WHEN USING YOUR DRYER
Never reach into the dryer while the drum is moving. Beforeloading, unloading or adding
clothes,wait until the drum has completely stopped.
Keepall laundry aids (suchas detergents, bleaches,etc.)out of the reach of children,
preferably in a locked cabinet.Observe all warnings on container labels to avoid injury.
Never climb on or stand on the dryer top.
Keepthe area around the exhaust opening and adjacent surrounding areasfree from the
accumulation of lint, dust and dirt. Donot obstruct the flow of ventilating air. Do not
stack or place laundry or throw rugs against the
front or back of the dryer.
The laundry process can reduce the flame

Cleanthe lint filter before each load to prevent lint accumulation inside the dryer or inthe room. DO

Do not wash ordry articlesthat have been

Donot place items exposed to cooking oils in

Any article on which you have used a cleaning
solvent or that contains flammable materials (suchas cleaning cloths, mops, towels usedin
beauty salons, restaurants or barber shops,etc.) must not be placed in ornear the dryer until
solvents or flammable materials have been removed.There are many highly flammable items
usedin homes such asacetone, denatured alcohol, gasoline,kerosene,some household cleaners, some spot removers,turpentines, waxes, wax
removers and products containing petroleum distillates.
Donot dry articles containing rubber,plastic or similar materials such as padded bras,tennis
shoes,galoshes, bath mats, rugs,bibs,baby pants, plastic bags, pillows,etc.that may melt or burn. Somerubber materials, when heated, can under
certain circumstances produce fire by spontaneous combustion.
Donot store plastic, paper or clothing that may burn or melt on top of the dryer during operation.
Garments labeled "Dry Awag from Hea(' or "DoNot TumbleDry" (suchas lifejackets containing Kapok)
must not be put in your dryer. Donot dry fiberglass articles in your dryer.
Skinirritation could result from the remaining particlesthat may be picked up by clothing
during subsequent dryer uses.
To minimizethe possibility of electric shock, unplug this appliance from the power supply or disconnect

About the drger features.

Wrinkle Care Option (onsomemodels)
Usethis option to minimize the wrinkles in clothes. It provides approximately
15 minutes of no-heat tumbling after the clothes are dry.
Thisoption can only be used with the Cottons and Easy Care cycles.
Cycle Signal Option (on some models)
Thissignalwill soundjust before the end of the cycle to remind you to remove the
clothes. On somemodels,the signalsound levelcannot be adjusted.
If you selected the Wrinkle Care option, the signalwill sound at the end of the drying
time and will sound several times during the Wrinkle Care cycle.Thiswill remind you that it istime to remove the clothes.
Ifyou are using the Cycle Signal knob
and you selectthe Wrinkle Careoption, a signal will sound atthe end of the drying
time and several times during the Wrinkle CAREcycle. Thiswill remind you that it is time
to remove the clothes.
If Wrinkle Care is not on, the dryer will stop once the timer reaches the
Wrinkle Care mark on the cycle dial.
NOTE:
Removegarments promptly at the sound of the signal. Place clothes on hangers so
wrinkles won't set in.
Use the Cycle Signal especially when drying fabrics like polyester knits and
permanent press. These fabrics should
be removed so wrinkles won't set in.
Automatic Cgcle Signal (onsomemodels)
At the end of each cycle, there is approximately 15 minutes of no-heat
tumbling after the laundry is dry.
Drum Lamp (onsome models)
Before replacing the light bulb,be sure to unplug the dryer power cord or disconnect
the dryer at the household distribution panel by removing the fuse or switching off the
circuit breaker. Reachabove dryer opening from inside the drum. Removethe bulb and
replace with the same sizebulb.
Drying Rack (onsome models)
A handy drying rack may be usedfor drying delicate items such aswashable sweaters.
Hook the rack over the lintfilter sothe rack extends into the dryer drum.
A reminder signal will sound periodically during this time to remind you to remove
the laundry.
NOTE:
Thedrying rack must be used with the Time Dry cycle.
Do not use this drging rack when there are other clothes in the drger.
Stainless Steel Drum (on some models) Thestainlesssteel used to make the dryer
drum provides the highest reliabilityavailable in a GEdryer.If the dryer drum should be
scratched or dented during normal use,

the drum will not rust or corrode.These
surface blemisheswill not affect the function or durability of the drum.

