SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should be followed, including the following:
This freezer must, be projrerly installed and located in accordance with the Installation Instmctions before it is used.
Do not allow children to climb, stmd or hang on the shelves in the freezer. They could damage the freezer and seriously injure themselves.
.After your freezer is in operation, do not touch tlie cold suiiaces, paiticularly when hands are damp or wet. Skin may stick to these extremely cold suiiaces.
Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapoix and liquids in the \icinit)' of this or any other appliance.
i Unplug the freezer before cleaning, making
repaira or changing the light bulb.
NOTE: We strongly recommend that any servicing be performed by a qualified individual.

Turning the control to the Offposition does not remove power to the light circuit on models with interior light.

i Caution should be used when removing the door
of a freezer. Particular ca ution should be used when removing the lid of a Chest freezer, as most Chest freezer lids are under sjriing tension. Contact the manufacturer’s representative for
a method of safe removal.

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should be followed, including the following:
CJiild entrapment and suffocation are not problems of the jrast. Junked or abandoned refiigeratoi’s and ffeezer's are still dangerous...even if they will sit for “just a few' days." If you are getting rid of your old refrigerator or fieezei; please follow' the instructions below' to lielp prevent accidents.
Before You Throw Away Your Old Refrigerator or Freezer:

Because of potential safety hazards under certain conditions, we strongly recommend against die use of an extension cord.
How'ever, if you must tise an extension cord, it is absolutely necessaiy that it be a UL.-listed (in the United States) or a CSA-listed (in Canada) , 3-wire grounding t)pe appliance extension cord having a grounding ripe plug and outlet and that the electrical rating of the cord be 15 amjreres (minimum) and 120 volts.

HOW TO CONNECT ELECTRICITY

Do not, under any circumstances, cut or remove the third (ground) prong from the power cord.
For personal safety, this appliance must be properly grounded.

The power cord of this appliance is equipped with a 3-j:>rong (grounding) plug which mates with a standard 3-prong (grounding) wall outlet to minimize the possibility of electric shock hazard from this appliance.
Have the wall outlet and circuit checked by a qualified electrician to make sure the outlet is properly grounded.
If the outlet is a standard 2-prong wall outlet, it is }'our personal responsibilitt’ and obligation to have it replaced with a properly grounded 3-prong wall outlet.
The freezer should ahvays be plugged into its owm individual electrical outlet wliich has a voltage rating that matches the rating plate.

This provides the best peifomiance and also prevents overloading house wiring circuits wliich could cause a lire hazaixl from overheated wires.
Never unplug your freezer by pulling on the power cord. j'Uways grip plug fimily and pull straight out from the outlet.
Repair or' replace immediately all powder cords that have become fr ayed or' otherwise damaged. Do not
use a cord that shows cracks or abrasion damage
along its length or' at either end. \Mien moving the freezer' away from the wall, be
careful not to r'oll over or damage the pow’er cord.

Starting the Freezer

C'lean the inside of die freezer with a mild solution of baking soda and water {see Care and Cleaning). (Connect cord to power' outlet,
121°" models with a Temperature Monitor or High-Temp ,AJami Switch, set the switch to the OfiFposition. gj Make sure the temperature control is set at 4.
jAJIow freezer to operate for at least timr hours befiire placing food inside.
On models with a Temperature Monitor or High-Temp Marni Switch, set the switch to the OA/position.
Temperature Control
Fr eezing temperature selection is made by setting the control from 1 to 7 (coldest).
If you want colder or wanner' temperatur es, adjust the control one step at a time.
Mlow several hour's after each one-step adjustment for' the freezer temperature to stabilize.
Turning the control to the Off position stops the cooling process but does not shut off power to the fr eezer.
