FIRM CONNEC1”ION BEFOREUSE
The larger slot in the adapter must be alignedwiththelargerslotin the wallreceptacle to provideproper polarity in the connection of the power cord.
Caution: Attachingthe adapter ground terminal to the wall receptacle cover screw does not
ground the appliance unless the cover screw is metal, and not insulated, and the wall-receptacle isgrounded through the house wiring. Youshould havethe circuit
checked by a qualified electrician to make sure the receptacle is properlygrounded.
When disconnecting the power cord from the adapter, alwayshold the adapter with one hand. If this is not done, the adapter ground
terminal is very likely to break with
repeated use. Should this happen, DO NOT USE the appliance until
a proper ground
hasagainbeen
established.
Becauseofpotentialsafetyhazards
undercertainconditionswestrongly recommend againstthe use ofan extensioncord. However, ifit is
necessaryto use an extensioncord, use ordya3-wireextensioncord thathas a 3-bladegroundingplug,
and a 3-slot receptaclethatwill
accepttheplug onthe appliance.
The marked rating ofthe extension
cordshall be equaltoor greater
than the electrical rating ofthe
appliance (15amperes).
Suchextensioncords are obtainable
through General Electric service.
If you do use amextension Cord
with your microwave oven?the
interior light may fiicker and the
blower sound may vary when oven
is in use. Cook times may be longer as well.