Reversing the Door Toolsneeded:
Standard#2 Tape-tipped Phillipsscrewdriver putty knife
rl] open the door and remove the filler plugsopposite the hinges.With the door completely
open,remove the bottom screw from each hingeon the dryer face. Insert these screws about half way into the TOP holes,for each hinge, on the opposite side(whereyou
removed the filler plugs).Applyfirm pressureto get the screw started in new holes.
r_ Loosentop screw from each hinge on the dryerface half way. With one hand holding the
top of the door and the other hand holding the bottom, remove the door from the dryer by lifting it UP and OUT.
(
[-3-1Rotatethe door 180°.Insert it on the opposite side ofthe opening by moving the door
/N and DOWN until the top hinge and the bottom hinge are resting on the top screws inserted in step 1.
[] Removethe remaining screws from the sideof the opening from which the door
was removed. With thesescrews,secure each hinge at the bottom. Tighten the two top screws of each hinge.Reinsertthe plasticplugs on the side from which
the door was removed.
Loading and using the drger.
Alwags follow the fabric manufacturer's care label when laundering.
Sorting and Loading Hints
Asa general rule,if clothes are sorted properly for the washer,they are sorted properly for the dryer.
Donot add fabric softener sheets once the load has
become warm. They may cause fabric softener stains.
Bounce®Fabric Conditioner DryerSheets have been
approved for use in all GEDryerswhen used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Careand Cleaningof the Orger
TheExterior'.Wipe or dust any spillsor washing
compounds with a damp cloth. Dryer control panel and finishes may be damaged bysome laundry
pretreatment soiland stain remover products. Apply these products away from the dryer. Thefabric may
then be washed and dried normally. Damageto your dryer caused by these products isnot covered by
your warranty. TheLint Filten Cleanthe lint filter before each
use. Moistenyour fingers and reach into the filter opening. Runyour fingers acrossthe filter. Havea
qualifiedtechnician vacuum the lint from the dryer once a year.
Do not overload. Thiswastes energy and causes
wrinkling.
Do not drg the following items:fiberglass items,
woolens, rubber-coated items, plastics,items with
plastictrim and foam-filled items.
Stainless Steel: To clean stainless steel surfaces,
use a damp cloth with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner suitable for stainless steel surfaces. Remove the
cleaner residue, and then dry with a clean cloth. TheExhaust Duct: Inspect and cleanthe exhaust
ducting at least once a year to prevent clogging.
A partially clogged exhaust can lengthen the
drying time. Follow these steps:
IT1 Turn off electrical supplyby disconnecting the
plug from the wall socket.
I-_ Disconnect the duct from the dryer. [-3-1Vacuum the duct with the hoseattachment and
reconnect the duct.
TheExhaust Hood: Checkfrom the outside that the
flaps of the hood movefreely when operating.Hake

Venting the Dryer
Forthe best drying performonce, the dryer needs to be properly vented. Thedryer will use more energy and run longerifit isnot vented to the below specifications. Carefully follow thedetails on Exhausting in
the InstallationInstructions.
Useonly rigid metal 4" diameter ductwork inside the dryer cabinet. Use only rigid metal or ULlisted flexible metal 4" diameter ductwork for exhausting to the outside.
Donot use plastic or other combustible ductwork.
Usethe shortest length possible.

Este decreto requiere que el Gobernador de California publique una lista de las sustancias que el estado sabe que causan c6ncer, defectos de nacimiento y otros dahos reproductivos y requiere que
los comerciantes le adviertan a sus consumidores sabre el potencial de exposici6n a tales sustancias. Los electrodom6sticos de gas pueden causar la exposici6n a cuatro de estas sustancias,

CUANDO USESU

Nolave o sequeart[culos que se hayan limpiado,
lavado, remojado o salpicadocon sustancias combustibles o explosivas(talescomo cera,aceite,
pintura, gasolina,desengrasadores, solventes de tintorer[a, kerosene).Estassustancias producen
vapores que podr[an incendiarseo explotar. No agregue estas sustancias al agua de lavado. No
use ni coloque estassustancias alrededor de la lavadora o secadora durante su uso.
Nocoloque art[culos expuestos a aceite
de cocinar en la secadora. Losart[culos contaminados con aceites de cocinar podr[an
contribuir a formar una reacci6n quimica que podr[a causar que una carga de ropas se incendie.
Cualquierart[culo sobre el cual usted us6 un solvente de limpieza o que contenga materiales inflamables (tales como paBosde limpieza,
trapeadores, toallas usadas en salones debelleza, restaurantes o barber[as)no se deben colocar en el
interior o en las proximidades de la secadora basra que los solventes oliquidos inflamables se hayan
removido. Existenmuchos art[culos inflamables en el hogar tales como la acetona, elalcohol, la

SECADORA
IVlantengatodos los articulos de limpieza
(talescomo detergentes y blanqueadores) fuera del alcance de los niBos,preferiblemente
encerrados en un gabinete. Pongaatenci6n alas advertencias en lasetiquetas de losenvasespara
evitar accidentes.
Nunca trepe ni se ponga de piesobre la parte
superior de la secadora.
Mantenga el 6rea alrededor de la salida y las 6reas cercanas libres de acumulaci6n de
pelusas, polvillo y suciedad.
Noobstruya el flujo del aire ventilado. No apile,
no coloque ropa, no eche alfombras al frente o al respaldo de la secadora.
Elproceso de lavado puede reducir la habilidad
de retardar laflamabilidad de algunas telas.
Paraevitar tal resultado, siga las instrucciones
del fabricante de lastelas con mucho cuidado.
Noseque articulos que contengan goma, pl6stico,
espuma o materiales similarestales como sostenes (brasieres)con relleno,ganchos de goma,
alfombras de baBo,baberos de niBo,pantalones de niBo,bolsas pl6sticasy almohadas quese puedan
derretir o quemar. Algunos materiales gomosos, cuando secalientan, bajo ciertas circunstancias
podr[an incendiarse por combusti6n espont6nea.
Durante su operaci6n, no almacene encima de la
secadora pl6sticos, papel o ropa quese puedan quemar o derretir.
Lasprendas de vestir etiquetadas "Dry awag
from hear' (Secaralejadasdel calor)o "Do not tumble dry" (Nosecar por giro)--tales como
chaquetas salvavidas que contienen capoc- no se deben colocar en susecadora.
Noseque articulos de fibra de vidrio en su
secadora. Estopodr[a ocasionar irritaci6n en la piel debido alas part[culas restantes quese podrian
adherir a la ropa durante usossubsecuentes de la secadora.
Paraminimizar la posibilidad de una descarga
el6ctrica, desconecte 6steelectrodom6stico de su tomacorriente o desconecte la secadora del panel
