ground has again been established.
Usage situations where appfiance's power cord will be disconnected frequently.
Do not use an adapter plug in these situations because fl'equent disconnection of tile power cord places undue strain on the adapter and leads to eventual failure of the adapter ground temfinal. Yim should
have the 2-prong wall receptacle replaced with a 3-prong (grounding) receptacle by a qualified electrician
before using tile appliance.
