GOmi&shwashingstarts with HOT’-water.
TOgetdishescleanand dry you needhot water.‘lbhelp youget
waterof theproper temperature, yourGeneralElectric dishwasher hasa waterheatingfeaturethat automaticallysensesthetempemtuxe ofthewater in the washcycleand
heatsit, if necessary,to theproper temperature. This water heating
featuremayallowyou to turndown yourhouseholdwaterheater and saveenergyif you’rewillingto let
thedishwasherrun a littlelonger whileit heatswater to theproper
temperature. For good washingand drying, the enteringwater mustbe at least 120”F.Topreventdish damage, inlet watershould not exceed 150”F.
How
totestwatertemperature:
Check yourwater temperature with a candy or meat thermometer. Turn
on the hot water faucetnearest the dishwasher.Put the thermometer in a glass and let the water run
continuouslyinto the glassuntil the temperature stops rising. If the watertemperature is below 120°F.,
adjustyour water heater.
Helpful hints: If outside temperatures are unusually low, or
ifyour water travelsa long distance from heater to dishwasher, you may need to set your heater’sthermostat
up. If youhave not used hot water for some time, the water in the
pipes will be cold. Turn on the hot
water faucet at the sink and allow it to run until the water is hot. Then start the dishwasher. If you’ve recently done laundry or run hot
water for showers, give your watef heater time to recover before
operating the dishwasher.
HeIp preventspotting with a rinseagent.
